O2 worked great in Leipzig, but it barely works at all in Frankfurt or Ramstein. Google Navigation constantly locking up.
Vodafone is supposed to be better.

One of the worst network in Germany. Customer service at gieselsstrasse Munich is worst.

Everything is crap and very, very bad. The partners, the services, even all their crappy, bad platforms. O2 is truly a disaster.

In March, I received a call from an O₂ representative offering what sounded like a simple contract upgrade: more data, same number, and a new 2-year term. I agreed, thinking this was a continuation of my existing line.
A few weeks later, I received a second SIM card. Then I noticed I’m now being charged for two contracts, even though I only use one and I never intended to open a second line.
There was no written confirmation or consent from my side. When I contacted customer service, I was told I couldn’t cancel the second line and should just “give it to a family member.”
This is not acceptable. I’ve contacted O₂ and the German consumer protection agency (Verbraucherzentrale) but have received no response so far.
I’m sharing this here in the hope that O₂ will take this seriously and review their telesales practices. This kind of customer experience damages trust.

Very Disappointed – Misled by O2 Customer Service and Charged Twice for Months
I’ve been using the O2 Partners promotion for two years. When I recently tried to cancel, I was offered a cheaper deal to stay with O2, which I accepted. That same month, I was billed twice—€89 and €81. I called customer service and was told this was a cancellation fee for the old contract.
Fast forward to this month, I was billed twice again. When I called customer service a second time, a different agent informed me that I apparently have two contracts running concurrently—the old and the new one—and that it was my responsibility to cancel the old one. This was never mentioned by the previous customer care representative when I switched.
Now I’ve been told I’ll be billed twice again next month “for the last time.” This means I will have spent nearly €350 in just three months—just for phone SIM cards. I feel completely misled and frustrated. This is not how a loyal customer should be treated.

Horrible home internet connection! If you work from home don’t buy this!!! I lose connection 5-10 times in 7 hours working period. I get kicked off from every other meeting. Even when not in a meeting I loose focus on what I am working every hour for at least 10-15 minutes disconnection time. My 2 year contact just ended last month so guess what I will do! Get rid of them! I had to rely so often on my mobile internet and I can’t live like that anymore.
Honestly there where periods of 3-4 months where I had no problems but for the majority of the time it was shit.
And even I work often during the night when traffic should not be a problem but…

I could put -100 Stars if it were possible. I was charged for a service I did not use. I had my phone data off while in my country and only used WIFi- I have proof of my data usage for the said dates. These unscrupulous company just charged me 27Euros extra for this and refuse to receive my evidence. Looking for a way to make quick money! DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE. WORST TELECOMM IN THE WHOLE EU!

I have been customer of O2 since 3 years. 3 sim cards, 1 Home internet and 2 mobile phone hardware purchase. I püd thousands of euros to O2. Then recently suddenly O2 started to change the conditions and charged the costs it was not existing in my agreement. I had to cancel Home internet. The worst thing today O2 withdraws 399 Euro which was agreed to be montly 21 Euro installment. Somehow O2 wanted to punish me, without informing me and without any invoice withdrew all my balance. O2 is really hating customers from whom they cannot gain anymore as they used to do.
I never recommend to anybody who plans to come to O2. Be carefull you will be always facing bad experiences in the background. Employees got bonuses to deceive customers:(

Latest horrendous experience:
- Tried to login. System says it will send me an SMS with a code for identification. SMS doesn't come.
Try a second time: SMS comes, but when I put in the code, it says that it is not valid. And no, I did NOT type in the wrong number 3 times.
Now this verification method is blocked.
Try a 3rd time to login, this time with a verification code via email. Guess what: Email never comes.
So, go ahead and judge yourself.
There can be always IT hiccups, but when a supposedly digital and multimedia company doesn't manage simple login procedures, it is more than concerning.
Never mind, just a reminder as to why to get away asap.

