Steel over stone for low temp ovens
Issue I always had with making pizza @ home was that the pizza was fully baked only the bottom dough was still raw and if you wait till the bottom dough is baked the pizza was really dry and kind of overcooked. This happens because normal ovens where I live go max to 200-300 degrees. Making pizza you need way higher temperatures. This Pizza Steel is a HACK to make really good pizza on low temperatures. It is like you bake pizza in 500-600 degrees oven with this steel. I really recommend it!
It cooks the pizza well and fast your dough isn't dry and it rises more then a normal oven plate.
Super product & service!
Great product with some issues.
I bought the Steel to fit in my Anova Precision Oven. It fits perfectly. I use it primarily to bake my sourdough breads. The problem is that the booklet is not translated into English and took a great deal of time to translate. Also the weight of the steel is tremendous, Which means, because the oven is a steam oven, I have to remove it out of the oven whenever I use the oven for other purposes when steam is used, which is almost always.
However, the bread recipe uses steam, and so, the steel has stains on it which I don't know how to remove.
The pizza handle is great. It's light and cleans easily, and removes food from the oven with no effort at all.
Great for cooking fresh Pizza on
Everything they claim is true
Everything they claim is true. I bought the biggest pizza steel with the peel bundle. It arrived super fast and with clear instructions on how to prepare it. What I found is that it works even better than I imagined. In a world full of elaborate claims, this one actually overdelivers.
I'm now making authentic napolitani pizza and real french baguettes at home. Everyone is very impressed with the results which in my opinion are better than the huge pizza stone i used to swear by.
Thanks for restoring my faith.
I received the steel and the peel…
I received the steel and the peel neatly packed together, looking perfect.
The steel has been so great for the few pizzas I made (and the 1 large bread). Now not only my dough actually cooks well but I even overcooked my first pizza cause even if it looked good on top, I did not expect the bottom of the pizza to be ready.
I had to chose between burning the top of my pizzas to get the bottom cooked, or eating undercooked dough, but not anymore. And it cooks pizza in half the time so if you make a few, the pre-heating time is not actually a loss of money. If you only make 1 pizza I suggest cutting the pre-heating time in half, it worked for me.
Product met all expectations
Product met all expectations and has been in heavy and regular use. Good quality and no problems with shipping. Recommended.
Great product!
Excellent!
Excellent, superb for bread baking and making pizza (watch the use of steam in your oven while bread baking, as it will lead to rust on the steel, so keep it clean and seasoned). I’m delighted with this purchase, and would warmly recommend it. Aidan
