I have used Patra for more than 25 years and always loved their silk base layers. However my latest order was very disappointing, very skimped on size, sleeves are much shorter and so is the overall length so they won't stay tucked in anymore. I have just seen they are closing down this year but I wouldn't have used them again anyway.
Customer Service is EXCELLENT!
I am SO sad Patra are closing down - their Customer Service is EXCELLENT! I made an order and put down the wrong postcode which resulted in my parcel being lost forever. Patra refunded my money even though the error was entirely mine and not their fault.
If the people who run Patra start a new business I'll be there on day one!

We ordered two pairs of mens pyjamas and when they came the quality was awful.
The material was very thin.
One of the pyjamas had a 35" leg and the other was31" ,they were supposed to be 32"and when I phoned customer service I was told to just sew them up on a sewing machine.
Really badly made and customer service appalling.

I ordered a medium size black silk wide strap vest. Medium size which should have fitted me perfectly. (Size 12 to 14) However it is huge, measuring approx 39” under arm and much bigger than my previous purchase. I can’t wear it with sweaters. After reading bad reviews about their customer care I can’t be bothered to return it so perhaps I can wear it under a loose fitting dress or give to a larger friend!
Worst phone agent experience ever
I've been a customer of Patra Selections for many years, especially for underwear, They've sent catalogues and orders to my current address for 8 years. My last order this July was for some unknown reason sent to an old address of mine from 10 years ago. I'd paid for fast delivery because I was about to leave on holiday.
Patra did leave a phone message to let me know the package had been returned.
None of this would have been the end of the world, except for the totally unhelpful attitude of the sales agent when I rang up to work out what had gone wrong. This is the most unpleasant phone experience that I have ever had in my life. There was no interest in working out how this had happened, and I was accused of wasting Patra's money on postage (having already paid handsomely for next day delivery). Patra, you need to be checking on the quality of your phone service with customers - it is never a good idea to enrage customers. This is one customer that you have lost - I just can't trust you to send orders to my current address or that you will be helpful over putting things right.
Good design & Quality Dress
Although delivery was rather slow on all my items I was pleased when my size 10 striped bamboo dress arrived. It is a good length even though I’m 5’3” I love the sleeve length to elbow & the whole cut is flattering with a bit of a flare & pockets. I am ordering in pink too I like it so much. I don’t understand the really negative reviews & am pleased too with the customer service I received so far so have ordered some more sales items.
Very disappointed as a long time customer
As a long time customer, I ordered 4 pairs of knickers, two pairs of which were a silk and cotton blend. I already have two pairs exactly the same only older from Patra so assumed they would be same. Unfortunately, the size L which has always fit, was very small. I am still the same size 10. Foolishly, I wore them, thinking perhaps they would stretch. They didn't so and now, of course, I can't return them. I spoke with a woman in Customer Services this morning and I can honestly say it was quite a disappointing experience. Never before have I spoken with such an unhelpful and unpleasant agent.

Great design and fit
Well designed and made in sensible lengths, these garments are so much better than the "fast fashion"we are offered elsewhere.A good mix of casual and more formal styles.
Great Customer Service
I bought a lovely shirt and it was delivered within 24 hours. Admittedly I did pay for express delivery but that guaranteed delivery within 48 hours. To receive it within 24 hours and on a Friday gave me peace of mind, given that I bought it for an event 7 days from now.
All the items I have bought from Patra are stylish and of high quality.
Excellent service and garment
I ordered two dresses, the striped summer viscose shirt dress and the bamboo cotton striped dress. I am very pleased with the shirt dress. Material is viscose..cool material for summer, perfect midi length, pockets and nice short sleeve. I wear it with a belt and it looks fab. It is well made and good quality.
The bamboo cotton striped dress unfortunately was too clingy and sadly didn't suit me. So I posted it back. There was a problem with the delivery of my return but this was due to courier issue. Patra were brilliant and sorted it for me and I was given my refund. I appreciated the prompt and efficient way it was handled. Highly recommended.

My first order was a present for the wife, a silk collar, a 'dicky' as I would call it. To be transparent I wanted to see if the garment, only one size, would fit me! It did so my subsequent orders were for garments in my preferred colours.
The delivery was well within their schedule. Also the silk garments are first class in all aspects.
Well done Patra team.
Out of Pocket. Matter resolved
An error occurred with my online booking. There was no on screen acknowledgement of the order. I received no email confirmation and after 3/4 days no payment was taken from my bank. I therefore asumed the transaction had not taken place. I submitted my request again. This time received acknowledgement and email confirmation. A few days later my parcel arrived. The money had been taken out of the bank. 3 days later I received a second parcel with the same order. When I contacted the firm they said I could send the one parcel back for a refund. Fair enough. BUT I have had to pay £5.30 to do this. They would not issue me with a return label. Would not offer any other goodwill gesture. I am out of pocket because of their system and I will not be buying from them again.
I have now heard from Patra and they have kindly offered to refund the amount for the goods and the cost of my postage. I am pleased to accept this and I think the company has done the correct thing. I look forward to dealing with them in the future.

This is a lovely company with good service. I ordered an item that wasn't brilliant quality, but had no problems with communication. They resolved with no issues.
When things do go wrong at times, some customers can be rude, arrogant and demanding to staff as seen on reviews here.
I really appreciated the good service I received and will continue shopping at Patra Selection.

Bought a selection of belts from this company. Clasp broke - hardly worn but not in guarantee period. Avoid

Clingy
I ordered a dress from an advert in You magazine, described as Bamboo Cotton, it was not! Came described as Jersey. I have some other clothes sold as Bamboo Cotton and feels like cotton This was clingy, not my style at all. Misrepresentation.

Unsolicited mail
I received a catalogue from this company with my name and address shown. I had never heard of this company nor requested a catalogue. I called customer support who informed me they had taken my details from Abacus Mailing List (never heard of it) and that they would take me off their records. I don't think it's very ethical to send your catalogue to people at their home address, when they have not specifically provided you with their personal details nor requested a catalogue.

Faulty goods and poor after care
I bought a silk polo neck vest for my husband. It was faulty and Payra replaced it. The new one had the same fault.
I was not given a choice about compensation- just sent a cheque. I asked if they could do a BACS transfer because it’s hard to pay a cheque into my bank. Patra have refused.
Patra supplied the faulty garments so I think they should compensate me in a way that works for me.
Having read Patra’s reply I would argue with their account on two points.
1. They have been clear both on the phone and in writing that BOTH garments were FAULTY.
2. I ordered replacements BEFORE Patra refused to pay the refund in a way that would not cost me time and money to use.
It’s disappointing that Patra have not been completely accurate in their reply.

had to return a garment - very poorly fitting !!
Catalogue says get record of return delivery.
After a few e mails it became clear that return of ANYTHING WAS AT THE CUSTOMER'S COST. I asked to be credited the £5.50 for the Recorded Delivery .....
- which they insist on for their proof of return.
Garment cost refunded ( but will need to be checked on CREDIT CARD Statement.)
I think the supplier is trading in a deceitful way.... NOWHERE Does its say returns are at your cost. I will NEVER buy from this catalogue again . I wonder how many customers would queue up to trade if it said " ALL RETURNS AT YOUR COST"

When inquiring on the phone about how the garments have been treated to achieve EASY-CARE, I received a rather rude answer from the lady on the phone, possibly because she hadn’t understand my question. Then the call was suddenly interrupted.
