Bunch of thieves

Bunch of thieves ! I see now they have low score here, wish I had checked this before renting through Rentalcars (other thieves), which showed 8/10 for OK Mobility.

Personnel at Bergamo Airport desk refused to honor the reservation through Rentalcars, because my full name didn't match exactly the name in the reservation voucher. I had omitted a name that I normally don't use. Didn't have such problems before, only with OK Mobility.

I had to still rent with them, because there was a crisis at that moment with all rental companies at the airport (I guess due to the Olympics) and all the companies were asking for triple prices... So they gave me a price which was much higher than the one in the original reservation, forced me to take full insurance and forced international supplement, which I didn't need. They just said: "This is the price of the car".

NEVER USE OK MOBILITY! or Booking.com

NEVER, NEVER USE THIS COWBOY SCAMMING COMPANY!!!!
Arrived at PISA to collect a car. Was refused as did not have the notorious IDP, even though legally UK drivers don't need one. There were other parties in the same boat and we had all booked through Booking.com.
I saw another group book a car without having the IDP, as they were booking direct and obviously OKMobility can charge more money with a direct booking. Booking.com charged me £200 to cancel the booking even though it never started and i was refused the car. It's a scam beware, and it's happening every day to hundreds of good willed travellers who just want a decent hire car for a few days, Both companies should be ashamed of the way they operate.

I recently rented a car in Pisa from OK…

I recently rented a car in Pisa from OK Mobility. The rental price was competitive but I never heard of this company before. The price for 8 days was 264€ and I took out a full cover insurance for 65€. At the desk they charged me additional 304€ (!!) of extra insurance only becouse I was getting on a ferry to Elba Island. The island is only 1hr from main land, it is Italian territory and the ferry is run by the major italian company. At the desk and at the carpark they told me that the car had a full tank. After 10 minutes driving I dicovered there was only 50 km left of petrol so i had to get the nearest station to get it filled. I returned the car with more than 200km in the tank. I explained the issue at the desk and showed them photos of the dashboard but they dimissed the issue. Later they charged me the full tank on the credit card. In short: the company tries to attract costumers with cheap rates only to charge extra in any way possibile. Please avoid this company.

Bergamo rental. Very easy

Rented a car from bergamo for 10 days. Had bought the full cover insurance when booking. Christina was girlnwho served us and was very polite and friendly. Offered us an upgrade for €45 as saw we had 3 kids so suggested a wider car to give kids more space. My husbands credit card wouldnt go through (for the 150 euro deposit) as it was a newly issued card and he hadn't activated it before leaving for Italy. She let us use my debit card. When she put the hold on my card it didn't register on their system so instead of charging the card again, she asked to take a picture of the transaction from my phone banking to avoid them holding twice the deposit. Deposit already released by them and we only dropped the car back this morning. They open at 8 am according to their website but we arrived early at return centre (7.20am) and there was an attended there who processed the return. Based on our experience we would definitely use them again

I would NOT recommend…

I rented a car (Peugeot 308 - CMMS or similar) directly through the OK Mobility website (okmobility.com / en) for 12 days and I also paid for the full ‘Super Premium’ insurance cover whereas the ‘Out of hours’ would be included on top of windows, tyres, etc… etc…

The car pickup time was for Tuesday 17/12/2024 at 23:00 at the Milan Malpensa airport Terminal 1 (main terminal). We arrived at the shop at 23:15 and the shop was already fully closed since 22:00.

I phoned the Call Centre indicated in the paperwork (Italian phone number +39 0653262388) but I was provided with the option to speak only Spanish or English… I am lucky enough to be able to speak English and so I continued, but before being able to talk to an operator I had to call 4 times and go through the long series of submenus to choose from every time… …once I managed to talk to the operator, he basically said he could do nothing for us and there was nothing to do because the shop was closed since 22:00 and we had to wait until 07:00 the following morning for the opening hour. Just to be crystal clear, I asked the same question 3-4 times, asking whether there was anything else we could/should do to sort it out and/or I had to do anything to make sure that the early morning I would get the car, his answer was always the same, there was nothing they could do but only to wait for the morning opening hour. I still asked why no one waited for us because I had the full premium insurance with ‘Out of hours’ and the operator said that it would only cover from the 22:00 official closing time and 23:00, the last reservation time. That made no sense at all because my reservation was for 23:00 independently of their closing time.

