Absolutely exceptional customer service. I ordered a fencing jacket and breeches at 2pm and they arrived the next morning, with a 10% discount on the house. Very high quality products with a premium feel and perfect fit. The best fencing brand I have dealt with.
I’ve found PBT to be a good brand which makes it disappointing that dealing with Ian, the UK distributor, has been so poor. I found him rude and perhaps unable to acknowledge or understand what the data handling issue was even when it was broken down and explained.
It’s unfortunate that he is the sole distributor for PBT in the UK. As a result of my experience I have chosen to take my business elsewhere and purchase from Leon Paul and Allstars instead. In fact I’ve already placed an online order with Allstars and found their service to be excellent.
PBT could likely see an increase in UK sales if another distributor was allowed to offer their products here in the UK. Not only would it offer more choice to customers but it might also encourage better service standards through healthy competition.
PBT UK sell complete junk, and the guy running the store is incredibly rude and unhelpful e.g.:
- Guards where the paint is chipped off / was never on / has been poorly applied and that are 'rough' to the touch inside like
very fine sandpaper with sharp blotches on them (so likely to wreck your glove);
- Grips that haven’t been manufactured properly and don't even fit the PBT blades bought from the very same shop.
Worst thing, when you point out the problem the guy running the shop ("Ian") is outright rude and unhelpful, even when you send photos showing that it's 100% a quality / manufacturing issue.
There's something wrong with this guy, as well as the products he sells.
PBT Hungary are super helpful though, but they can't ship to the UK due to their agreement with the guy that runs PBT UK (their UK distributor) - such as shame .................
Save yourself the hassle and just buy Leon Paul unless you end up in Europe and can buy locally outside the UK.
