Don't walk away, run! Tried ordering a silver Army coin for my son, and after they took my order, got an email the next day saying after an internal review my order was being cancelled, say what??? Instantly called their number, person that answered said yes, that's also what I'm seeing. OK, WHY??? 'Oh, I don't know, I'm only seeing what you are. ??? Well, why would my order be cancelled, and why if you're customer service you have no answers???? I'm sorry, I'm just seeing exactly what you are, but if I had to guess, I'd say they probably want direct wire information to your checking account! Say what, $112. order placed on a charge card with plenty of space, and you want direct access to my checking account, WTF!!!!! I will be filing a complaint, or several, against this scam!

Item has showed shipped for nearly 2 weeks on there website. I finally received a tracking# 3 days ago and shipment has been sitting in label created. I wonder if they are waiting for lower market prices to obtain my products and then ship. I will give them 2 more days and then request a chargeback.

There was a fraudulent purchase. After 3 calls, I was able to get the purchase cancelled and received an email that I would receive a refund within 3-5 business days. As of 2 weeks, I have not received the refund and was told I had to take the issue up with my credit card company which I have. So, why did I receive an email from Provident stating I would, receive a refund. Apparently, that is just a form email when an order is cancelled. This is no way to do business and the reps I spoke to were of no help

Will never use them again. Service is extremely slow for today's online commerce where overnight transactions and deliveries are standard, and their tracking system is inaccurate. Excuse after excuse. Never again.

I had ordered a Gold Eagle (random date) and finally received it after 4 weeks, only to find it looked like it was put through a washing machine. Not a good experience with this company !

I’ve used Provident Metals for years without issues, but something has definitely changed.
If you’re considering paying by ACH, don’t. You have zero protection and Provident does not honor the Terms & Conditions you agree to when placing an order.

My package went missing while in FedEx custody an entire 3 states away. Provident filed the required claims (with FedEx and their insurer), and their Terms clearly state that “once the claim is filed,” they may reship or refund. Instead, they refused to do either and told me I must wait until their insurer approves the claim, which can take months if at all — something that is not stated anywhere in their Terms.

I theorize the reason for this "change" is their insurance company is delaying/denying valid claims, so Provident is leaving customers stuck with the loss against their terms. When you pay by ACH, you have no chargeback rights and no recourse.

Because of how this has been handled, I have filed formal complaints with the Texas Attorney General, my states Attorney General, and the BBB, and I will pursue this in small claims court if necessary.

If anyone else has experienced similar issues, I strongly recommend you do the same.

If you buy from Provident at all, use a credit card only so you have at least some protection. I trusted them to follow their own written policies, and I’m now out a significant amount of money on a stolen shipment.

Really disappointing. I won’t be purchasing from them again.

Never again. The first time I tried this company (owned by JM Bullion, oddly enough...why not just sell as JM Bullion?) they cancelled my order without explanation. I unwisely decided to give them another chance, this time with a much much larger order. Big big mistake. The market then took off, and my purchase made gains of many thousands of dollars. Instead of sending my metals in a timely fashion so I could possibly sell it at a profit they sat on it until the market dropped and now I'm deep in the red. Typical non-responses from "customer service", telling me they had no idea when they would ship a $60,000 order. If I spend 60 grand with you, you'd better be able to tell me when I'm receiving my purchases and not just blow me off. Unprofessional, at best. Their parent company is no better. I have made large purchases from JM Bullion only to receive bars advertised as new when they were definitely secondary market, which JM Bullion would not correct. Best to avoid these two companies altogether.

I purchased 10 ounces of silver not a big order but it was on May 17th nearly a month ago, I have sent two questions pertaining to the order the people at Provident have not responded ti either, I will NEVER deal with provident metals again. I have purchased hundreds of ounces over the years, they seem to be pretty horrible to deal with now days?

I’ve purchased silver and gold bars from Provident Metals over the last 7 years. I guess this stream of purchases set me up for the con. I recently bought a 1 oz Italpreziosi Gold Bar (New w/ Assay) from Provident recently.

The bar looks as though it was retrieved from a ship wreck. The assay card was peeled off even in the corners and the bar itself looked like it was beat up.

They were willing to honor their return policy but it had so many conditions and steps I gave up. Be careful if you buy any bar from Provident especially if it’s over $2000- you may get ripped off.

I just received my first shipment of silver krugerrands this morning, everything came packaged perfectly, the coins are perfect and shipping was as promised. I love the coins and will definitely order again.

