Terrible doing business with them.

Cancelled the policy and they still charged me. Quoted 10 days before they would give my money back. Charged as if my vehicle was worth more, but undercut the value when it came time to cover it. They automated the system and it was difficult to talk to any real human when I had a claim. Jumped the rates to a ridiculous amount. In every way a bad experience working with them.

Juan J. Lopez- the most incompetent adjuster

I recently got into an accident that wasn’t my fault. A car failed to merge properly and drifted into my lane (their lane was ending, it was a ramp lane) hitting the side of my car shortly after I switched lanes to the left. I was confused in the moment and told the officer I wasn’t sure what happened but maybe they braked short when I was shifting lanes.

After seeing the damage to my car and the scene of the accident, I realized it’s physically impossible that I hit them because the damage was so obvious it was the side of my car.

I called progressive back and they allowed me to change my statement. Now, at this point, they kept reassigning claims adjuster to me so this was the second adjuster I spoke with and he agreed the damage supported my story that the other people hit me.

The third adjuster they assigned me to was Juan J. Lopez. And what a nightmare. Not only was he rude and unbearable, he was lazy and bias. Without reviewing the evidence he decided I was liable simply because of what I said in the initial police report (when I was nervous and traumatized from a car accident that happened moments before). He also admitted the other party also carried progressive (so let’s motivation for him to take this case serious) I asked him to explain how it was possible I hit them if my damage was on the side of my car and his only response was “I get the final say and my decision is final”.

Needless to say I’m having an attorney review the case.

I’ve had Progressive for years with no claims except glass and roadside assistance . I have always been happy with the ease of glass claims as we get A LOT of windshield damage on Phoenix highways. Roadside assistance has been 30/70- 30% excellent quick service and 70% of the time the providers and Progressive’s app will say they are on the way but keep changing the arrival time for up to 3 hours before they finally cancel on you and send another provider. Now after having a no fault total loss with them, I’m shopping for a new insurance company immediately. Horrible service, quick to undervalue your vehicle and cancel your rental car, slow to respond to questions about amounts and investigation (or lack thereof). Immediately raised my premium as well. Shady business practices and they definitely don’t care about their customers.

The roadside service is a joke

The roadside service is a joke. I broke down on the side of the interstate, put in a request for a tow. 20 minutes AFTER the tow truck driver was supposed to arrive they canceled the job and they had to dispatch somebody else. I’ve now been waiting two hours on the side of the interstate.

I rate it ZERO

If I could give a zero, I would. I took out a liability auto policy in February. I paid it up til August. I got the snapshot in and immediately put it in my truck. I got a bill from Progressive today saying I didn't fill out my paperwork online ( I did this the day I took out the policy) extra fee. They said I didn't use the snapshot (installed it the day I got it) and if I didn't return it by May, another fee. They said I didn't exclude drivers or PIP. I did that online when I took out the policy, another fee. They said I didn't choose email over regular mail that was another fee. I called and all the representative could say was, "sorry, the computer doesn't show you did any of this." I was on the phone with the representative when I filled all the paperwork out ONLINE! She even thanked me and said it was received. So, I can either pay all these additional fees or get a different policy. Will be shopping for one tomorrow! Stay away from Progressive is all I can say.

Huge shoutout to this team for their outstanding customer service. I managed to confuse the instructions more than once, but they stayed patient, supportive, and determined to help me get everything sorted out. Their website is easy to use, and their support staff is even better. In true NC fashion, they helped me “get ’ir done,” and I couldn’t be more appreciative. Highly recommend.

Progressive doesn’t actually cover damage done to your car

This company might be a little cheaper than some others but it’s for good reason. If and when the time comes that you need them to cover damage on your car you can forget it. After dealing with some woman with a 40IQ that was saying “there’s not enough evidence and witnesses to fix the damage on your car” I obviously had to switch insurance companies immediately

I worked at progressive back when they had a sales department

I worked at progressive back when they had a sales department before they went blending. Called today to verify coverage on various glass damages. I knew the differences from my sales days. I got transferred at least 3 times because no one could give me the answer which I knew. Good luck with customer service.

SCAMMING LEECHES

If I could give zero star I would. They added random person under my policy and claim to be potential household member. Have to call them and wait long time to remove the person they have added themselves. If I've never check my email they would leech my money off me and pretend like nothing happen. They said they sent notification but I didn't received anything. They can easily add random person under your policy but have to sign and get their permission to remove the person they added.

Absolutely the worst insurance company…

Absolutely the worst insurance company I’ve ever dealt with! The adjuster/agent that I was dealing with never gave me updates, told me times he’d call and never did and then denied my claim and I’ve had like 2 claims in 20 years!