Let me tell you something real. O2 Germany is the biggest joke of a company I have ever seen. When you walk in they sell you dreams. Fast internet, great packages, smiles all around. You feel like you just made a smart move. First month? Everything is smooth, fast, top quality. But once they have you locked into that two year contract, the real game begins.
Suddenly, the internet slows down to the point you can barely open a website. Speed? Gone. Service? Nonexistent. You are stuck paying for trash service for two full years. Cancel? Forget it. You are locked in. It is like modern slavery with Wi-Fi.
And here is my real question.
Does law even exist in Germany?
Or do companies just scam people openly without any investigation?
Over 11,000 reviews and still sitting at a miserable 2 stars. What more proof do you need? How is this allowed to continue? Where are the so called consumer protection authorities? Asleep at the wheel?
O2 you should be ashamed. Germany, wake up🙌

The worst company. The employees don’t even want and seem to work. Never help. I was trying to take a Termin, that the Techniker O2 said me to do for the whole half of month.

O2 Is a Disgrace – Dishonest, Disorganized, and Completely Incompetent
If I could give O2 zero stars, I would. This company has pushed me beyond frustration into pure rage with their complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and honesty.
Let’s start with the 60€ fine they slapped me with because they couldn’t process a direct debit — even though I had already paid that month via Apple Pay. So I’m being punished for their broken systems.
Then I lost my SIM card. I paid 10€ for a duplicate, was told it would be delivered via email in 3 business days. It never arrived. Not even a whisper. I called their customer service hotline twice, and both times I was lied to — told my case was being escalated and I’d hear back. I heard nothing. No follow-up. No resolution. Just silence.
Out of desperation, I called again. This time, I was advised to switch from prepaid to postpaid, because “then we can help you.” I agreed, hoping it would finally lead to something being resolved. Another mistake.
I was told that since I’m under 29 and already a customer, I wouldn’t pay any registration fee, and my monthly plan would be 19.99€. I also explicitly asked them to cancel my prepaid card so I wouldn’t be charged for it again. The employee said yes.
Guess what? That was another lie.
– My prepaid wasn’t canceled — I was charged again.
– The contract was not set up properly.
– I found out I apparently “owe” them 40€,
– Plus, canceling this mess will now cost me another 20€.
– Oh, and they deleted my O2 account without warning — it had 28€ balance, which is now lost. No access, no refund, no explanation.
O2 is chaotic, dishonest, and infuriating to deal with. Their staff misinform, their systems are broken, and they make YOU pay for their failures. This is not just bad service — it’s negligent and unethical.
Avoid them like the plague. I’ve never been this angry with a company in my life. The emotional toll and wasted time dealing with this circus is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
Absolutely disgraceful. Shamee on you!

Yes, they lure you with rare offers, but as soon as the slightest problem arises, you will realize that it is the worst company you could ever deal with, and you will regret contacting customer service. I have had very bad experiences and the worst customer service ever.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the quality of responses I have received from your team. It appears that replies to individual customers are often generic and lack personalization, resembling copied and pasted templates. This approach undermines the essence of genuine customer service.
I question whether the O2 team truly understands the concept of "service." The current practice of charging premium fees while providing minimal after-sales support is unacceptable. If there were a rating below zero, I would not hesitate to assign it.
I urge you to reflect on this feedback and take necessary actions to improve the quality of your customer service.

This company is awful. We were victims of a scam and they will not give an inch. We have to pay the full cost of the scam. There is zero regard for the customer despite 12 years of our loyalty, only demands for your money. In addition, the voice mail feature of my phone does not work but they will not fix it. Do not expect them to help you even when they post a nice little note in response to your review!! They just send you back through the same pointless cycle of hitting a brick wall.

Terrible service
We purchased fastest internet with O2. At the beginning everything looked nice but suddenly the internet cuts, day by day in the same time. Every week 5 days or 6 the internet is not working and not one time per day, more.
Don’t go with them, shit and mafia company.
And don’t bother yourself calling the customers service cause they just don’t care, you will always receive the same answer, we can not do nothing. Excuse me? I’m paying for a service that you are not providing me. This should be reportable against the court.
