Here’s another complaint to add to FM’s business practices. Anything you buy from this place you will have to pay to ship any parts back regardless of who’s at fault and when items are returned which were never used and brand new they will NOT refund you the total amount you paid. This is unacceptable and until this changes will never deal with them again. FM could be an awesome company but as of now more of the same garbage. No thanks.

Buyer Beware

Buyer beware — extremely poor support after a serious malfunction

I had a OneWheel malfunction while riding where the board unexpectedly locked up and caused me to crash and get injured. This is not a minor issue — this is a serious safety failure.

After the incident, I contacted the company immediately, provided diagnostic data and photos, and clearly explained what happened. I expected at minimum some level of accountability, concern, or willingness to investigate and support the situation. And I might add that the board only had 80 miles on it at the time of malfunction.

Instead, I was essentially dismissed with no meaningful help, no resolution, and no offer of replacement or compensation. Just a generic response and a dead end.

What’s most concerning is not just the malfunction itself, but the complete lack of support afterward when something clearly went wrong in a real-world riding situation.

Based on my experience, I personally cannot recommend this product. If something goes wrong, don’t expect much support from the company.

Buyer beware! $$$ YEARLY costs!

Two of my boys own Onewheels. XR Classic and Pint X. The Pint X has lasted for 1000+ miles with zero issues. The XR Classic didn't even make it 600 miles and nine months before the battery went out and it flashed the Error 22 code. My son rarely used the hyper charger and ALWAYS had the battery-saving-limitation on to keep it under 80 percent fully charged! We called up customer service to chat about battery quality and Management told me they have NO data to share on how long their batteries last. They also have NO extended warranty plans on their parts and told me "its typical for lithium ion batteries to go out!" (I told them I have LI batteries still working from over 15 years ago.)
$750 dollars later we learned that we might just need to fork out a grand a year to have this bigger toy around. This is not the quality we signed up for. Buyer beware! If you're not a millionaire, you may want to stick with the smaller, cheaper ones.....or go old-school and push a board yourself.

Don't buy a Onewheel GT

Don't buy a Onewheel GT!
My younger brother bought a onewheel XR. He was very excited to go onewheeling with me so I bought one. About a month or so later, I started having ghosting issues. It almost got run over by a car when it decided to take off over the street. I contacted onewheel in regards to the issue and the recall. They told me that mine was not covered and that I would need to purchase a new footpad from them at full cost. It really bums me out because I wanted the new XL. But I can't justify spending my money on a company that does not support their customers or their lives. Thanks for the paperweight.

Amazing company, if you have deep pockets, have no morals, and love risking your life in the name of "fun"

Tesla jr, everything thing that could go wrong with the board has to be sent for repairs. They are notorious for taking parts off that could "effect safety" when you send it in for repairs. Everything requires a handshake so good luck fixing anything in the board. Only way too get the best out of a board is too find a older firmware and hardware vesion. Hard to find them because people really dont want to let go of the parts. If you buy a new onewheel. Put a 600 to the side if you buy a pint x, major manafac defect and future motion will never admit it was on them and for you to pay to repair. They went from "enjoy the ride on your terms" to "this is our property, enjoy the ride on our terms". They have destroid any hope of keeping a loyal fanbase, and the ones who still stand buy and praise them are rhe people who dont care about the price tag. Must be nice, except the average american takes a good year to even save up enough for a pint. Let alone a gt.

Unbelievable They Are Keeping My 2 Pints....

My two boys sent back their pints for the trade-in program which I was unaware of and when I found out I contacted the company about their one wheels. My boys ended up not having enough money and didn't want to tell me because they were worried I'd get mad. So when I contacted one wheel about the issue this is the reply they gave me on the email

Per the terms of the Onewheel Trade-In Program, all issued coupon codes expired on May 31st, 2025, and unfortunately, we’re unable to extend those codes or issue new ones. Additionally, as stated in the program’s terms, once trade-in boards are received at our facility, we’re not able to return them.

We know that’s not the answer you might be hoping for, but we truly appreciate your family’s support and participation in the trade-in program. Keep an eye on our website for any future promotions or programs that might help make upgrading easier down the road.
All the best,
Paul

PLEASE READ, Dealer experience with Onewheel

PLEASE READ, I am a Onewheel dealer and have been for the last 5years. The boards are great quality as long as they stay charged and working, but if an issue occurs the company is awful to work with. As a dealer we had two brand new never ridden Onewheel xr, the company policy is the boxes the boards come in can not be opened by the dealer. We abided by that policy but when it came time someone bought one the batteries had gone dead due to it not being charged. You would think this was out of our control due to us(the dealer) not being able to touch the board. I contacted the company directly and they said it was our problem and it was a minimum of $500 per board to fix it and if it was fixed there would be no warranty for the boards. We went back and forth about it with the company but still was our problem. I eventually decided to get them fixed. I sent in both boards in there original boxes with all packaging. They were then sent back fixed but in random old pint boxes, so at this point I am fed up I don’t have boxes to sell them in and both don’t have a warranty. I figured getting them fixed would give me a better chance at selling them but I guess it’s a loss. So please learn from my mistake and don’t buy from this company they are not fair to there dealers or consumers

This company does not care about…

This company does not care about customers in anyway shape or form.

Misleading website!!! I searched for XR Classic Charger on their website, I purchased the charger that was the result of my purchase. Charger showed up… wrong charger it was for the XR+. Reach out to exchange and I’m told because their website was wrong I am responsible for shipping charges back and forth for the correct charger. Ridiculous!

