Poor poor customer experience

I bought this Book Nook kit as a present for my 10-year-old daughter. When it arrived she was excited to start building it and, to be fair, the kit itself looked great. The only minor issue initially was that it arrived a little late.

However, the problems started once she began assembling it.

The first issue was with some of the parts that slot together. The laminate coating on a couple of pieces peeled back slightly, which meant they wouldn’t fit properly into the slots. That made certain sections unnecessarily difficult to build.

The bigger issue was that two parts were missing entirely.

I emailed the company the same day (or the day after) with the exact part numbers that were missing. Instead of simply sending replacements, they asked me to photograph the packing label and the parts.

The packing label had already been thrown away, which is pretty normal once something is unpacked. They then asked for photos of the missing parts. That’s obviously impossible… because they’re missing.

Next they asked for photos of the manual pages showing the missing parts. At this point it felt completely unnecessary. They have the order number, they know exactly which kit I bought, and they obviously have the manual themselves.

What should have been a simple customer service fix turned into an hour of back-and-forth emails.

All it would have taken was:
"Sorry about that — we'll get the replacement parts sent out to you straight away."

Instead, the process was unnecessarily difficult and frustrating.

The product idea is nice, but the customer service is extremely poor. I would not recommend buying from this company.

Be very careful if purchasing from this…

Be very careful if purchasing from this company. Bought the Gorgeous Manor as a Christmas gift. Some of the parts are defective. The ‘pegs’ DO NOT fit into the holes at all! No matter how hard anyone tries. Informed the company but they insist that it’s exactly as it should be and things ‘don’t go together fully until you’ve completed it all’. Unable to complete it because the pieces DON’T FIT! Have offered to send it back recorded delivery for them to see for themselves but they’ve dismissed it saying there’s nothing wrong with it and have refused to replace or refund, despite their policy clearly stating they would in the case of defects! A waste of almost £50 and a disappointed family member whose Christmas present is useless. Will never buy from this fraud of a company again!

Do NOT waste the money!

I purchased the library for a Christmas gift. Initally the product seemed sturdy so we were excited. It was disappointing that ALL coverings of books had to be glued, since RoLife uses stickers. Then came the realization that details of walls also had to be glued to create the facings. That said the furniture, while notched to fit did not stay in place. They simply slid apart, unable to stand. Thus we glued them out of desperation to have it complete. Please note only 1 tiny tube was provided, so we bought more! Then, the final wall and ceiling did not fit properly. The back piece might be warped. Glue can not fix this cause of the pressure needed to hold it would take a couple of vices! I have emailed and sent photos. No reply so I am sumbitting reviews to save others this disappointment.

Absolute Scam!

We ordered 2 Nooks from this company and both we’re not only delivered extremely late, but also arrived missing key elements to complete the Nook as described on the website. After getting in touch with the company to try and resolve the matter, we’ve been told the best they can do is a 15% partial refund. Absolute scam.

I bought the Moles Apartment Booknook…

I bought the Moles Apartment Booknook kit for my 11 year old granddaughter for Christmas and she thoroughly enjoyed making it. She is so anamoured with it and couldn't wait to show me when she'd finished. The quality is excellent, above expectations and I'll be buying her another for her birthday. The website is easy to use although the filters could be better. The parcel came well wrapped and arrived quickly.

Very Helpful Customer Service

I ordered a Christmas Present for my sister (which came SUPER quickly by the way) not realising that she already owned what I had purchased for her.

I asked Official Book Nook if I could exchange my order for a different item and they were fine with this - admittedly there was as bit of confusion as I asked if I could return in person as I was local to the return address; it was confirmed as okay then eventually confirmed as not okay.. but mistakes happen!

After the misunderstanding I sent off my return and OBN were kind enough to waive the difference in price of the replacement item which was incredibly kind of them (massively appreciated as you understandably have to pay for the return - but delivery was free!)

The customer service was always quick, kind and accommodating and I would highly recommend.
