Fleur was excellent and very easy to talk to and explained everything clearly and professionally. She was able to answer all questions needed and flexible to allow for changes if so needed at later stage. Explained the various tax, inheritance and power of attorney issues very well. After making my initial contactwith Octopus about my Will the service I have received has been fantastic. They kept me informed of everything that is going on and the video meeting I had with the solicitor was easy to do. I will be recommending Octopus to all my friends to get their Will done too

I paid Octopus Legacy £120 for a Lasting Power of Attorney service on 5 March 2025.

After receiving nothing except my payment receipt, I chased them in July 2025. They requested a missing middle name, which I supplied on 23 July. On 29 July 2025, they confirmed that the amendment had been sent to their legal team and promised that my documents would be reviewed and delivered within 10 working days.

Nothing arrived. I received no update, explanation or further contact.

I chased them again on 25 July 2026, almost a full year after their promised deadline and nearly 17 months after paying. They have now admitted that the service I received was “completely unacceptable”, but their initial response was simply to ask me to trust them again and allow them to finally complete the work.

At the time of writing, I still have no LPA documents, no refund and no explanation of how a paid service could be completely forgotten for an entire year.

An appalling experience, particularly from a company dealing with legal documents of this importance and carrying the Octopus name.
