I am selling a car and got a message…

I am selling a car and got a message from a husband and wife saying they want to buy my car and will only go through if I buy a car history report from prime inspectors. The guy was adamant and said he will reimburse me. However, This is a scam. Don't fall for this. If anyone wants to buy your car they should pay for the checks themselves. They go by the name of James Brown on their whats app and have a "care business". Wife's name is Kristina Brown.

Most probably a Gumtree racket to target private vehicle sellers

Someone called 'Wood Scott' (fake name) pretended to be very interested in my motorcycle, saying that they will buy it, 100%, only a prime inspector report is needed to finalise the purchase. "No, HPI is not good enough, you ignoramus, neither any other one, I need primeinspector, the one and only." (Not exact quote but sums it up). After the inspection files delivered (everything confirmed 100% fine), contact stopped, didn't turn up to viewing (fake reason given), then blocked. No apologies given, you are discarded the moment you pay. The number is likely spoofed, can't even call it - I genuinely believed his story and wanted to rearrange the viewing by calling back. I have grounds to believe that the commercial business behind his website runs a racket targeting vehicle sellers to be duped into buying the reports that are basically overpriced HPI checks (£30 a pop!). This should be reported to FCA or whoever licensed this shady business.
