Worst Experience Ever, Avoid Platinum

We hired Platinum to fix a roof leak, paying €2,500 for a bitumen replacement. The leak reappeared after the first heavy rain and remains unresolved today. Despite a guarantee, Platinum’s follow-up was marked by:

- Repeated cancellations and poor coordination – multiple missed appointments and unbriefed workers with conflicting diagnoses.

- Low-quality workmanship – even their own worker admitted the bitumen was substandard and replaced it, yet the leak persisted.

- Outsourced cheap labor with high mark-ups – Platinum has no in-house roofers. They search for the cheapest workers available, pay them low rates, and then charge customers premium prices. This is their main stream of income and business model!

- Refusal to honor warranty – after the leak reappeared, they failed to stand by their guarantee, repeatedly did not show up to fix it, and are not responding to communications.

- Paid-for positive reviews – they try to boost their reputation by compensating people for favorable Google Maps reviews, which misleads potential customers.

- Extra costs and shifting responsibility – we paid €500 for an external infrared inspection at their request, only for them to deny responsibility for the findings.

- Unreliable and unprofessional conduct – long delays, unkept promises, and sending an unaffiliated person who took payment for materials and vanished (later refunded).

After months of wasted time, effort, and money, the roof still leaks worse than before. We hired another company which perfectly detected the issue and fixed it in 1 day.

Never hire Platinum!

We had a roof leak in one of our rooms…

We had a roof leak in one of our rooms and contacted Platinum about eight months ago. After an initial inspection, they claimed the issue was with the bitumen layer and replaced it, costing us around €2,500.

Unfortunately, after the first heavy rain, the exact same leak returned. Since the service came with a guarantee, we contacted Platinum again. What followed was a frustrating and unprofessional experience lasting over three months:
1. Repeated cancellations — Most of their scheduled visits were canceled last minute.
2. Lack of coordination — The workers they sent were never informed of the problem in advance. Each one had a different theory, which only added confusion.
3. One of their own workers stated that the bitumen they installed was of very poor quality, and they replaced it again. We believed the issue was resolved, but the leak returned with the next rain.
4. They asked us to hire a specialist company to investigate using infrared scanning, which we did at an additional cost of €500. That company produced a detailed report identifying potential causes and fixes.
5. Upon receiving the report, Platinum claimed they were not responsible for those issues—despite failing themselves to identify the real cause after months of attempts and charging us €2,500.
6. Only after numerous emails and phone calls did they agree to carry out some of the suggested work—work they had originally requested—yet the leak persisted.
7. A month later, they sent someone (seemingly not even affiliated with Platinum) who convinced us to pay for materials, then disappeared with the money. Platinum later apologized and refunded that amount, but the trust was already gone.

Since then, we have had no further communication from Platinum, and the roof leak remains exactly as it was on day one.

We are now forced to look for a professional and reliable company to finally address the issue properly.

I cannot recommend Platinum under any circumstances. We paid €2,500 and received nothing but delays, poor workmanship, unkept promises, and significant wasted time and energy.
