I’d be utterly ashamed if one of my kids worked at a company like this. If they created one like this id probably disown them. The whole business model is based on exploiting people who are struggling... See more

Made to feel very uneasy

I sent an message via the 'Online Chat' and spoke with an agent called 'tracy' who when i asked questions to was unable to answer them and instead asked me to send bank details etc when i questioned the reason for this she stated that they hadnt actually been requested but she could speed things up?!? When i explained i was a little concerned as to why she was asking for this information and could she explain the reason why, my conversation was 'ended' by her?!?!? A little concerned and not confident i have made the right choice to use Pounds to Pocket.......

Experience with Pound to pocket

The only little bit of friction I have with Pound to pocket is that I think the interest charge is a bit to high, other then that I think very good, quick and smooth experience.

Very helpful

They were very helpful and nice about everything. The call centre staff in the States are especially helpful. They also have medium loans with very low interest rates (compared to the competition) so that is great. Finally, they have a great website too.

1st Class

I have been with the company for several months and, due to Christmas, had trouble making my December payment. After contacting the company, they couldn't do enough for me, very understanding and very helpful, a first class service!

I would have no hesitation, whatsoever, in recommending the company!

The Worst.

Well, I've used Pounds to Pocket for a couple of years now, having changed jobs in February I needed to change my payment date...

All of my other creditors changed this without issue, however, P2P decided it would take a total of 17 emails, numerous copies of wage slips and various bank statements before even CONSIDERING changing the payment date.

Obviously, this annoyed me.

Now, I've come to settle my account in full, all they could offer was a reduction of 4 pence on the total outstanding balance, I obviously declined this and will continue with the agreement and keep the money I was going to use to settle in full!

After this, I asked them to cancel my Continuous Payment Authority, I received email confirmation that they had, imagine my surprise when the payment was automatically taken.

I complained to Pounds to Pocket and got absolutely no where, the payment was going to be made on the date anyway, but they took the payment before my wage went in, causing another payment to bounce.

Were they apologetic? No. Would I recommend anyone within their organisation? No.

I've not ONCE spoken to anyone helpful, nor have I had any helpful interaction, the complete opposite to every other lender I've used historically.

Poor Customer Service

Conveniently lend you first time around..and a top up. However customer service is too poor and only when they want money they are quick to call and harass you every hour until they get a response. When they do get in touch and you make an agreement they fail to record it..and you get harassed all over again. Having been a loyal customer, the least I expect is decent customer service. Live chat is an absolute joke - no proper responses, and no proper answers to questions asked...simply copy and paste! A very unhappy customer!

WATCH OUT

WARNING this company will lend you money however do not rely on them to set up a direct debit as they will use your debit card to take payments and if your card expires during the loan and as they then fail to take money by direct debit they charge you fees and threaten you Pay them off and they then try to rip you off for a load of fees and charges they are not entitled to. Next they send out debt collectors and breach every code of practice going
Good company for giving money but useless at everything else customer service is a joke and they are very rude

Last Payment scam

Pounds to pocket have a scam. They always claim that your last payment couldn't be taken due to funds not been in your account. They then take it the day after and hit you with a late payment fee. They did this to me twice, even though I get paid every friday they still claimed the bank declined the funds request. My bank did not by the way because one wasn't even presented. They took the money the next day Saturday ???? and charged me a late payment fee. They have also done the same to a friend.
