I feel completely let down, lied to and scammed by Profile Packaging.
I'm shocked and appalled at the poor quality boxes I've received from Profile Packaging. When submitting my order their website told me the quality of the files I had uploaded was Excellent, and the proof they sent over looked perfect! It was such a smooth process and I was so excited to receive my boxes.
After waiting almost 3 weeks the boxes arrived and I was so, so disappointed. The print quality was beyond poor - it was speckled and looked like static on a tv, the text was blurry, there were visible printer lines and some of the boxes had marks on them! For the price I paid this just isn't good enough.
I always give the benefit of the doubt and assumed there had simply been a mistake at the warehouse, and they were accidentally signed off as 'perfect for shipping'. I contacted their customer service team and sent over photos of what I'd received, and asked if this was quality normal, and if not could they please reprint them.
First, they told me they were going to re-print a physical copy for themselves, as 'photos don't give them a clear image'. Which made me feel as though they didn't believe me. Side note - in my opinion reprinting a sample seemed completely pointless as the quality of the reprinted box could be much different to the boxes I received. For example, if there was an issue with the ink/toner when printing my boxes, and this had since been rectified then the re-printed sample would look completely different to what I've received. Since they had already dismissed my photos, from their end it would seem like there was no issue.
I do understand wanting to have a physical copy in the factory to be able to see what went wrong, but relying on a re-printed box to see if I'm 'telling the truth' didn't fill me with much confidence as a customer. I even offered to send them box so they would have a physical copy from the original order for inspection.
I was then told that according to their Production Team Leader 'speckling' was completely normal for their business as they use a 'fast pace CMYK print' and that the lines were from the nature of the cardboard used. This incorrect as I can clearly see that lines in the cardboard are perpendicular to the (printer) lines I was referring to - so already they're not above lying to their customers.
At this point I was so upset as they clearly believed this poor quality is acceptable, and they used every excuse they could to try and get away with sending such poor quality boxes. Although they did offer to reprint the boxes that had marks on them...
Nowhere on their website does it say that poor quality and 'speckled' printing should be expected due to using a face pace CMYK print. If 'speckling' is normal, then this is definitely something your customers should be made aware of prior to purchasing. All images of Custom Mailer Boxes on their website show smooth/blended colours with crisp edges - which they have admitted to me isn't how they look in reality. This is deceptive marketing and illegal. To comply with Marketing and Advertising laws in the UK 'you must describe your product accurately.'
When discussing this matter with them initially they were very responsive, but I have since requested a full refund and coincidentally I haven't heard back yet...
In conclusion Profile Packaging over promise and underdeliver. They don't accept any responsibility, and openly lie to their customers. I waited almost 3 weeks just for my order to arrive looking nothing like what was promised. I am aware on their website it says 'working days' but that is irrelevant as I those 3 weeks included 13 working days, and should have only taken 8-10 working days - as advertised on their website. It's even more shocking when you consider their orders are shipped with Next Day Delivery, so in reality they had 12 working days to produce such poor quality products. It's almost laughable.
The only disclaimer they had was at the bottom of the proof sent to me stating: "...colours on this artwork is purely a representation and is not what the finished product will look like." But this refers to the colour matching only, and not the print quality.
I was understanding and patient initially, but I'm so angry at how Profile Packaging treat their customers. They haven't even said sorry for causing so much disappointment and additional stress. A simple 'I'm sorry you're so disappointed, please be assured we will resolve this matter' goes a long way.
I run an independent crafts business and this order cost me a lot of money, so I will continue pushing until I am reimbursed.
I hope to hear back from them soon regarding when I can expect my refund.

Lovely bespoke printed paper gift bags we buy for fullfiling ecommerce orders - our boxes fit in nicely and easy to seal, yes still retail brown paper look on the folds, so reinforces our sustainable position at the company.