The charger I have is only 5 months old from brand new and broken.

Horrible customer service.

This company is a complete joke, this is my third experience with Customer NO service and each time has been awful.

9 month old defective battery module not covered under 1 year warranty

I wanted to love the onewheel GT. So much that I convinced others to buy onewheels. However, a defective battery module junked out before 9 months and 350 miles. On top of it, they won't cover it under warranty! What?! Its a one year warranty. Really, a $600 battery should last a few years or longer, not less than 9 months. It is sad, I thought this company would be alright. I have convinced people to buy onewheels in the past because I thought they were decent. I definitely was wrong and argue against buying anything from Futuremotion until they can take better care of customers. Just get something else... From somewhere else...

Phew😌

Phew😌 First! This is going to be a review as well as a warning. Before even attempting to get this as a replacement, REGISTER YOUR OLD BOARD FIRST WHILE IT WORKS! keep your old controller box for serial numbers. DO NOT TOSS IT!
Even if you brought it used, all electronic parts have to be stock to register while it works. There's some things you have to do with your old controller with serial numbers before the installation.

Now to the review: This is a very easy replacement for your controller! Before getting started, I recommend taking a picture of the controller box serial numbers and then following Onewheel's YouTube page with Austin showing how to do it. Very easy instructions and so simple. Also had to follow some instructions for the battery as I have new one of them as well. Same YouTube page. Thanks again Future Motion! I can now ride my GT again! Here's to another 10,000 more miles. 😊🤙🏾🤙🏾

What a poor customer service!!

What a poor customer service!!
I purchased a PintX a while ago which started to show operation errors a few months ago. I sent the diagnostic, reached out to the customer service which diagnosed that the issue was coming from the controller module. In Jan 2025, I bought a new controller module for a total of $329. 3 months later, the board stopped working, showing an error 16. Customer service diagnostic: "The controller module is malfunctioning".
They want me to buy a new controller and a new battery for more than $850 even though I already spent more than $300 on a part that stopped working within 3 months.
They won't refund my last purchase. I proposed to pay $200 ($500 - $300) for a new battery which they refused.
Beware of these fraudulent practices. Their products are not reliable and they just want your money!!
What a shame!! The concept is great but the execution is very poor.

Onewheel GT,

Onewheel GT,
Do not buy one of these unless you live in the US.
I'm in Western Australia and my GT, less that 2 years old, proceeded to go full speed in reverse with no one on it, went for around 100m and then crashed into a tree. So now it wont turn on and there is clearly a problem with the sensor pad (now aware of the recall but was not informed about this being in Australia).
In Australia, no support, no repair option, no service - just, buy another battery from our website and buy another sensor pad from our website and it might work. They're claiming no responsibility, they offer no discount code to buy new parts, they will not pay for postage to their service centre, but Paul (future motion) keeps on replying claiming good service. No loyalty to good customers as I've bought 3 of these as i clearly like them.
Very disappointing as I've outlaid thousands of $$'s for these expensive units and DEAD inside 2 years.
Even tried emailing the owner with no response.

Terrible Company

Made an account just to say this is the worst business I have had to deal with. There customer service is next to none and they have horrible business practices to ensure they take the most money from you as possible and if anything goes wrong they try to dodge the blame. Avoid if possible.

Poor service…

I bought a Pint X from a local official dealer, I can register my board.... I ask to to the customer service to do it: "they can't do it"...
The registration process is complicated, impossible and password request is more complicated than my bank...
Very disappointed from the support...

Don't Buy Pint S

Not as advertised. I bought the Pint S and it is advertised to go 20 mph but the pushback is 17 mph and the haptic buzz is 18mph. Don't make the same mistake I did, It only goes 18 mph.

Another thing is that all of the reviews on the Onewheel website are fake.

customer service

Dear One Wheel,
I address you because this review is for you and you only. I don't care if people buy from you because I'm sure they will. However, I will never again because you are so disappointing with your "warranty" and "policies".
You ruined my son's Christmas. Five minutes after he opened his "big" Christmas gift, it failed to work and received error code 23. We had to wait two days after Christmas to reach your "customer service" to be told that we had to send the unit off for repairs that would take up to 2 1/2 weeks out of the box, with no exceptions. That is ridiculous. Fine, you have a faulty product; send us a new one and fix your "crappy" one on your own time. From my experience, the only companies that operate this way are either cheap or greedy. In your case, after watching multiple videos on YouTube, I'm going with greed. This is no way to operate; even Best Buy does better, and that is sad. I do not know how in the H-E-DOUBLE-HOCKEY STICKS you can manage this way and stay in business. Absolutely disappointing.

Signed one sad Mother on Christmas morning.

Expensive to fix, can't do it yourself.

My board bricked and after spending hundreds of dollars replacing the modules, come to find out the software will not allow the board to work unless it is fixed by the company themselves. I would have to ship it to California and they would charge me who knows how much to fix it. So I am stuck with a broken board that has completely functional hardware... Next time I'll go with a board where there is right to repair. Disappointing.

Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service. My onewheel stopped working after an update forced by future motion. After I contacted them with the fault code, they said it was acoincidence (!!!) and not their fault and I have to send the board over to USA at my own expense and pay for the repair as its out of warranty. To me they are heartless scammers who want to force getting a new board purchase.
