Beware

Beware! Company was not transparent about returns policy. Other companies offer free returns on lenses, and they reclaim the international tax themselves. Occhiblu leave the customer out of pocket on the lenses, and leave the customer to reclaim tax.

**Buyer Beware**
The sunglasses I received were not the same as the product advertised on their website, and the pair also arrived damaged.
When I contacted the company, instead of addressing the issue, they denied the discrepancy and sent photos that appear to show a different item entirely from what was received - SCAM. The photos they provided showed the glasses with tags attached, which were not included in the pair I received.
They also refused to provide any identifying details (such as a serial number) that would confirm the glasses shown in their photos were the same pair that was actually shipped to me. These are Tom Ford glasses, and verification should not be difficult- they have serial numbers.
On top of that, I was charged $65 in import duties on a $200 purchase because the item was incorrectly classified during shipment. DHL confirmed the classification used resulted in a tariff that should not have applied. Disputing the charge would have taken approximately two weeks and an additional $90 processing fee, with potential storage charges up to $100, leaving me with little practical choice but to pay it.
At this point, it’s not about the money it’s about accountability. Rather than taking responsibility or attempting to resolve the issue, the company has repeatedly deflected responsibility onto DHL and dismissed the concerns entirely.
Between the misleading product photos, damaged merchandise, incorrect customs classification, and lack of accountability, this was an extremely frustrating experience.
**I would strongly recommend buyers proceed with caution before ordering from Ottica Occhiblu.**

As we explained via email, we provided DHL with the correct documentation, as we always do for our international shipments. We also shared the same documentation with you, confirming that the information submitted with the shipment was accurate.

The HS code that resulted in the 10% tariff was assigned by DHL. This is not something we selected ourselves. As discussed in our previous correspondence, we contacted DHL to understand the issue.

DHL informed you that it would have been possible to dispute the charge, although the process could take approximately two weeks. You then chose to proceed with paying the tariff.

Afterwards, you mentioned that the text on the left temple appeared slightly scratched and sent us a photo. We then provided the photos we take before shipping each item. These are taken after the frames are cleaned, checked, and prepared for shipment. In those photos, there was no visible scratch. The images clearly show the brand, model, colour, and caliber, all of which match the product you ordered.

You also asked for photos showing a serial number. Most frames, including this model, do not have a serial number unless they are part of certain limited or exclusive collections. The photos we sent include all the identifying information printed on the frame, and this corresponds exactly to your order.
The photos we take a are also for our internal system, so we can't take pictures you request after shipping you your order.

We are truly sorry that your experience was not as expected, and we expressed this several times in our previous emails. Unfortunately, the tariff issue was not caused by us, and the frames were carefully checked and documented before shipping to ensure they were in perfect condition and matched the order placed.


The tag you are referring to is not included in the package because it is an internally printed tag used only within our shop to record daily sales. It is not part of the product and is not intended to be shipped with the frames.

These tags are created by us for in-store use and display the price, model, colour, and size for our staff and customers, as not everyone is aware that this information can also be found printed on the temple of the frame, as shown in the photos you sent us.

We also informed you that we contacted DHL in order to investigate and try to resolve the customs issue. We are not deflecting responsibility; however, the HS code was selected and applied by DHL. We provided them with all the required documentation clearly indicating that the item is sunglasses, but we were never asked to provide or select an HS code ourselves.

Regarding the condition of the item, the frames were not damaged when shipped. As shown in the photos we sent, the frames were checked, photographed, and packed in pristine condition. The item sent matches the order placed, which is also confirmed by the photos and the information printed on the frame.

Updated reply:
The tag you mentioned is not part of the item being sold or shipped. It is an internally produced tag with a custom barcode and information used only for our shop’s internal system, and therefore it is not included with the product.

Have have ordered my first pair of prescription glasses

Have have ordered my first pair of prescription glasses through this company. I am extremely impressed with their website, customer services and speed of delivery. There was a query on my order due to myself entering to order numbers and Robyn was quick to correspond this and gain clarification which was the correct design. Highly recommend

Order the sunglasses paid extra for…

Order the sunglasses paid extra for quick delivery which still took 10days only to be told that i have £42 with DHL customs to pay. Never been informed at check out.
Anyone else had this problem

Also gone back onto website and ordered another pair of glasses to see if it mentions import charges and it does not. Who reads terms and conditions

We’re sorry to hear about your concerns regarding the customs fees. As mentioned in our email, we do our best to clearly communicate this information in multiple areas of our website.

It is stated in our Terms and Conditions, Frequently Asked Questions, and also when you're in your cart, above the checkout button, under the total cost, that "taxes and shipping costs are calculated at checkout. Any customs fees are required to be covered by the recipient."


Regarding the timeline, your order was placed on the 24th and shipped with DHL Express on the 28th.
The four-day delay was due to the custom lenses you selected, which required additional time for ordering, cutting, and fitting before shipment.

A great range of unusual styles. Bought a pair of JMMs and saved a lot of money from the UK price (pls be aware of customs taxes). Very helpful and highly recommended.

Sent me a pair of cheap feeling smaller…

Sent me a pair of cheap feeling smaller glasses when the discription didn't even say it was for kids.

So the store defended it being small because it was junior collection which to be fair should be mentioned in a more visible location. But what about the quality its pretty bad and didn't even get a proper case for it.
