DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I am extremely disappointed in this place. My Fiancé and I had to board our two dogs Oakley and Costa for the weekend 5/13 & 5/14 at the Mooresville location.
First, we were told when we checked them in it would cost us $50 something for the first dog and $30 would be the second dog discount. That sounded great! We were NEVER told up front that we would be charged and extra $20 per dog per day to board them because they weren’t fixed. Which is fine, and understandable, but the least you could have done was let us know upfront. Instead we were blindsided when checking out.
Second I paid for them both to get the ultimate dog wash before I picked them up. They were scheduled to have their baths at 7:00 and 7:30 so they would be ready to go when I got there at 8:00 to get them. I walked in just a little after 8:00am and the gentleman(I believe his name was Dustin and he was wonderful!) at the front desk let me know that the groomer had just taken them back to get washed. They did not get finished with their baths until 9:26. The ultimate dog wash is supposed to include a wash, dry, brush, nail trim, and ear cleaning. And that is NOT what they got. Neither of them smelled clean. They were still damp, both had big tufts of hair all over them that you could easily reach down and gently pull off with your hands making it very clear they hadn’t even been passed over once with a brush, neither of their nails were trimmed, so I’m certain if they couldn’t even do that that their ears weren’t cleaned either. I spent an hour after work today brushing them myself when I had paid for them to take care of it. I did get my money back for the unsatisfactory grooming, but that doesn’t make up for the rest of the horrible experience or that it made me extremely late for work today .
Third, I checked the web camera every thirty minutes to see if my dogs were getting the attention and outdoor exercise that I was paying for and not ONCE did I see them outside of their kennel. I watched them pace the kennel ( the third one from the left side of the dog pool from the breezeway camera perspective) the entire weekend. I know they are not fixed and couldn’t play with the other dogs, but to pay an extra $80 for them to not be fixed they deserved some outdoor time too.
Fourth, I received a “pawgress report” for only one of my dogs (Costa) , which I thought was strange but tried not to think anything of it. But once I got home from having them boarded I noticed that Oakley has a terrible limp and is avoiding using his front right paw. Which leads me to believe that they just avoided sending me his report letting me know that something had happened to him.
I have to take him to the vet in the morning to get X-Rays for an injury that he very obviously got from Pet Paradise.
I will never be bringing my dogs back here. For $354 for two days of solitary confinement and a half ass bath it was not even close to worth it.

A pet paradise indeed !

Willies Pet Paradise is the best pet stay where I have left my pet. Great open space for the dogs to run around and friendly staff with who the dogs seem to be super comfortable will be very visible as soon as you are inside. The food and grooming services are good and the dogs seem to enjoy both. The daily videos that the staff send across is very reassuring for us.
The concept of a cafe inside for pet loving people is a great idea. It is great that they have a complimentary swimming class for dogs staying more than a week.
In fact, one of my relatives said they would prefer to be a dog if they get such royal treatment as my pet !

Pet Parents be cautious when boarding at Matthews location

We have used Pet Paradise for many many years but usually the airport location. We started using the Matthews location and assumed they would take the same care of our fur babies with the same attention as the airport location who has someone on-site overnight. Unfortunately to our dismay our travel plans were changed out of our control to return by 5pm on Sunday 04/30 and we quickly let that location know and they let us know they have no one on-site overnight at the Matthews location and would have to charge us another day. The issue was not the extra days charge but the fact that we just learned our fur babies are in their crate area for over 13 hrs with no one to allow them to relieve themselves so in turn they have to relive themselves in the crate they stay in which is absolutely unacceptable- We cannot believe that one no one is on-site overnight for not only security reasons to ensure our pets safety but they are allowing these poor helpless animals relieve themselves in the same area they sleep for that amount of time..Parents beware before attempting to board them at this specific location.

