Not meeting required standards

To be clear, I’m currently in dispute with North East Solar regarding the quality of workmanship. I have had to involve Trading Standards.
I read the 3 reviews on TrustPilot and agree regarding Callum being friendly and helpful. I also agree with the comment suggesting you look for more experienced electricians and the issue of crucial inverter mistakes resonated in my case!
I sold my house and needed someone to relocate the batteries and inverter. The job was quoted by 2 other companies at similar cost and to take 1.5-2 days. Red flags were waving when North East Solar competed the work in less than 4 hours… In fact, it was far from complete… it needed several re-visits over a duration of over 3 months to return the system to a working condition!
An independent engineer has assessed the work and concluded many issues failing to meet regulated standards and some of which are unsafe.
I would not recommend North East Solar and I would strongly encourage anyone to consider very carefully the specific detail of any work that they contract to do.

Excellent service

Excellent service. Whole team are on the ball from initial enquiry through to final installation completion. Highly responsive in ensuring we were kept fully informed and supported throughout the whole process. All the work carried out to a very high standard and within in a quick time frame. Very accessible and engaging in terms of contact and client approach. Real pleasure to deal with them

Excellent friendly service and knowledgeable staff

Generally speaking my experience was very good.

Callum was extremely helpful, patient and friendly at the initial quoting stage and carefully explained everything and my many many questions!

There were a few delays here and there with communication and a failed first install that took all day (install day 2) - (a wire was installed in the inverter incorrectly) - I had to wait another week to get that fixed. I had to wait again for a fix for a tile that was damaged and the bird proofing to be attached after the scaffolding had come down. Whilst I felt incredibly excited and impatient at the same time, I did my best to take it in my stride and hope it'd all work out.

That optimism was well placed - since the install finished at the end of July, I've now generated 1.67MWh of electricity and everything is running well.

Points for improvement would be to try and take out the single point of failure for communication. Many days of no response doesn't fill anyone with the hope they're being acknowledged.

Perhaps use more experienced electricians so it doesn't take 2 days who won't make a crucial mistake on the inverter.

Even after that, I would still recommend them. They will get the job done, and done well (minus a few delays).

I've since asked for a quote for another family member and even my neighbour asked for a quote!

My system:
14 460w panels, 12 south, 2 West
6kw fox inverter
5kwh fox battery.
~£8000

Cheers guys, here's to a green future and (almost) energy independence.

Totally beats Project Solars ridiculous offer of £15,000 for panels north and south (more panels and slightly higher peak gen), large 8-10kwh battery and a generous 10% interest payments over 25 years to pay around £25,000 over that time. Crazy.

Solar and battery storage installed

Contact them for a quote and had an. Amazing experience all the way through.
They came out to carry about a survey and no hard sales at all. Spent a little time explaining what could be installed and the options and said I’d receive a quote by email. That arrived same day!
Absolute no pressure to buy which was completely different to other companies I got quotes from.
Install was really well done and all the guys who came were friendly.
Highly recommended if you are looking for solar and/or battery storage.