I was just made aware the my policy was…

I was just made aware the my policy was changed with out my authorization.. because I have a brother who did at one time live with me and now since doesn't live with me and cause there was a possibility he could have access to my vehicle progressive as a whole choose to take appointment themselves to say hey this person might be in ur home .. and is possibly needing to be added to ur policy ... but unfortunately with out properly research one would know that person is not allowed to drive from mental restricted situations isn't allowed to drive. .. so the took it in there best interest to change my full policy and then blame me for the scam they are pulling ... how can one justify changing a policy with out authorization from policy hold ... even if they dont answer u doesn't give right to chamge it all then when I am available cause not like I dont have a life family or three businesses.. that now I have to do the leg work for there issues and scam policy.. so if u use progressive ur have no rights and they can do anything with ur policy that benefits them ... as u can see on my policy 993485942

Claim run around

03/27/26 , got tapped in rear by rolling car, no damage but bump knocked out all my sensors, claim filed for $3060.00 less $1000 deductible
Filed claim, repairs authorized by Mallisa A. Through Hyundai dealership
Repairs completed on04/02/26
Called Mallisa, said because repairs weren't done by one of their service centers she couldn't authorize repairs and it would have to be approved by higher ups.
Told her she authorized repairs and to honor claim. Said it was out of her hand
Called different progressive numbers and was told different stories
1) claim had to be approved by licensed adjuster
2) per licensed adjuster she said it had to be approved by the department that authorized repairs by 3rd party
3) tried calling Mallisa supervisor for 2 days, never answered his phone or returned my calls
After 6 hours on the phone between yesterday at noon when my car was done and hours today finally got the department that authorized 3rd party repairs
Said Mallisa never authorized repairs, they never had a chance to look at vehicle and claim not called in till 04/01
Said no no, claim called in on03/27
Spoke with Mallisa on 03/30 at the dealership in front of service rep who spoke with Mallisa when she gave the go ahead to start repairs
Guy from repair department said that not true as she didn't get claim till Wednesday 04/01
Told him not true and read an text from Tuesday the day before from Mallisa ok ing the repairs
Now he says they never got a chance to inspect vehicle
I told him the adjuster had since 03/27 to inspect vehicle at my house or the dealer
She never showed up
Now the guy says that they may not honor claim as there was no damage, no witnesses and no inspection
Told him the guy who tapped me took off and I couldn't follow him due to unsafe vehicle and I lost my power steering and brakes got abs light on and every other warning lights and car was unsafe to drive and that's all I needed was to get in a wreck with a defective vehicle
All this for a lousy $2000 claim less my deductible
Also no car for the weekend and Easter and I have 15 grandkids and 7 great grandchildren who live in Tucson and this may be the first year that I won't be going to Tucson to give out baskets
You think that they would care. Not

Progressive??? Not really...

Been with Progressive for 20 years. Added a rookie driver 2 years ago, cost me almost $500/month. All my friends were paying half that for their kids. Called, complained multiple times, finally got it reduced. Added my next child this year. Same result, had to go through the same process. Had an at fault at 7 mph. No vehicle damage. They let the other driver hold them up for over $15k in personal injury! Then raised my insurance to over $1300/month. Switched to Geico and I am only paying $730. Check your options people. Progressive will gouge you.

Why in the world would I'd be charged…

Why in the world would I'd be charged for making payments to Progressive 20 days early $5.00 more for a processing fee? My premiums aren't much for my motorcycle insurance, but damn! A processing fee for every single payment?? It's like asking your employer for a $5.00 fee for paying you! "Excuse me, Mr. Boss, but I'm going to need you to pay me a little more for processing your payment to me."

Fraudulent Company and no.help from custoner service or supervisirs that wouldnt even take the call …

I updated my policy after surfing the web to find a cheaper insurance since Progressive did renew my policy with a discounted rate it actually increased, then Ibsaw them on the web showing a cheaper rate than I was paying so I got a new policy and at the time I told them my daughter was excluded at the time of the new policy no one informed me that I needed to submit a exclusion form until I got a letter in the mail to sign excluding my daughter so I emailed the paperwork back then I got another letter stating I onky emailed the signed forms but thats all they requested so they had to remain me the same paperwork again so I received it and emailed again all the paperwork even writing on it stating to exclude my daughter. This month they double billed me stating they added my daughter charging me am additional 700.00 dollars stating I didn't submit my paperwork in time. Now mind you I had been calling them almost weekly and that should have been documenting at no point did any of the customer service people advise me that my Daughter added or that my rates increased due to me not sending in the information in time which was inaccurate, so they are scamming their customers thats why they only give you to autopsy. I did everything required and my last conversation was on March 25 after I received another letter from them asking me to get a record ftom DMV regarding my daughter's driving record still after uploading the dicuments requested, so why did they take out double my payments and automatically add my daughter amd they refused to take responsibility. Do not get Progressive just imagine if I got into a accident what wouldn't they cover fabricating something not to pay out. Worse company ever a rip off

Warning to TX Drivers: Progressive Uses Out-of-State Data & Misrepresented Models

I am giving Progressive 1 star for their deceptive valuation practices. I filed a claim on 01/30/2026 and I spent over two months fighting for a fair settlement on my 2-door 2011 Honda Accord Coupe. Despite clear evidence of local Texas market values, Progressive insisted on using 'comparable' vehicles from as far away as Missouri.

Even more disturbing, when I caught them using 4-door sedans to value my 2-door coupe, they admitted the 'incorrect configuration' error to the Texas Department of Insurance (Problem Report ID: 448369). However, instead of increasing the payout to reflect the actual market, they simply manipulated other data points to keep the final offer exactly the same. They weren't looking for an accurate value; they were looking for any math that would protect their bottom line.

They also used a baseless 'coverage investigation' into my airbag deployment as a delay tactic, which they eventually had to rescind. I was forced to sign my settlement 'Under Protest' just to end the financial stalemate. Do not trust their 'market reports'—they are designed to lowball you, and they will only acknowledge errors when the State is watching.

A dishonest and dishonorable scam

A dishonest and dishonorable scam. Despite never missing an insurance payment. Never having an accident and always driving safely. Spending thousands upon thousands on premiums only to be rejected on any claim. This is quite the scam, something to get customers to pay for an empty promise.
