In May 2022, I participated in a Mental Health First Aid course led by Dan at Oakleaf. The training was exceptional, with Dan handling a variety of difficult topics with sensitivity and a teaching approach that kept the entire group attentive and invested over the two-day session. We absorbed a substantial amount of knowledge, and I finished the course feeling assured in my capacity to assist coworkers and others. I also gained a deeper insight into the various ways mental health issues can impact people. I highly recommend this course to anyone.
I found the course very interesting and insightful. It covered important do's and dont's I didnt even know in a clear way! The instructor was also highly engaging and interacted well with all of us which made the learning experience more enjoyable!

A very well run course with a lot of very useful information given in a variety of interesting and varied ways, from group discussions, smaller group workshops, slides, videos, writing/drawing exercises, etc. The course leader was excellent, a good amount of energy without being over the top. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent two day training course, it was well structured, and delivered in a way that kept the content interesting and engaging. Dan the trainer fostered an atmosphere in which people felt safe to share experiences, which created a valuable learning experience. I have already used the skills I learned on the course both at work and in my personal life, it has made me reflect on how I can support the mental health of those around me, and I have been confident to engage in more intentional conversations about mental health.

I recently went on a 2-day training course to become a Mental Health First Aider and must say, it was one of the most informative, rewarding things I have experienced for a number of years. The training was provided through Oakleaf Enterprise. Our trainer Dan was so welcoming, calm and informative that he made both days fly by and I have learnt so much about this subject and hope that the skills I now have as a MHFA will assist someone who needs help in the future.

Had a great two days on the Mental Health First Aider Course, Dan was brilliant at delivering this course and it was a good balance of theory and group work/general discussion.
I feel I am more in tune with my own mental health and focussing on self care and much better equipped to discuss mental health in the work place. Thank you!

I was a part of the MHFA training ran by Dan and found it to be an incredibly informative and beneficial experience. We touched on a number of mental health conditions and did a lot of roleplay training us on approaching and speaking to those in need of aid. I can recommend this course to anyone looking to understand mental health more and provide more assistance to their friends and colleagues who may be struggling.

Jen from Oakleaf welcomed us all and then Dan Ford took us through the two days at a good pace to cover a lot of subjects. Participation and role play was encouraged but not forced.
At the end of the course I felt I had learnt a lot and am now comfortable being a Mental Health First Aider. It has also raised my awareness and interest in the subject and given me a thirst to learn more.

A gardening team from Oakleaf have visited every fortnight for the past six years. They are so cheerful, so willing and so effective. I'm just so grateful to Tony, Jackie and crew for keeping my garden looking beautiful (as well as a whole range of other jobs - pressure-washing, wall-building, gutter-cleaning...) Meanwhile I get immense satisfaction knowing their work is not just about my well-being but also theirs ie it's 'win-win'!
