Not shipped after 4 weeks

They're just too slow, 4 weeks after placing order online they still have not shipped. Of course they tell you they are overwhelmed with orders and there will be significant delays AFTER you place your order. They're just shady and hold your money. Avoid.

WARNING!!

WARNING!!! TOTAL FAILURE!!!

- I was threatened with legal consequences because of a Google review.

- To all disappointed customers: report your cases to the consumer protection agency!!!

- Waited 2 months for my plants. The majority never arrived.
- I demanded my money back several times - then nothing happened for weeks.
- Only with the threat of a criminal complaint I got my money back.
- Of the few plants delivered, many were almost dead (even drought-resistant plants)
- My messages were ignored for weeks. Despite several requests, I never got an answer about when to expect the delivery.

Conclusion: Do not order under any circumstances.

Waste of time, they don't fulfill orders

Bought 2 plants by the end of March, couldn't get a positive response as to shipping for 3 weeks, then they cancelled my order and I haven't received my money back yet (it's already after deadline). Looks like the company is collapsing because the reviews are diving everywhere. Their trustedshops insurance option doesn't work. I bought the same plants from competition and the plants came in healthy and safe in 3 days so it's definitely not a matter of low temperatures.

Plants dead on arrival - no response

Ordered two cypresses last year. When delivered the plants suffered from lacking water and were dying.
Agreement was made with Der Palmenmann that one of the plants were refunded. If the plant died this year I could pay the refund back and receive a new plant free of charge.
This spring both cypresses are dead, photos sent to Der Palmenmann, with wishes for having them replaced with new 1 meter cypresses.
I have sent several mails which have been ignored for weeks.
All in all a indecent experience.

we are sorry that you had a bad experience with us. I've read the mail history with you and my colleague. We actually made a full refund for one of the two cypresses in August so that you can use this money to order new ones in case the cypress won't recover. She never confirmed that you can order new ones without any shipping costs. Unfortunately we can't refund those costs.
I will sent you a private e-mail to explain this case to you again. I'm sure that we'll find a solution.

Poor plant quality, PESTS ! (mealy bugs & scale)

The plants I received were in very poor shape.
A syngonium erythrophyllum with pale leaves (usually very dark green) which probably hadn't seen light in a while, hoping it will survive the trip ; a philodendron subhastatum with pretty much no intact leaves (all were heavily damaged prior to transport), a begonia which died a few days after delivery ... Extremely disappointed, will not be ordering again.

Edit: after further inspection, both the philodendron and the syngonium erythrophyllum have mealy bugs, and the syngonium macrophyllum has scale. Treated & isolated both again (had already done it by precaution) & hoping they will make it

thank you for your feedback. Of course, no delivery should arrive in this way! Logically, the plants do not get as much light this time of year as in the past months, but they should of course be brought on their way healthy and alert. To what extent do you think that the leaves of the philodendron have already been damaged before the transport?
Feel free to contact our customer service, who will find a suitable and fair solution! We do not want you to leave your order with such an uncomfortable feeling and think that we do not send high quality plants!

Careless service killing new plants

I‘ve ordered 4 moss kokedamas and asked Palmenmann when should I expect delivery because in a week I was planning to go on holiday. I have received email after few days says that they don’t know when the delivery will come.

I went on holiday and the parcel arrived to the delivery station. My plants spent 6 days wrapped in plastic and surrounded by plastic in tightly closed paper box. When I finally took it, it was full of rot and had horrible smell. I was very upset for the plants.
As the result of keeping plants in the box - the have begun to die.
I wrote Palmenmann another email asking for advice whether I should repot them or even send them back, but I have never heard back from them.

Very irresponsible and careless service. I’m disappointed and don’t recommend to order anything from Palmenmann.

P.S. It’s the easiest way to blame someone, however if I knew the APPROXIMATE date of delivery, I could arrange the pickup with neighbors or write power of attorney. As you can see it many costumers reviews, Palmenmann service is not as good as it supposed to be. And it’s complete lie that the reply via email takes 2-3 days! They have never replied since 17.09.
Why would such a big company care about single costumers (who would never return to them)?
Be aware! Read several review on Google and you will know it’s not worse to order from that company!

thank you for your feedback. The best way to contact us is through our WhatsApp service, where you will receive a response within 24 hours. Apart from that, you will receive an answer to your mail after just under 12 hours, not after a few days.

I can understand if you are disappointed. Nobody wants to take rotten Kokedamas out of the box. Surely it was not correct that nobody from the customer service answered your last mail, for this I apologize to you.

To show the chronological sequence of your order:
We received your order on Saturday, which was paid the following Monday. On Thursday of the same week you went on vacation, so our indicated delivery time fell into this. Since we call delivery times of 5 to 7 working days, we kept our delivery promise with the delivery on Friday of the same week.
In the end, it should be noted that the condition of the Kokedamas was very good at the beginning of the shipment, but not anymore at the date of pickup. Therefore the chronological order was responsible for the well-being of the plants.

As mentioned before, I understand your excitement about your plants not arriving as expected, but in my opinion the irresponsibility in this case is not ours, even if I would have wished otherwise.

