Fantastic Customer Service
I rarely write reviews but I feel that my experience with Outbacker deserves one. I had to claim for a medical emergency (cancer scare) whilst abroad earlier this year. The call handler was extremely empathetic to my situation and all further communication through calls and emails were helpful and made the whole experience a lot less stressful. My claim was handled quickly and efficiently without me having to chase for updates - in fact it was the other way round. I was also pleasantly surprised to be fully refunded for all medical costs incurred whilst abroad as well as my emergency flight home (minus excess). All in all I think it took about a month from first contact to the money being back in my account. I have never had to claim on insurance before and had low expectations but this company was fantastic and I can’t recommend enough.

VERY MISLEADING
Purchased the insurance with Gold cover to be covered for riding motorcycles and everything else that I may do abroad. Purchased a 6 month policy BUT I found after having a very difficult motorcycle accident and ending up in hospital that the bike is not covered in the slightest in regards to fixing. DO NOT BUY THIS POLICY if you intend to ride motorcycles abroad. Incredibly misleading policy wording around section 5b.

We have reviewed the wording and cannot see how it is confusing or misleading in any way.
Your policy is a travel insurance policy which provides cover for medical treatment while abroad, this medical cover extends to driving a motorised vehicle while abroad so long as you are 'following local laws and regulations', which means your vehicle has to be insured either as part of a rental agreement or under a motor insurance policy. It would be the responsability of your motor insurer/rental insurance to repair any damage to your motorcycle.
We are not aware of any travel insurance policy sold in the UK that would include motor insurance within it, in particular this is due to the fact that a UK insurer wouldn't be able to issue valid car/motorcycle insurance for a vehcile in another country. I further note that the policy wording clearly states that there is no cover under section 5 for driving motorised vehciles (see page 9).
