The company is good at selling, but when it comes to support, that’s where it ends. You get stuck in an AI-driven support loop with no real help. The plugins themselves are mediocre and the code is... See more

THEY GIVE YOU A TROJAN VIRUS

I registered with plug-in alliance and installed their ‘free’ products when native instruments announced their partnership with them, that was over a month ago, ONLY NOW, HAVE I JUST FOUND A TROJAN VIRUS ON MY PC, BECAUSE OF PLUGIN ALLIANCE! When I installed their products over a month ago, I could never use them, because even though I’d been given a free download of them, I never did get to use them as I would’ve had to pay for the licenses, when I did a scan on my device today, the Trojan was hidden in a file, in my AVID folder, but everything in that folder is from plug-in alliance, they are a scam, and dangerous, I don’t know how much info the perpetrators have taken and what they may do, but this has ruined my month, as soon as I realised I had a virus, I instantly thought of plugin alliance as they’re whole setup and process was weird, but I trusted them because they paired with native instruments, huge mistake, a shame for native instruments, and my suspicions were confirmed when I found someone else’s review by the name of Noah Strahn that also left a review saying they had gotten a Trojan virus from plug-in alliance.

Severe Trojan Threat from Purchased Plug In

I just got a couple plug ins from PA through a deal on Native Instruments. All was well until one of the PA plug ins installed something Defender was calling a trojan and a severe threat. Defender can be pretty shotty, but seeing other reviews of this company makes me pretty uncomfortable. I wouldn't go for PA if I was you, I have had great experiences on Native Instruments, Izotope, and Fabfilter. I'm not super familiar with a lot of vintage emulators, but I really recommend going elsewhere for your plugins.

Bad reviews maybe other companies…

All the bad reviews are probably coming from the other plugin companies because the issues described I have had with other companies but not PA . Everything I have purchased works and works well .Imo they are knocking it out of the park as far as price variety and ease of access . I received a coupon and got two pretty good plugins for almost free. Yes some plugins are not the greatest. But there are plenty of really good ones. One company that I won't mention I have decided to walk away from because of their system is a joke

Twice this company has taken money from my account without any purchase being made. First time was repaid after lots of chasing up. I put it down to an admin error but they've done it again and wont answer emails. It's a scam, don't give them your details.

Terrible. Don't buy here.

What kind of a terrible nonsense site is this. Everywhere bad reviews. I reckoned it couldn't be that bad, well I was wrong...

Tried to purchase a plugin on sale, kept getting an error about my country not being correct. After checking EVERYTHING, down to me calling my bank, this is not my fault. Its theirs. Their support literally just said after nothing works, oh well, just try again later. To which my obvious response was; but then the sale will be over.. To which their response was, that is too bad then..

I am not someone who like to crack plugins because music is my job. But if you have sites like this, no wonder cracking is so populair. Ridiculous..

They sold me a product that doesn’t…

They sold me a product that doesn’t work and made up some excuse as to why. When I asked for a refund, given it didn’t work, it was clearly their fault not mine, and it was a software product so hence no cost to them, they blanked me despite multiple emails. I was a repeat customer before but I will never buy a product from them again because their customer service is non existent and they don’t accept any level of liability for their own mistakes and errors.

Bad subscription renewal experience with Plugin Alliance

I had been a satisfied customer with Plugin Alliance for multiple years until recently (which is why I am still giving them two stars instead of one). They renewed my year-long $249.99 subscription that I did not want to renew. I contacted them the same day it was renewed to say I did not want the subscription but after multiple emails back and forth they still insisted on charging me. I then disputed the charge through my credit card company and got the charge canceled. For anyone dealing with a similar experience, I learned many states have recently passed laws regulating automatic subscription renewals which require things like providing notice before renewing a subscription. A couple resources I found helpful in this process were the Federal Trade Commission’s website: “Getting In and Out of Free Trials, Auto-Renewals, and Negative Option Subscriptions” and a document online called “Automatic Renewal State Laws Charts: Overview”.

Hard not to conclude this is a scam site

Very suspicious. Was on site looking at a $29.99 synth "deal" (bit odd because listing the price of synths as $299 (buy 2 get one free) - the "real" price is a fantasy - but formed an account to get the trial - all the reductions suddenly disappeared - no 2+1 deal and -now priced at $299 - then I wondered - did they price them at $299 so that people wouldn't notice the switch? I would avoid these folks like the plague.

Dirk Ulrich: lier and fraud!

Besides the manipulation of reviews, now increasingly more plugins are starting to be sold by other shops and we get to see the actual prices, it turns out the PA has been overpricing their products for years. All plugins that Ive seen in other shops are $10-50! Plugins PA has been selling for $300-400 for years. That $450 (excl tax) Amek console pluging, is actually a $60 plugin, including tax! Dirk Ulrich and his thugs have been lying and ripping off customers for all this time!

Wow, something has gone wrong for some, maybe a lot but not for me.

To be honest, I thought to write an honest review as I was checking some of the ratings of the companies I regularly interact with (purchase from basically) and I was taken back when I saw such a plethora of bad reviews for PA. I have been subscribing on the forever 29 plan for about 6-7 months and I have to say, everything is exactly what it should be. Apart from some of the Izotope and NI products no longer being available which is disappointing but all transactions from day 1 have been accurate and the products that I have downloaded/own/use have been exactly what was advertised and expected. Now I haven't had any need to speak to or make any contact with their customer department so I cannot comment on that side but seriously, and I realise against the grain but I have no complaints.

Don't let them hold your payment info

Used to be a solid company. Now they charge for annual subscription renewals with no warnings, no reminders, no receipts, and no refunds no matter how fast you catch it. As someone else noted, this is now illegal in a number of US states. Plenty of emails, plenty of angles, with no solution and a quietly closed support ticket. If you are still a user, I'd recommend removing your card from the site and manually paying as needed. The TOS read like they were written by a high schooler. Figures, since they're illegal in many places, but it's still sloppy to lean on holey TOS, especially with loyal customers you could easily have kept.

Non existent customer service. Don’t even read support requests

Non existent customer service. If you ever think you’ll need to interact with a person at this company then beware. They won’t even attempt to help you.

I tried to transfer a license and their system showed an error and said to contact support. So I used their contact form and filled in the issue including the error message. With the title “License transfer error”

I waited 10 days for a response from Plugin Alliance. By which time I’d refunded the buyer and gave up on the company ever responding.

They then responded saying support don’t do manual transfers and attached a link to their automated transfer page on the website. I could only laugh.

I waited all that time and they didn’t even bother to read my email or try to understand the issue. It couldn’t have been any clearer - their website was giving me an error and said to contact support. They completely ignored my problem and fobbed me back off to their website.

Absolutely zero interest in resolving the issue

The weirdest thing is Plugin Alliance will make money from license transfers. It should be in their incentive to support with this. Embarrassing

Disgusting service

Terrible service.

They have made it clear that Plugin Alliance cares more about money than it does its customers. It’s a shame they can’t be more like your competitors who have been an enormous help.

Needed a refund and they just said that I could sell some vouchers on eBay or something then just closed my support ticket. Now I'm $150 out of pocket.

Absolutely disgusting.