Ich kann nachvollziehen, wenn Sie enttäuscht sind. Niemand möchte verfaulte Kokedamas aus der Verpackung holen. Sicherlich war es nicht korrekt, dass Ihnen niemand aus dem Kundenservice auf Ihre letzte Mail geantwortet hat, hierfür entschuldige ich mich bei Ihnen.

Um den zeitlichen Ablauf Ihrer Bestellung darzustellen:
Am Samstag ging Ihre Bestellung bei uns ein, welche am Montag darauf bezahlt wurde. Am Donnerstag der gleichen Woche sind Sie in den Urlaub gefahren, sodass unsere angegebene Lieferzeit in diesen gefallen ist. Da wir Lieferzeiten von 5 bis 7 Werktagen aufrufen, haben wir mit der Lieferung am Freitag der gleichen Woche unser Lieferversprechen gehalten.
Letztlich ist festzuhalten, dass der Zustand der Kokedamas bei Versandbeginn sehr gut war, hingegen am Datum der Abholung nicht mehr. Somit war die zeitliche Abfolge für das Wohlbefinden der Pflanzen verantwortlich.

Wie bereits erwähnt verstehe ich Ihre Aufregung darüber, dass Ihre Pflanzen nicht wie erwartet bei Ihnen angekommen sind, doch liegt die Unverantwortlichkeit in diesem Falle aus meiner Sicht nicht bei uns, auch wenn ich es mir anders gewünscht hätte.

First impression of a delivery

At first sight the two palms of this shipment looked very well. However when I repotted them the Howea belmoreana appeared to be poorly rooted. When removing the abundant loose red clay, a quite small rootball less than one third of the volume of the container remained. Obviously it looked as if the palm was recently (re)potted? The good and prospectively better news is that less than a week after being repotted the Howea already spreaded a new leaf. In contrast the Ravenea rivularis was well rooted.
On the other hand, the handling and shipment of the order by 'der Palmenmann' went flawless. Despite of the fact that I asked them to change its content after already having it finished. As modifying was not possible given the circumstances, I cancelled the order on their advice and replaced it. This all went surprisingly well for which I own them my compliments given the logistic problems due to covid19!

Good website and range of plants but.....

Good website and range of plants and when you finally get them all is ok. But the customer service is crap. If for some reason they are out of stock, eventhough the website says it’s in stock, they don’t tell you.. you just sit and wait... and wait.... and if by chance you do get a reply to you question about the status of your order, it’s as though it was your fault for ordering an out of stock plant. I don’t mind waiting but just keep me updated... it doesn’t take much to send a status email out!

Thanks for your reply. It’s not just during this difficult time where i have had the issue. At the end of summer last year there was the same problem. I just believe that your feedback process needs revisiting... and it’s not a language issue as I always write in german. Thanks however for your feedback. I will continue to look on a daily basis to your homepage.

Extremely disappointing

I was so excited to have my plants for the first time in a long while, but it turned out to be extremely disappointing! Both of the plants I got have several holes in the leaves, and they didn't look like they've been well taken care of at all! Not just that I was sad to see my new plants like that, it also made me wonder if the shop really cares about their products and customers!

!!!!!

I have made an order since 20 Apr 2020, and payment via paypal is confirmed. After I received the last order confirmation email, I never received any email again. I have sent email twice, to ask how the status of my order. But there was no response, the telephone was also not responded.
I just want to know, wether is my order still in the process or are the items i ordered still available. Please do not accept any purchase if you are unable to handle it. I'm waiting further information for my order. thanks.

Everything works fine ;-)

I just received my parcel from DerPalmenmann. All plants arrived fine. I had an issue when paying the order and their customer service was great. They speak English and you can communicate with them by WhatsApp. Best German customer service I have seen so far.

Nice website - terrible service!

Don't bother.
They have a great website, and that's what they get this star for.
They love to sell, but once you've purchased you're lost. And the products you paid for get lost.
And do not expect an apology from the sellers ....

​Bad shipping, damaged plant, horrible customer service

We've order a plant for my birthday to be shipped from Germany to the UK. The plant arrived in a flimsy box with no extra layer of protection against rough handling. I've experienced this first hand, when I watched in horror as the delivery man rammed the parcel through the door and you can't blame him, because nowhere on the box was a warning sign.
The plant was DAMAGED from the shipping - no surprise there. ​One leaf is just dying now - as I've purchased a fiddle leaf fig tree, one leaf makes a big difference. And about half of the remaining leafs are now with wholes and these leafs are getting blacker by the day.
But the best is yet to come: The tree was cut at the shoot. So no new shoot in sight.
We've argued back and forth with the extremely unwilling and unfriendly "customer service" employee, who did nothing to help and solve the issue, but was just really frustrating to deal with.
So, long story short: I will never purchase anything from Der Palmenmann ever again and would suggest to everyone else to not do so either.

Unreliable

they made a mistake in sending me two lemon trees (2 weeks after I ordered) : it wasn't the variety that I had ordered.
(As it happens, the origin label had been taken off ! I have recognize the variety thanks to the color code used in Spanish nursery to identify the citrus trees)
They asked me to send back the lemon trees, at my expense, for an exchange. The shipping costs were equivalent to the cost of the trees, thus I would have paid twice the price, furthermore I saw on the website that they had no more the variety I wanted...
