Prashasta Events handled a 60th birthday party on 25 July 2026. 80-100 guests in one hall — small and simple, not a wedding. Booked two months ahead, ₹2,55,000 paid in full and on time. We never bargained once — ₹68,000 for the backdrop alone, paid without a word. This company advertises weddings. A one-hall birthday should have been the easiest job on their calendar.

ANOOHYA — THE PLANNER

- WE DID THE ₹25,000 OF PLANNING WE PAID FOR. The design direction, the layout, the memory wall — all ours. Her contribution was A-or-B options from a fixed catalogue, with nothing shaped around the person we were celebrating. In five weeks, not one original idea. I still don't know what the planning fee bought.

- THE DESIGN DIDN'T FIT THE ROOM. At 9 PM the night before we found the buffet tables laid straight across the bathroom doors. Not a tight fit — a literally impossible layout. Ten days earlier we had asked her in writing whether the bathrooms would stay clear of the food service; the answer was "sure ma'am." Her own execution manager had given her the blueprint weeks earlier and she ignored it. Her diagram doesn't mark the bathrooms at all. We redesigned the hall ourselves at 1:00 AM.

- THE PRICE ROSE ₹60,900 WHILE WE WERE REMOVING THINGS. First quote: ₹2,55,900. We cut a sofa and seven buffet tables, added a photographer and return gifts — simple math landing at ₹2,90,100. The "final": ₹3,16,800. The ₹26,700 gap: "Transport & Manpower" jumped ₹35,000 to ₹52,000 while furniture was being removed; the planning fee agreed at ₹25,000 was quietly raised to ₹30,000; and ₹4,700 appeared for 20 banquet chairs we'd told them in writing to take free from the hall. I demanded a line-item justification. Across five versions in four days that line ran ₹35,000 → ₹52,000 → ₹51,000 → ₹26,000 — same event, same week, no change in scope. A charge that vanishes when questioned was never a cost. And each time I caught a contradiction, messages disappeared: she deleted sent quotes and replies mid-conversation, twice within hours of being challenged on the numbers.

- SHE NEVER SET FOOT IN THE VENUE. She promised to visit herself, then sprang a ₹10,000 non-refundable "booking fee" never mentioned before. We paid at once on her confirmation — then it slipped, slipped again, and she sent her team and joined by video call. On the eve of the event she reconfirmed at 2:51 PM. At 5:58 PM we said we'd arrive at 8:30 to meet her; silence. At 6:39 PM she announced a family emergency. She never attended the setup, and never once stood in the room she was designing.

- ₹13,000 BILLED FOR A STAGE NEVER INSTALLED. The venue's platform is bolted to the floor. Their execution manager told her weeks earlier. She designed around a stage anyway and billed for it.

- SHE NEVER PASSED OUR DECISIONS TO HER TEAM. The sash colour we'd agreed on was never ordered. The flower theme never reached the execution team, so part of the floral work arrived off-theme. The return gift bags didn't fit: we sent exact dimensions and asked whether they'd hold; she confirmed twice without measuring. They didn't. At 7 AM on the day she asked whether we could hand guests the gifts loose, with no bag.

PRASHANT — THE OWNER

I requested a ₹37,000 refund on 29 July: the stage never installed, the planning never delivered. I sent him the complete WhatsApp logs. He picked up twice, said he'd read them, never found ten minutes, and now ignores me.

ONE PERSON CAME OUT OF THIS WELL: MURALI, THEIR EXECUTION MANAGER

He'd been to the venue and gave Anoohya the blueprint she ignored. When her plan collapsed at midnight he took ownership of a mess that was not his making — worked through the night sourcing replacement bags, offered to drive an hour to their godown at 2 AM for sash colours, and proposed the fix we used. After weeks of Anoohya's reflexive "ok sir" and "sure ma'am" attached to nothing, Murali actually did something. He should be running this company.