Terrible experience with Provident Metals after 10 years of otherwise hassle-free purchases. Ordered 10 silver eagles in mid-December 2022, and an empty (untampered) box arrived one week later. Package was not insured with the carrier, and the 'internal' insurer refused to cover my claim. I have no recourse but to report this fraud to my financial institution, which is still doing its own investigation. AVOID this company. Something is or has become terribly wrong with Provident Metals.

Provident Metals is simply one of the best companies I've ever dealt with. My newest order was a 1 KG Silver bar and they shipped free and fast. I got a tracking number same day too. It arrived discreetly and well packed. They are very professional.

I ordered about $1,900.00 worth of assorted silver coins from Provident...and they never arrived!!! I called the company 3 times and sent 2 emails...I got no responses from their Resolution department after the 3 calls...Until I finally told the nice girl who answers the 800 number that I was going to take action if I didn't hear from someone by the end of the day. Someone from the resolution department finally sent me a response Blaming Me for not complaining sooner...I patiently waited about 3 weeks before I finally started calling... They sent me a document to sign making me promise not to complain again (as if I would ever buy from them again) if they gave a one time exception for waiting patiently before complaining!! I signed it and asked for an email to acknowledge that they got the signed document..No response. I finally went to PayPal, where I luckily made the purchase from...and filed a dispute... waited another 2 weeks for paypal to get a response from provident..no response..Then I escalated the dispute with paypal... Finally a week later paypal refunded my money...No explanation or apologies from Provident for my inconvenience...(They supposedly took my order to a Las Vegas post office... I got the tracking number...and according to the post office..my shipment never left Las Vegas. Stay far away from this company.

I love to buy here always have a great range of items of their own and from many more mints around the world. Always check here before buying anywhere else..

I received my first order from Provident Metals today. It was an order for 4 one oz silver coins and 2 coin capsules. When I opened the package I discovered that all 4 of the coin flips had not been folded and secured in the bubble envelope that was placed inside the box. All the coins had slid out of the coin flips and had been banging around inside. I was going to send in the 2018 incuse maple leaf to get graded but now that it has a scratch why bother. Provident Metals can't be bothered to fold a coin flip and use 3 cents worth of tape to secure it shut. I'll never buy from them again.

I ordered 10 5oz. bars and got them today. Nice! I recommend you choose UPS for shipping. Mine were shipped USPS and they were just left in my mail box which is located one mile from my residence out in the country. Their website stated that I had signed for it which I did not (falsified my signature).

Ordered 7 BU silver coins on 10/29. Paper check mailed 11/1. They received check on 11/8. Website said order shipped 11/12. On 11/13 I emailed them asking where the tracking info was. To them, "shipped" means that a label was printed, it does not mean they actually shipped anything. Two days after that I received tracking info. I received the order 11/19. Upon inspection I see that the 2021 Niue Athena Owl Stackable 1 oz Silver Coin BU coin has visible scratches on two different areas of the edge. Their response was that my understanding of a BU coin is flawed and I am to expect "slight marking". I have been ordering BU coins from silvergoldbull dot com for a very long time. I have never had any BU coin from them arrive with scratches like this. They offered to replace the coin and give me a $10 credit. I call BS on their BU grading and assume that they try this with new customers to get rid of their damaged stock. Due to this, their shipping speed, their misleading "shipped" status, I am going back to silvergoldbull.

I did a test and ordered two exact items from Provident and JM Bullion.

Ordered on save day within a minute of each other. Paid with ACK (Auto Check Withdrawal) and both took money out at the same TIME.

Order date was 5.10.21 -

On 5.17.21 my JM Bullion order was delivered.
My Provident Order was STILL PENDING PAYMENT.

Not impressed. Will not be buying from them again.

They send packages under $1000 without signature. USPS lost my package. Provident customer service started a claim for me and then closed the claim and refused to refund or replace. I then got a letter from USPS stating that they had indeed lost the package which I forwarded to Provident claims. They said their insurance underwriter still denied the claim. Horrible company to deal with. They never offered any help or suggestions. It's like once they get your money they don't care. Beware if your package is lost or damaged they will help you at their own discretion.

Failed to resolve shipping issues for my items. Over $600 worth of items were "lost" in the mail. I ordered on 29 Jan and am still awaiting a resolution. I was told that insurance has to "approve" the claim before I can get a refund or re-shippment. I asked for a refund and was told "no" we cant do that; to which I said "no you wont do that, you could if wanted too but you wont," a point to which their claims manager agreed with. Terrible customer service, I was constantly blown off by the manager/claims department whom refused to return my phone calls. I will never do business with them again. Save your money and go somewhere else the few bucks you save is not worth the headache. If I could give them less than one star I would.