We (my wife, my daughter and I) set ourselves on the chairs in front of the ‘OK Mobility’ shop for a sleepless night at the Milan Malpensa airport Terminal 1.

At 07:00 o’clock, when the roller shutter lifted, we were not even greeted with a simple and courteous ‘Good Morning… what we can do for you…’ but it felt like we were at the wrong place at the wrong time; that was certainly not a good start. I started to explain the situation to the salesperson and the first thing he said was that our reservation had now expired because it was more than 6 hours away from the actual pickup time… …I then further explained that I phoned their Call Centre and the operator never mentioned any type of expiration time and/or any sort of action to be taken.

The sales person insisted for me to call again the Call Centre to re-enable the reservation but I had to explain a few times that the operator would not be able to do anything for us, so (somehow) the salesperson managed to reinstate our reservation... for an additional fee of 50 Euros. I reluctantly paid the extra fee just to get things sorted. Once we got that paper work going, the sales person told us that the car I booked for was not available anymore, so I started questioning how it could be possible, seeing as I was there the night before to collect the car, but the shop was closed and no one else came between 23:15 and 07:00? Anyway, after this last incongruence he just gave us the keys for another car.

Questions:
- Why would you give the option to book a time slot if you know that the shop is already closed by an hour? Even if we would have arrived at 23:00 we would have not had the car because they had already closed at 22:00!
- On the reservation, there was my mobile number, why did no one ever attempt to call me to find out where we were?
- Why could the Call Centre not do anything but the sales person insisted a few times that the operator should have been the one to sort things out?
- Was the sales person at the shop not willing to sort things out?
- What if somebody does not speak any Spanish nor English?

I would NOT recommend for anyone, for any reason, to go through what we went through!

Absolute Scam - got completely ripped off.

They found a new way to make money, they refuse to lock money on a debit card (other car companys are able to do that) so they demand a credit card, (most people have a debit card) and if you don't have it, they need to sell you a $440 Insurance or you are not able to get your car. Absolutely outrageous scamming company

A very very bad and scamming company

A very very bad and scamming company. Avoid at any costs!!
They're upselling insurrances at extremely high costs (€330) even though you already have one they keep pushing for this. Creditcard will be rejected and you will be forced to accept the inssurrance. After 2 days because of a flat tire they took our car away (instead of replacing the tire with a new one?) We haven't received any replacement car afterwards. We've been calling for days during our holiday with no reponse at all.
Also when hiring a childseat, it's your own responsibility and nothing will be set up when you're picking up your car. So don't expect any service at all.
They offered to pay for a taxi (€225) back to the airport, but we haven't seen any compensation. We filed for a claim afterwards because there isn't any way possible during the time of the rental agreement, but with a simple "rejection" notice they're not willing to compensate in any way after taking our car away.
If you want to enjoy your holiday relax and peacefully, please avoid this horrible company! ❌

Toxic, exploitative firm abusing trust of customers

Absolute Scam - got completely ripped off. AVOID HIS FIRM.

I paid for a car via Car Trawler, and a few days before I arrived I got a 'reminder' that I had to take a credit card in my name to collect the car. I duly did so, assuming that taking the card I'd used to already pay the hire charge with would be sufficient. It was not.

My Credit Card says 'Mr C W' Not ' Mr Christopher W****'. This gave them the excuse to refuse the booking, saying that I had failed to meet the terms and conditions established by Car Trawler.

I asked them who they thought the card belonged to given that it bore my name, was accompanied by my debit card, Passport and driving license, and the reply was that it could belong to someone called Carlos Rawson, from Columbia for example.

I wondered why, if my card was good enough for my bank in that name, it wasn't good enough for a car hire firm, given that I was willing to pay for the car another way. I also wondered why, if I was going to defraud my bank I'd apply for a credit card using my own surname an initials.

They then proceeded to rent me he same car, using the same documents for the same price, again.

It's an overt fraud, an absolute scam. Car Trawler were worse than useless and were clearly used to dealing with this complaint and fobbed me off saying it was my fault.

It's immoral and probably corrupt, and an example of why Italy has one of the worst reputations in Europe for ripping off tourists - whether it's charging diners by the gram in restaurants, or exploiting families with no other choice.

They should feel ashamed. I was stood at the desk with my autistic 12 year old, my visually impaired girlfriend and had no other choice and they knew it. Italy's economy is on the constant decline and it's no wonder. I won't be going back I don't think. I spent the rest of the week worrying that I would fall into another 'small print' trap and it really put a dampner on the whole week.

