We were clients of this firm for around two years. At the start, the service was excellent — particularly from Louise, who was responsive, supportive and professional. I genuinely believed we had finally found a long-term accounting partner.
We proceeded with incorporation and were referred to a specialist company they recommended and fully endorsed. Our Ootimise account manager attended every meeting with that company, and at no stage were any concerns raised about the referral or process.
I spoke to one of the partners who congratulated me and advised a member of their team would contact us how to set up. Rather than a welcome letter we were terminated . I received an unexpected email informing me that they no longer wished to work with us. There was no warning, no conversation, and no attempt to support us through the transition. After repeated requests for clarification, the only explanation given was “business restructuring.”
What I found particularly disappointing was that the partners I had previously trusted and communicated with did not contact us directly. Instead, communication was handed over to a PR representative, which felt evasive and unprofessional — especially after such close involvement up to that point.
This left us without support at a critical moment for our business, despite the fact that they promote themselves as specialists for exactly this type of client.
While the relationship began very positively, the way it ended has unfortunately damaged my confidence in the firm. The only silver lining is that we have now engaged a new accountant whose level of support, clarity and professionalism fully reflects the fees they charge — and we are far bettered served as a result. discovered today that my previous review has disappeared along no doubt with other bad reviews. optimise withdrew their services because I pointed out their error (which they said was due to computer when it was most likely human). this left me in the lurch. fortunately I found a much better (and cheaper) chartered accountant who im still with. I posted a review at that time and got nasty threats of litigation from Simon. these were empty threats but shows the sort of people they are. also at that time his wife who seems to run the show was not a qualified accountant - I recall she was a chartered procurer! they were not a firm of chartered accountants so there was limited address to the professional bodies. they may employ chartered accountants but the firm isnt and still isnt from looking at their website. beware.
REPLY TO REPLY - thanks Simon but everything I said was true and your solicitors threat was about my review and not about social media. also the issue was not about delay but about a very basic error in the co. house statement, and any apologies were hard won after blaming computer error and general defensiveness. there was no discussion about future services being withdrawn - your wife just announced that they would be after I had been paying monthly for very little as the accounts for that year had not been prepared. you havent explained why my bad review and others have disappeared.
REPLY 09/10/25 - thanks for second response. unfortunately there are some errors. you state that the letter your solicitor wasnt about my review but in fact was about social media posts. if you were to check the letter for yourself you will see the first sentence states:
'We are instructed by the aforementioned client in relation to statements posted by you on wwwpropertytribes.com and google reviews...'
So it was about my review and the second page requests removal of the review. There was a clear attempt to influence the reviews by intimidation. I dont think property tribes constitutes 'social media' - it is a specialist property forum where information and advice is shared among members.
There was no breakdown in communication from my end. Louises decision to withdraw services was a surprise. I doubt very much that anyone was crying over my emails! these were were polite and proportional.
my recollection is that the main professional bodies couldnt investigate as optimise were not a firm of chartered accountants and ACCA website misleadingly listed optimise as chartered accountants. This is what ACCA said:

As advised previously, we appreciate your thoughts and have taken your feedback on board, your comments were initially passed onto our Change Request Process Group to discuss and consider.
I can confirm that following the subsequent process group meeting, held just a few weeks after your initial comments, it was agreed that we would review our website with a view to adding clarity to our membership, in addition a request was passed to our Authorisations Team to consider the most suitable way to display this.
