I've worked with Ismail a lot over the last year or so. He is a brilliant BDM and always a pleasure to deal with. He is extremely responsive and consistently gets terms back to me quickly, but what I value most is that he asks the right questions upfront and gives clear, straightforward feedback on cases. If a deal isn’t going to work, he’ll tell me rather than wasting time, which is just as important as getting a yes. Knowledgeable, reliable and genuinely a really nice guy to work with. Highly recommend.

I have recently submitted my first Bridging application with Octopus. The portal is very easy to use and the BDM Ismail Chaudhry very helpful and quick to respond in the quoting stage. Terrible service. I paid the solicitors of octopus in full as requested at the beginning of the transaction, they then started moving the goal posts constantly for 3 months to the point where we gave the documents they requested and they asked for more and more, absolutely ridiculous, and my own solicitors advised me to approach with caution they were so bad to deal with. In the end they wanted us to pay for and supply a gas cert and EICR on a property we didn’t even own which finally pushed us over the edge.
They kept the solicitors money I paid totalling £1920, also they charged us over the usual price for a surveyor of £840! I’ve lost nearly £3000. No better than muggers on the street. Approach with caution.