Would give zero stars if possible. Still haven't received security deposit back after more than 30 days and had no response back from them having completed their form to query this. Appalling and shameful way to run a company. This was the Pisa airport branch.

Scam

Scam. I arrived over 3 hours late for the booking. They said terms and conditions mean they cant keep the car but as i had up to 6 hours before it became a no show they could give me an upgrade.
No choice of size (it was enormous - too big for narrow italian roads) No choice of money -- charged me an extra €140. When i later looked at the terms it only mentions 6 hours and nothing about his 2 hours

Beware - Attenzione

Beware - Protect yourself !
Watch for ANY scratch (no matter how small) and report it at the pickup. I was charged a whopping EUR 110 for two small scratches - less than 1 cm.- on the rim of the plastic wheelcover. They were so small I did not notice at pickup. See attached picture.

ATTENZIONE !

Terrible

Terrible. Never gave me any paperwork. On hiring they said don't worry, your receipt and note of your refundable deposit would be sent to you by email. IT NEVER WAS. On arrival they said, don't worry, your deposit and receipt will be sent to you. IT NEVER WAS!! No way to phone them. They took all the money on a credit card but sent me no communication or refund of deposit.

This company is a SHAME!

This company is a SHAME!! I rented a car with OK Mobility to pick up from Milan Airport. I made an appointment on the Booking App and when making the appointment they asked to indicate the arrival time. Which nowhere seems to be binding and which, as we do with hotels, has the perspective of helping hotels to manage arrivals and check-in. It turns out that with Ok Mobility this indicative time is binding and if we arrive 59 minutes (!!!) later they say we didn't show up and rent our car to someone else. Car we already paid for!! How is it possible to guarantee even with an approximate arrival time that a plane is not 59 minutes late?! In my case, in addition to all the delay inside the airport, we were stuck on the runway for 1 hour with more than 40 degrees inside the plane. How can we guarantee with 59 minutes that we won't be late?!? As SHAME has no limits if we ask OK Mobility for help to get another car, in addition to saying that they can't do anything because the car was rented through Booking, the "new" price of our car is quadrupled. In other words, in my case, my rent of €500 went up to more than €2,200 and I lost the initial €500. This is a SHAME!! When I told the OK Mobility service man that it was a SHAME, he said he was going to call the police and to me leave the store. And he kicked me out of the store. Certainly with a heavy conscience of seeing myself desolate and not knowing what to say to my 3 children and wife. Just like that. Absolutely unbelievable. So a person finds himself in Milan with a hotel rented through Booking 100km away with a wife and 3 children and no car. Is it normal if a person is 59 minutes late due to plane delays and should they be left without the car they already paid for?!? This is the question. Is this fair?! Or a SHAME?

Several issues with this company

Several issues with this company.

1. I rented through DoItItaly and prepaid for a hybrid car with automatic transmission. It was approximately $25 more than non-hybrid, but I figured I would save money since I was planning to do a lot of driving. At the counter in Milan, Malpensa I was told that they did not have hybrids and, in fact, never had them. I had to get a regular gasoline car that probably cost me extra $50 in gas.
2. A rear quarter window was damaged, either by a stone or by attempted break in. I attempted to file a police report, but in Italy police does not do reports on national holidays((!).

Upon return, I see a charge on my credit card for $318. No bill, no explanation, no statement was sent. Contacted by email, no response. After contacting HQ through Facebook, I was sent one page of the statement showing 200 euros charge for the window. After multiple additional contacts they finally sent the second page showing administrative charges and charges for “refueling”.
3. I got the car with full tank of gas and returned it with full tank of gas. I have a picture that shows full tank on return. They say I returned with 7/8 of a tank which resulted in extra 30 euros charge. This is why they did not send the whole statement to me.

4. My credit card (Capital One MasterCard) covers rentals in Italy (one of very few, even Amex Platinum doesn’t). They are trying to get the documents from OK, but also having a hard time.

I would like to get a refund from OK for extra charges and make sure they provide necessary documents to Master Card so I can be reimbursed for the damage.

Avoid at all costs

I'd give 0 stars if it was an option. Avoid at all costs. Found "damage" after return and excessively charged for a small scratch on plastic trim below knee height, vehicle was covered in damage that i highlighted before driving. Then billed for an upgrade I didn't want after the "damage" was found and the list goes on.
