Phish/scam/attempt to steal ID

A recruiter from Orion Group contacted me about a good job opportunity that I was qualified for. Spoke with me over the phone for 45 minutes and even gave some tips about how to improve my resume.

During that 45 minute call, he asked for my birthday (as it would be used to create a password for an account). Then toward the end of the account, he asked for pictures of a VISA-related document which would give him the ability to open bank accounts in my name, apply for government benefits in my name, and otherwise commit fraud and theft.

The email he sent had all the hallmarks of phishing: a sense of urgency, a small task to complete, asking for sensitive personal information. He even sent a benign DocuSign document to try and prove legitimacy.

The company reeks of scams and fraud. Their group has 685 members on LinkedIn, most with their privacy settings set to the most restrictive.

If a recruiter from Orion Group contacts you, ignore them and try to find the job listing elsewhere.
