Unoccupied house insurance
I’m so glad I found Nova, they have been the easiest to deal with by miles. No waiting on hold for half an hour like some others and Fae understood my requirements totally, they didn’t ask me loads of questions I couldn’t answer like some other insurance companies. I would highly recommend Nova.

AVOID THIS COMPANY
AVOID THIS COMPANY - NOVA whose underwriters are Markerstudy/Westbay/Zenith.
We submitted a claim to NOVA that was eventually picked up by Markerstudy which then morphed into Zenith/Westbay some 30 months after we submitted our claim - Still awaiting our vehicle and no end to the case.
Our case was submitted to our insurer NOVA in May 21 We put the vehicle into the garage to check the fan sensor as it had overheated going over some rough terrain - MoT clear in December 20. Taking the vehicle to the garage was a precautionary measure. Up to the point the vehicle was driving fine and we had been driving it around town without incident. The garage owner later informed us that one of their 'boys' had accidentally put cold water into the coolant tank and it had damaged the cylinder head. They refused to accept liability and we made a claim to our insurers (shortened version of the saga) NOVA. After being passed around to several departments we spoke with Mr Arbuckle who passed it on to Markerstudy. We thought the first experience was bad and unprofessional the following was to redefine unprofessionalism. We were evenatually /Markerstudy/Zenith/Westbay).
We contacted Trading Standards and they did nothing (small nepotistic place) and then the owner decided to charge storage fees retrospectively in the hope that we would deem it too expensive to retrieve the vehicle and thus the damage not discovered.Despite several attempts no other garage would touch it due to liability issues (or so we were told). Later found out this person is well known for doing this including the issuance of false MoT's (to a lawyer no less!) with a "death trap".
We informed Markerstudy, by this time (December 22) we had finally got Markerstudy to accept the claim twice refused, twice accepted, and time had marched on. We finally prised the vehicle away from the garage owner in November 22 (refused the first time to release it) and it was transported to Copart on behalf of Markerstudy/Zenith/Westbay who then damaged the whole front of the vehicle shortly after it arrived in December 2021 to the value of £2500 (quote provided to them). They offered £300. Neither Markerstudy or Copart told us about the additional damage until November/December 2022, not even the FOS told us that our vehicle had been damaged until we insisted on providing us with the Independent Engineers Report organised by Markerstudy, that we had been asking for since the Independent Assessment had taken place in February 22 (which we discovered was not completed as Copart staff were not available to answer questions). The damage was not even properly catalogued beyond the photos.
I could go on about the catalogue of failings, but we are now in late February 2023, some two years plus since the incident and we are still without a vehicle and no end to the case. We know that the FOS is incompetent and we know that FOS tried to cover for the Garage and Copart, or at the very least did not conduct a proper investigation as to be at best negligent and at worst complicit. This is currently with the FOS Independent Assessor, who had yet to replay and are late according to their own timescales.
From our experience of NOVA/Markerstudy/Zenith/Westbay, I would say steer clear of this company, they are absolute charlatans and crooks. They do not have enough cover with their underwriters for accidental damage or malicious damage caused by garages and are fooling their clients who fall victim to this kind of issue. Their so-called legal department is Witt (never yet had my case referred to their legal department). The company has multiple layers of other companies. Markerstudy, WestBay (registered in Gibraltar) and Zenith which are all a part of the same organisation. None are competent or indeed fit for purpose.
This company should be investigated by the SFO and Trading Standards because they are committing fraud. The policies are a fraud as they do not provide what they say they do and they will lie to you. FOS are not fit for purpose.

Unoccupied House Insurance
One of the few companies giving unoccupied house insurance, unoccupied house insurance is much more expensive and with less cover. Nova at least gave a choice of cover/price.

Competitive Insurance cover
I chose Nova Insurance to give me a quote for an unoccupied property and Sarah Banks contacted me by phone following my email enquiry. She was very helpful, clear & concise without being "pushy" and provided me with 3 separate quotes. Once I had decided which policy best suited me Sarah sent me confirmation by email following payment. I would recommend this company they provide a good service competitively priced and thanks to Sarah for her assistance :)
