scammers
scammers. Advertise free QR code, after a few days it becomes unusable after everything's been printed, force you to pay, make it seem like you're only paying one month but charge you for a whole year! Scam.
AVOID AVOID AVOID!
AVOID AVOID AVOID!! Advertised free QR codes and sent an email saying that they'd expired 2 weeks later. I've already got everything printed and now I have to re-print everything as this is still cheaper than their monthly fee (which has to be paid anually)
Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience. I cancelled my subscription and my account shows “No Active Subscription,” but the company still generated an invoice and insists it must be paid. Customer support only repeats their policy and refuses to properly review the case. Not a customer-friendly service—be careful before signing up.
They advertise "free" qr codes only to…
They advertise "free" qr codes only to force you to pay an ANNUAL fee a week or two later. I'd already printed materials and distributed them around...too late to go back for me as I need to use the QR code I'd generated but SAVE YOURSELF. Do not use them! It looks like QRcode.com might be legit, but this one is a scam.
HORRIBLE COMPANY who LEGALLY SCAMS…
HORRIBLE COMPANY who LEGALLY SCAMS PEOPLE! So I need a QR code for my wedding invitations, right? So I generate one on their website, which says that it's free and gives zero indication that there is any cost involved let alone any significant cost. I download the QR code and put it on my invitations, then I go ahead and order my invitations for $150. I think all is great until I get an email from them saying that the QR code will be deactivated that day if I don't pay for a subscription! So I look at their pricing and it says $11 a month. More than I was expecting to pay, but okay I'll do it for 3 months until my wedding. So I put in my information and click the pay button, and it says thank you for your $133 payment! I was so mad I went and told every single person around at my workplace what had just happened and how they had conducted a legal scam. This company is absolutely horrible should stay away from it as if your life depends on it! I'm literally telling every single person that I possibly can just to try to protect them. Companies like this really do show how greed and lack of integrity can infect a so-called company and turn it into a scammer. I truly don't understand how this is legal to do. I think I'm going to file a lawsuit against this company.
Fraudulent
Fraudulent. I paid for a one off qr code and unbeknownst to me, they'd set me up a a monthly subscription taking £46.45 as a month's payment. I kept receiving emails from them which were worded as though they were trying to get me to sign up for subscription. Stay away from this company.
This is a HUGE SCAM
This is a HUGE SCAM. Wish I would have come to Tustpilot first. Wow. Not only did they scam me to pay for the year, when I thought I’d cancelled for the upcoming year, they charged me another $190. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. STAY FAR AWAY.
DO NOT USE
DO NOT USE! I feel scammed by this company who allow you to create a QR code and then without warning tell you two weeks later that they have the power to permanently disable it unless you pay. I wish I'd read these reviews first. The cost is £16 per month to keep the "free" QR code. This is truly disgusting - they should not be allowed to trade.
No customer service - not free
Advertised as free but its not, you'll need to pay within 2 weeks and the price is extortionate. There is no live chat, no contact number, and no email. If you have any issues you have to deal with an AI bot who can't tell left to right.
absolutely scam
absolutely scam! pretending to be free but not - dont notify before renewal and charged me again and refuse to refund
Such disgusting business practices!
Such disgusting business practices!
Falsely stating that QR codes are free, but then after 2 weeks the codes expire and the most expensive subscription is required to keep them active.
Over US$15 per week just for a link to a QR Code---outrageous
Stay away from this shonky company!
Purposefully misleading
I was misled into creating a "free" QR code that I placed on stickers only to find out that the code didn't work as soon as they arrived. 40€ wasted. Thanks God I didn't order a larger quantity. I even considered getting an 8€/month subscription but yet again they only had yearly payment plans. This was a second red flag and I decided to avoid using this service ever again.
(Dynamic) QR codes will expire after free trial!
The websites says that static QR codes are free also after your free 14-day trial, however it automatically generates dynamic qr codes in stead of static codes who will expire after the trial and you can't use them anymore unless paying for a yearly subscription. So be carefull!!!
I wish I read the reviews before I used…
I wish I read the reviews before I used it. Needed a QR code for a school event, no where it said the code will expire unless you paid after a week. Now all the codes have been printed and shared and we are being forced to pay a yearly subscription. Absolutely disgusting
They advertise with free codes
They advertise with free codes, but one month later, you receive a mail that you have to pay or the codes will stop working. It seemed that I had created a dynamic code (without ever indicating it had to be dynamic). By that time, my code had appeared in an article and there was no other solution than to pay. They only offer ANNUAL payment. A big scam if you ask me. As I saw the "powered by Bitly", I thought it would be trustworthly. Seems it isn't. Don't work with them.
A scam
A scam. They talk about creating QR codes for free and activate a trial period even without registration.
Nowhere on the site does it say that the QR code is deactivated at the end of the trial period, but it only says that it will be impossible to change it or see the analytics.
At the end of the trial period, the QR codes are instead deactivated unless you pay a subscription.
Absolutely not recommended.
QR Code Generator from bitly is a SCAM
This is a scam. I was charged 150 euro. I didn't use the product and asked for a refund. They refused to give me any refund. They are deceptive. Don't use them. There are plenty of free sites.
Absolute SCAM
Absolute SCAM. I just wanted to make a personal QR code for a baby registry. Created their 'FREE' QR only for it to get deactivated. Then as msged flooded in about it not working, i rushed to just pay what i thought was a month to month subscription - BAM charged $182 that they refused to refund. This is the most deshonest misleading company i have ever dealt with that scammed me out of a lot of money for a single QR code. DO NOT USE THEM AND TELL EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY
WARNING
WARNING! DO NOT USE - IT'S AN EXORTION SCAM! You are led to believe you are creating a "free" QR code, only get an email a few weeks later telling you "All of the Dynamic QR Codes you created during your trial period are now deactivated. The good news is that you can reactivate them and keep using QR Code Generator by upgrading to one of our three affordable plans." No warning of this when first creating your code.
Literally the biggest scam I've ever seen
First they advertise with a free QR code. Well, it's a lie. That BS expires within a week, with no advertising of the timeframe and no warning so you can get out of the bad contract they're offering you. AND well within the amount of time you'd need to get all your stuff printed and not be able to change it. So then you're cornered into a subscription and given three options, the cheapest one limits your scans so you're f*cked again and have to pick a more expensive one. And the kicker after that? You can't subscribe for a monthly rate, despite that being what they're showing you on that screen. There is no mention of this being an annual subscription until they already have your money. Reach out to them about a monthly subscription, thinking you've made a mistake? You get a rude little form response saying they don't even offer monthly subscriptions. So you're either out your printing fee/whatever else you've already gone through the process of making OR you're out the $200 for their half assed, awful service. I wouldn't treat my worst enemy like this. And shame on google for elevating them in the results!