My dog got bite by another dog and…

My dog got bite by another dog and apparently the staff cannot tell me how the incident happened. I would not advise anyone to take their dog to that place. And on top off all that my dog went through the manager was very unprofessional and put one off her staff member to called me and tell me do not bring my dog back to pet paradise because there do not want to take responsibility for the damage done to my dog. I took my dog to Banfield where she received staples, and medication.

I took my 12 year old Shih-Tzu to be…

I took my 12 year old Shih-Tzu to be groomed and got a call that she had fallen off the grooming table, and that we should watch her. We ended up taking her to our Vet. She had two broken bones in her jaw. One on each side. It has been over a month since this happened. So far I have had to pay all the Vet bills even though they said they would take care of this. I have to prepare special soft food for her. I had to buy a small blender for this. She couldn’t wear her harness because it went over her head so I had to buy another harness. She needs grooming still but I can’t get her groomed with a broken jaw bones. I have had my dog since she was 8 weeks old. Now she is handicapped for the rest of her life. I am 72 years old and I am also handicapped. They will only pay for her vet bill even though they were negligent. I would never recommend Pet Paradise Richmond Airport to anyone that loves their pet. They said that they will only pay her vet bill, and they are sorry that this happened.
By the way our Vet did not recommend that we put her down. She is still the best dog in the world.
UPDATE: I just got off the phone with my Vet. They have sent over the records for Princess, my dog, twice along with the bills I have payed. They gave me who they sent that to and the dates. Apparently they have lost them. My Vet is resending this again!

First time dog boarding and they forgot to bathe my 3 dogs

It seems that my dogs fared well for their first time boarding at the Cedar Park, TX location but when I picked them up at 4PM on Monday 2/20, I was informed that the staff forgot to bathe my 3 dogs. this would be a bad thing for any boarding experience but to do this to a first-time customer is especially wrong and unexpected.

It was my first time brining my dog for a groom. I called the morning of and was able to get an appointment. They made the process extremely easy and the entire staff was very pleasant. I have a Goldendoodle and I’m really picky about his cut but they did exactly what I asked for. They are very affordable but don’t skimp on the quality of work or their customer service.

My Dog was Bitten by Manager's DOG!

On Sunday, September 11th, I received a call from the resort manager, Lauren Flournoy, that my blind 27lb. Labradoodle, Jack, was in a "scuffle" with another dog and that the other dog nipped at him.

Here's Lauren's story:

Lauren Flournoy called the dog's owner and her Regional manager who both told Lauren she had complete authority to give Jack any medical attention that was needed. Lauren determined that no medical attention was necessary.

Here's what REALLY happened:

Lauren Flournoy called the dog's owner and her Regional manager who both told Lauren she had complete authority to give Jack any medical attention that was needed. Laure Flournoy FORGOT TO MENTION:

1) It was Lauren's own dog that bit Jack
2) Lauren's dog is an 85 lb Golden Retriever prone to seizures
3) There was no VET onsite that day so Lauren would have had to take Jack to another Veterinarian where the perpetrating dog (her dog) would have been revealed
4) Lauren Flournoy chose to protect herself and her dog rather than get my dog necessary medical attention.
5) Never contacted myself or her manager to say she was opting to do nothing

Another employee working that day said she was crying when she saw Jack and cried again when she got home. I returned home the next day and when I landed there was a voicemail from the Veterinarian onsite stating she was concerned about Jacks wound and wanted permission to shave his neck. I drove straight to the facility where I authorized this immediately thinking that would have been the first step the day before in determining the extent of the wound. The Vet shaved him and there was a bleeding puncture the size of a dime that looked like a bullet hole and a second smaller puncture about 6 inches higher. It was at this moment that I realized it was a very large dog that bit Jack. Jack received stitches, a drain port, antibiotics and a cone. Unfortunately infection had set in very badly since the wound was left untreated and Jack ended up with 4 drain ports in his neck, 5 medications twice daily, change of dressings 4-6 times daily and a multitude of stitched for 40 days.

