Proptech FX or “Prop Firm Experts” on Telegram. Complete scam. AVOID!
I found this company when googling online for a service to pass a prop firm challenge for me. I initially made contact on 15th Jan and they were very responsive on telegram. They claim to pass each phase within 8-12 days and have a pass rate of 92-94%. Once a challenge is passed the continue to manage your account and claim 15% of your net profit (after split with prop firm) . So far, so good to be true. I was passed over to a separate support channels on telegram and actually had a call with Sebastien who continued to answer all of my questions. They claim they have a number of traders based in Toronto and the US. These are supposed to be professional traders who trade manually. Clients like me have their accounts matched or trade copied to their system. I was good to go and my account opened with them on 6th Feb.
Initially there were 16 trades over 10 days, but the net results was a slight reduction on my 200K account to a balance of 195K. They had said their traders trade manually but the activity on my account suggested otherwise, all trades were on AUDUSD, all were on the hour every hour (suggesting an EA) and the patterns showed a grid strategy, where lot sizes doubled when a previous trade was going in the wrong direction. So this was a slight red flag but overall i wasn't concerned, I wasn't expecting linear progress to the 10% target of 220K. Then nothing...
No trades and the responses on both of their telegram channels started to dwindle. In fact their main channel where they posts results and success stories disappeared altogether. I asked where that had gone and they said they were simply relaunching that channel to better fit their rebranding, but I asked three times for the new Telegram handle and they did not provide it to me.
On 27th Feb they messaged to say there was a data corruption their side and whilst no security details were compromised, my account was not functioning properly. Then they messaged on March 1st to say to look out for broadcast messages on a third telegram channel, where they said they have had some further technical issues but I should see accounts by Thurs 7th or at latest Friday 8th March. I had no trades on those days and have had no trades since. In fact I had no trades at all between 16th February and 15th March, which is pretty incredible considering they claim to pass each phase in 10-12 days. Im aware of the recent Metaquotes licensing issues affecting the Prop firm market but my account was with FTMO who continue to offer MT4 and MT5, and if they are the size they say they are I would have expected some kind of work around solution from them - ie use of European VPNs, or a trade copying type solution, in any case they did not even mention this as a source of any issues.
I requested a refund on 14th March but no response. I messaged to say if still no trades by 15/3/24 i would reclaim control of my account and try and pass the challenge myself. Again no response. I was very impressed initially and thought this was a large scale, legit outfit with a strong business model, but its really just a a way to take money from clients.
Final proof was me setting up a new telegram account and messaging them on Saturday 16th March pretending to be a potential new client. I got immediate responses, and all the same slick sales patter. I asked whether they were always so responsive on customer service "yeah" they responded. "So why haven't have you responded to my trading buddy who keeps messaging you about his abandoned account?" and then silence. I suspect they have blocked both of my Telegram accounts
