Yet another brilliant trip

Great ski days, a variety of trips to different locations gave a chance to see different scenery and ski amazing snow. A mix of trips; fun tree ski ing, an island mountain traverse day , a more remote mountain...lots of varied and mainly un tracked terrain.

A comfortable place to stay in a stunning location.
Really tasty and plentiful food. Good company.

Oh dear this has fed my addiction to ski ing in artic Norway! Thanks to all OPP team for their hard work in making this an amazing holiday.

The Narvik ski trip with Off Piste Performance in 2025 was great. We did ski tours with good snow and big mountain scenery. We skied fresh snow in trees during a day of bad weather. Accommodation at the Wivel Hotel was excellent. The pace and skills of our group were well matched. The guiding and ski instruction were top notch.

Fantastic venue, guiding and overall experience. The Off Piste Performance team really know how to blend teaching and guiding to bring the best out of their clients and to find the best snow (sometimes in challenging conditions)- to ensure that everyone has their best day skiing ever.

The best week yet!

I've skied in Norway with Off Piste Performance for a total of 8 weeks. This week was the best so far: fabulous accommodation in a fjordside setting, a great team of Alison and Neil providing varied days in the mountains, and exceptional cooking from Louella. Oh, and the snow was AMAZING!

Off Piste Performance work hard (importantly, without actually appearing to do so!) to give all their guests a fantastic experience. Tours are tailored to both the conditions and aspirations of the group: we had a great mix of longer mountaineering days along with shorter ski-focused days to make the most of the superb snow. The food is tasty, healthy and plentiful - exactly what you need to both keep energy levels up, and enjoy sociable evenings around the dining table. All you have to worry about is supplying alcohol to go with it!

Three weeks in to a four week trip with OPP in arctic Norway. That’ll be 11 weeks in total in recent years. I think I may be a fan of their great trips and courses. Perfect organisation, the best pro mountain guides, excellent accom, and jolly nice folk.

A very memorable and stunning week of ski touring on and around the island of Arnøya, Norway. Flawless logistics and great accommodation made it a memorable experience. The guiding was very competent, professional and light hearted, taking us to some truly great snow for the best turns of the season. I'd highly recommend Off Piste Performance.

Rob, Dee, and Miles were fantastic. The course was organised so that we alternated between introductory ski touring with Rob/Miles and off-piste technique sessions with Dee. This was a great way of combining learning which facilitated loads of improvements! I can't recommend this course highly enough for anyone keen to explore the off-piste and become more familiar with ski touring and the framework on how to approach avalanche risk.

Fantastically organised course with good pre course info. The guides and instructors were wonderful. Learnt so much and explored places I would have never have had the confidence to get to alone. You do need to be fit and ski well (I was probably the least confident you could get away with) to get the best out of the course but so worth it to see the level of improvement we got

I felt the tuition was instructive and also fun and enjoyable with a good team spirit. Lots of new tips and skills to work on and improve in the future.
The only downside of the trip was the accommodation on the plus side it was the cheapest I have ever had on a ski trip and I think great for young persons 20 to 40 .
However for anyone older not suitable at all!!!! beds awful uncomfortable , cold rooms, rooms small , showers dirty, no sauna for 3 years although they still advertise this poor facilities eg kitchen crowded and noisy at night. People steal your food from the fridge Drunk students or travellers coming in at all time of the night and shouting because they have been locked out of the front door or their rooms. Plus its a 20 min walk in ski boots and carrying skis to the bus stop then a 30 minute bus journey all quite exhausting and awful to be honest. Argentere would be a 100 times better and I moved there for the final weekend after the course as I could not stand the lodge any longer so bad.. However if young people want cheap accommodation and don't mind roughing it somewhat and the travelling and long walk etc it prob fine.:) I did meet lots of interesting young people there as well from all over the world. t

I could not recommend Alison's and Rob's Chamonix Off-Piste & Touring Skills course more highly. Well paced, excellent tuition and brilliant surroundings. Read Alison's superb new book, "Off Piste Performance" too!

Good balance of helpful and focused tuition followed by free time to apply the learned skills. Four excellent morning sessions sorted eight years of self-taught bad skiing habits.

The off piste performance for mountaineers I thought was well constructed giving 4 half days allowing the rest of the time for personal consolidation. Shona was great in starting with the fundamentals and layering the skills up as the week progressed. Communication before, during and after the course was great.

Derek is a fantastic instructor and delivered a wonderful course with expert tuition throughout, no matter the weather.

It was a wonderful holiday. What made it extremely special is the attention the guide gives to each person to ensure it is the best experience. After a great day on the hill, there is amazing food from Emma. But be warned, no matter how much exercise you do, you will put weight on because the food is that good.

fantastic in all respects- great skiing, guiding and tuition, great accomodation, and great food! And great company! What's not to like? These trips are so well planned and designed to suit everyone from the more adventurous to the more 'mellow' skiers.

Fantastic holiday with OPP in Kafjord. Everything about the trip was great. The accommodation was in an amazing, calm position with beautiful views over the fjord, and possible to get into the sea directly from the beach! The ski touring was varied and generally only a short drive from the lodge, and George our guide made sure that every tour was fun, safe and adapted to our level of skiing. George is also an encyclopaedia of knowledge regarding wildlife and fauna……….and always willing to share this with his clients. It was also a real bonus to ski with Alison, and learn how it should be done.
The Trip was very well organised with ample and unlimited information from start to finish. I can’t recommend OPP highly enough.

Great week in Chamonix on the SPFM level 1. Dee was a fantastic instructor, really clear, great tips, very encouraging. Loved the mix of on and off piste work and 4 mornings with a break half way and afternoons to practice is a really good combo. Just wished I had done this about 25 years ago when I would probably have been better able to put it all into practice.

From the first email interaction to the final video analysis, Alison couldn’t have been better. The group was put together matching our abilities, concerns and expectations with an accuracy that truly reflects her expertise. Every day had an individual focus, tailored to our progress. After many years of skiing, Alison quickly highlighted one simple technique which has revolutionised my skiing and reignited my love for the sport. I can not recommend the company highly enough. Fun, educational and inspiring.

An outstanding course that has given me confidence and ideas that I shall be using all winter.
Alison is a brilliant teacher and a fantastic role model too. We all want to ski like Alison, but she gives us skills and confidence to help get you just that bit closer.
Above all, it was great fun with a super group of people.