My questions to Lauren Flournoy -

Q) Why was there such a large dog in with the small dogs?
A) Sometimes we let Senior dogs in there when the large dogs are rowdy

FACT: It was HER dog. Her dog is 4. Her dog is prone to seizures which can make even a Golden Retriever aggressive.

Q) Why didn't you get Jack checked out immediately?
A) I saw the picture the Vet took after she shaved him. The wound did not look that bad the day before. It must have stretched.

FACT: Lauren is not a Veterinarian. There was enough blood to make another employee cry. There was no Vet onsite that day so Lauren Flournoy would have had to take Jack to another veterinarian and would have had to report her own dog. Selfishly, Lauren chose not to.

The employees of the veterinarian clinic called almost daily to check in on Jack. Other employees from the resort, including grooming called frequently to ask how Jack was doing. Not Lauren Flournoy, the Resort Manager, the one who made all bad decisions. She didn't call once. I asked that someone above Lauren get involved and I received a call from her Regional Manager. I was told there was an investigation going on. I took Jack to get his stitches out and he was greeted by a dozen employees! Lauren at one point walked into the reception area, looked at me and kept on walking. I was furious. I took to Social Media where it seems to be a common belief that Pet Paradise is not a well run machine. I received a call from the Regional Manager stating the investigation was wrapping up and they would give me the result of their findings by weeks end. He pleaded with me to take Lauren Flournoy's name off of the posts as they feared for her safety. He told me there are activists that do not take to those things kindly. What things? The truth? As a mother myself, I didn't want to see anyone in danger, so I removed Lauren's name and replace with Resort Manager. I also took down a few local posts. The weeks and came and went. I finally received a call the following Tuesday and the "Investigation" concluded that Lauren will take some additional training classes and that moving forward there will be pictures taken of any injuries at the time the occur.

ARE YOOU KIDDING ME???? Lauren lied to everyone about everything to protect herself and her own dog. What kind of Manager is that? What kind of leadership is PET PARADISE promoting? My dog's life was on the line and Lauren Flournoy didn't even say she was sorry. I understand that people make mistakes. She made a multitude of bad decisions. She put herself and her dog before her company and its clients. PET PARADISE determined that the fact that I told Lauren to do whatever she thinks is necessary for my dog, this is somehow MY FAULT.

PET PARADIDE.... SHAME ON YOU

Pet Paradise is Not Safe

I would first like to start off my review by stating that the facility is very pretty but that is as far as it goes. I went on a weekend cruise and made a reservation for my two dogs with Pet Paradise. One of my dogs is a pitbull while the other is a small-medium sized lab mix dog. Upon returning from my cruise, I was informed by Pet Paradise that my dogs got into a fight resulting in my lab mixed dog being brutally attacked and in need of emergency care, which was very expensive. His neck and ears were completely bloody with puncture wounds. Their story was very inconsistent and they claimed to not have any cameras in the rooms with kennels, which they stated the incident occurred. They told me that they found my dog in a pool of blood with no camera footage. That shows complete negligence.

Shortly after the attack, the Assistant Manager brought my pitbull outside to interact with 3 other dogs to see if he was still aggressive. How is that safe?! If my pitbull allegedly caused this attack, why would you bring him in the presence of other dogs endangering them? They informed me that they were fully booked the day of the incident, which means that they were under staffed and overbooked the dogs, which again proves that their facility is not safe for dogs.

When I brought my dogs home, there was no animosity or aggression towards each other. My small lab mixed dog was not anxious or fearful of my 100 lb pitbull. There is no way that two dogs who allegedly fought each other would not demonstrate signs of anxiety or aggression towards one another. They sleep and eat next to each other with no signs of even food aggression. To reiterate, my pitbill is 100 lbs and my lab mixed dog is 30 lbs. If these two dogs actually fought one another, I doubt that my lab would be alive as my pitbull is three times his size. I truly believe that my dog was attacked by another dog and my pitbull later intervened. My pitfull had little to no scratches on him and his fur is white.

