Dear Pooh Corner Team,
Dear Pooh Corner Team,
I’m writing to share my disappointment following our visit today, which turned out to be a frustrating and disheartening experience for both myself and my family—especially my child, who had been excited for this outing tied to cherished childhood memories.
Despite some hesitation about visiting on a bank holiday, we checked your website beforehand and saw that you were open until 4:00 PM. To be certain, I attempted to call on five separate occasions between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, but received no answer.
We made the journey—over an hour long—and arrived just before 3:00 PM. Based on the signs displayed around the premises, we expected to be able to order food until 45 minutes before closing and teas or pastries up to 30 minutes before closing. By those standards, we were well within time.
However, we were surprised and disappointed to find the restaurant already closed. We asked the staff in the café, only to be met with a rude and unhelpful attitude. When I pointed out the timings clearly listed, the staff member passively dismissed our concerns and simply stated that because it was busy, “there’s nothing we can do.”
What was most frustrating is that, despite the claim of being busy, most of the tables were empty. It was clear that a simple tea or pastry could have easily been prepared—but staff appeared more interested in winding down early than serving customers. Frankly, it felt like a case of laziness and a lack of customer care.
After returning home, we also noticed price discrepancies on your website, adding to the sense that guests are being misinformed across the board.
This visit was something we had looked forward to for a long time, and we left feeling let down and dismissed. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Pooh Corner to others, and I hope you seriously reflect on how service and communication can be improved going forward.
