Bought at the beginning of winter what a horrible mistake should have never got rid of the old one. This thing is so finicky and does not like to start and has the weakest auger that belongs on a toy. I have never had a winter where my stove worked so horrible. I have been freezing due to this unreliable piece of scrap metal. Do Not Buy quadrafire period if they sell a stove this bad I will not buy from them period.
This is the crappiest, most temperamental, POS pellet stove. I've had nothing but problems with it. I only thank God that it's been a warm winter otherwise we would have froze. Do not buy!
I am not at all happy with the QF2 First off when they show the warranty limits for parts they don’t mention all service visits are $200. Nope! When I dug into the stove failure the first time I found the problem to be a failed igniter (in service for 2 months?). I found 2 igniters for $30 on line, all good again! I have replaced 2 more since then. I have also had a FB fuse blow? Probably related to the igniters frying all the time? No easy task here, to save a couple of pennies they put the fuse on the board itself instead of a quick access cylinder fuse holder out the back. I had to remove the board from the back panel to get to the fuse. Update! A new one. The igniter will not shut off? The control knob will not shut it off? I have to pull the plug. I cant speak for other stoves but this one has been a lot of problems for how old it is.
Bought a Quadrafire woodburning insert fireplace in winter 2021 (waited 5 months for delivery). Two issues: 1. The cast frame was mis-aligned to the outer frame (probably incorect alignment when welding), leaving a gap on one side where embers could enter fan area. 2. the handle shank hits the frame when closing. The real issue, though, was how long this has gone on, It's been over a year, and the factory has not supplied our local dealer with the replacement parts, despite multiple requests. (these are not supply chain issues). It appears a simple case of not paying attention and following through with a customer once a sale is made. Shame on you, Quadrafire.