Prior to this incident, I brought my dogs in for the free day camp. When I brought them home, my pitbull could hardly walk due to all four of his paws being raw from the AstroTurf outside by the pool and my lab mix had diarrhea and needed to take antibiotics for 1 week.

Pet Paradise is a clean and pretty facility but it is not a safe place for dogs nor was I told the true story as to what happened to my poor dog. During my phone conversation with the Assistant Manager, she apologized and did not want to lose me as a client. If my dogs truly fought each other, one being the aggressor, why would you want them back in your facility? Does that not endanger the safety of the other dogs? I cannot trust a facility that would allow an "aggressive" dog to return to their facility. That is simply not safe. I honestly would not recommend anyone to bring their dogs to Pet Paradise. I would hate for anyone to deal with the emotional turmoil of having one of your dogs attacked with little to no evidence to reassure you.

Impossible to get hold of anyone…

Impossible to get hold of anyone working there. Tried online chat, called the corporate number, and called the direct line for my local Pet Paradise. Couldn’t get ANYBODY to respond. All I wanted to do was update my credit card info and it was impossible. Also can’t get in touch with anyone when I have a concern about my dog while he is in their care. Would be nice if someone answered the phone!

Great place to board our pets

Great staff, management, and facilities. They cared about my animals the entire time they were in their care. I reviewed the cameras and saw my dogs having a blast in the play yards.

My favorite kennel by far!

I have never trusted a kennel more than I do Pet Paradise! We happened to check in on the live camera feed on our dog's final day at the resort and, coincidentally, he was out doing his one-on-one play time. There were 4+ staff members with him, one of them even IN the pool, loving on him and giving him their undivided attention. Seeing this made me feel so at peace knowing my dog was safe and happy.

My dog was given to another patron!

Brought my 12 pound laso apso mix in for a grooming. When I arrived to pick him up, he had been given to another patron who had a dog with the same name, Harry. Granted, the other owner was very old and didn't notice he had the wrong dog! My Harry was returned by the man promptly after they called him and informed him he had the wrong dog.
The grooming? Around his ears was choppy and uneven. His little paw pads had untrimmed clumps of hair hanging off.
I had requested a tooth brushing and wasn't charged for it. Receptionist said either it wasn't done or groomer forgot to put it on his bill.
I was reimbursed for all charges, but I won't trust my dog to go there again.

Would give zero stars if I could

8/20/22. Forgot to feed my dog.
9/8/22. Left my dog in the kennel from 8:00 am till
After noon time. Then about 39
Min of playtime

9/18/22 no social playtime with other dogs. According to manage they did not have any dogs of his size to play with.
He’s an 5 month old Great Dane about 50
Lbs. mgr said he was to rough with large dogs. Gimme a break. Asked mgr if he was aggressive. No he was just acting like a puppy , pawing etc.
Said they did a one on one. Did not see him on camera with a one on one. Mgr says he was outside with no cameras.
3 strike you out pet paradise. Be aware folks. Check cameras to make sure your pup is not sitting in a kennel all day.

Misrepresentations; Disappointing!

I went in a day before taking my dog just to find out about their services the costs. I was disappointed once I brought her to find out that she only had an hour of play with other dogs and that had to be paid for separately because it was represented very differently to me at the beginning.

Also I was told that she could see the vet the day that I brought her in but she wasn’t seen that day nor the next day and not until about 3 o’clock on the third day all of which time she was kept from any other dog contact. I had been assured after she had not been seeing the first two days that she would be the first dog that the vet would see on the morning of the third day yet she wasn’t seen for almost 8 hours after the day began on the third day.
The rooms are just cinderblocks there’s not much of anything in it and my dog is used to and likes a lot of people and dog interaction. Needless to say I won’t be taking her back.
