Terrible company- do not use

I ordered a chair and paid over £500 for it in November 2021 .
The delivery time was estimated at 6-12 weeks.
It is now 14th April and I have not received it and the company are not responding to my emails and their phone number goes straight to voicemail.
Do not use this company.

AVOID at all cost

AVOID at all cost! Absolutely appalling service (or lack of it), no customer support after placing the order.

First, taking double the time than the advertised timescale to deliver the items (one is still in production, ordered first week of January). They have decided to just ship the second item without even asking/confirming delivery dates - just sent like a postcard. As I am travelling for 2 weeks, they have forced the delivery and left the item in a public space that ready to be collected by anyone!!!

They don't reply to emails, the phone is off.

Absolutely terrible - don't buy anything and go elsewhere!

Email communication is been so poor as well and we still have not received any clarification after more than 10 weeks for our £1000 order ! Who ever runs this business needs to leave the post to real professional people with genuine customer care ! Please do not waste the time by replying to the review , instead reply to emails with high priority.

Very poor service.

I placed an order over a week ago and did not receive any information about the order having been shipped. I wrote an email asking for clarification because I need the items for a birthday gift. I did not receive a reply. I then phoned and asked to cancel the order. The person I spoke to acknowledged they had received my email, and had not replied, but she also told me it was too late to cancel the order! What terrible service. I will not order from this company again.

We are sorry that you did not see the message about our opening times being Mon - Fri 9-5. Sadly you emailed in to enquire about your order during the weekend when our offices are closed, which is why we were unable to reply to you. Our lovely customer care lady who you spoke to earlier tried to explain that they were unable to reply due to our office being closed at weekends.

Due to incredibly high order volumes because of the Sale, we have made it very clear on the website that during this exceptionally busy time, delivery times are longer than normal and have made sure to highlight this by stating that delivery time can be up to 10 working days from placing the order.

If you would like to email your order number to our customer care team, we can try and intercept the order for you, to try and stop it before it is shipped if it hasn’t already.

Waiting for a refund of almost £200. From other reviews it may take a while. Won't be using this business again. If other, smaller, companies can process refunds quickly they all can.

Outrageous delivery charge

I wanted to order 2 candles and a candle holder from Nordic House. This would have been a small parcel. I was therefore shocked to see the delivery charge would be £16.80, and this was to a mainland UK address.
Totally unacceptable. I cancelled the order and will not using this company again.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your shopping experience with us, and I’m sorry to hear that you are disappointed.
For areas of the UK that the couriers define as outlying, we do understand that this can make placing an order cost-prohibitive for individual or smaller items, like the candles and candle holder you mention. This charge is simply the cost of the service from DPD and is the price per box regardless of size and the items inside. We list the cost for our courier delivery service on the delivery page of our website, and the postcodes that this relates to. If your postcode is not listed, please do contact us and we'll be happy to look into this further for you.
The vast majority of items that we sell are fragile or of high value, and for this reason, we are obliged to use a courier service to ensure swift and safe delivery. We choose to partner with DPD as in our experience, they offer the most reliable service and a market-leading tracking dashboard for customers.
Unlike individual customers, our team members aren’t able to post one or two items at the Post Office; we have to arrange bulk collections from our warehouse. We have extensively looked into this, but using Royal Mail sadly isn’t appropriate for most of the orders we ship, so we wouldn’t be able to send the volumes of parcels to make it a cost-effective service for us or customers.
As an independent, family-run business, our customers are at the heart of everything we do. We are continually looking at ways to make shopping with us an enjoyable experience, which includes increasing our reach to customers worldwide. Rest assured that when we find a suitable solution for a service that is safe, fully tracked, insured, and more competitively priced, this will be implemented.

Perfect

What a lovely shopping experience from start to finish. Caroline from customer services was so helpful so big shout out to her. I don’t shop on line so was a little confused as to timelines from order to delivery but Caroline put my mind at ease. I bought a concrete bowl for my candles and it is just perfect, so lovely and well made. The bowl came really well packed and I am so pleased with it. I’m already looking to see what I can buy next!

Amazing quality

Pleased with purchase and delivery!

The fragile product I ordered was well packaged in recycled materials. It arrived the next morning in perfect condition. Really pleased with the product itself, exactly as it looked on the website and of good quality. Would order from this company again!

Fantastic customer service and ,beautiful products

I ordered 2 graceful ceramic vases as a gift for Christmas, they arrived on the Tuesday before Christmas and the box was damaged, when opened the largest vase was broken.i called customer service and spoke to Kirsty who was extremely helpful, she advised if I could send a picture of the damaged box etc, she could issue a new vase to be despatched immediately and hopefully it would arrive before Christmas. The new vase was here Christmas Eve, thanks to Kirsty for her prompt dealing with the issue
The vases are lovely and will look beautiful in my daughters new home.
Will definitely use Nordic house again, if all products are of the same standard as the vases. Thank you

Terrible customer service!

I ordered 2 cushions which I returned as the colour in reality was much duller than those shown in the pic online! Even though I queried having to pay for the returns which I resent doing I received an email acknowledging receipt of the returns and advising that they would reimburse me within 3-5 days. A month later still no payment has been received and they have not replied to my email! Terrible customer service - wish I’d read other similar reviews before I ordered. Will not be using this company again!

Following on from our phone conversation this morning, we were so glad to hear that you have received all the emails that we have sent you. Customer care is at the heart of everything we do here at Nordic House, and we respond to all emails that we receive, so were concerned that our correspondence may have been caught in your spam filter.

We would very much like to take the time to highlight our customer care team’s communication regarding the return:

18th November - confirmation of the return and your chosen returns service.
20th November – response to your feedback regarding the cushions and returns charge from our Customer Care Team Leader.
2nd December – confirmation that the refund had been processed.
17th December – response to your email (sent 16th December), which included a copy of the refund confirmation provided by our payment processors.

Once the refund has been processed, the transfer of funds is arranged between the banks, which typically takes between 3-5 working days. In this instance, you will need to contact your credit card company in order to establish why the funds aren’t showing on your statement. The refund confirmation supplied by our payment provider that you received from us via email yesterday, should have all the information that you need, but if there is anything else that they require, please do let us know.

The colours displayed on any website do vary depending on individual screen setting preferences. Although we always hope our customers will love the products they have chosen; we appreciate there are occasions that products aren’t suitable. Returns information and prices are available to view on our website, and our customer care team are always on hand to discuss the best and most economical return options based on the items chosen.

Delivery charges for outlying UK is…

Delivery charges for outlying UK is disgusting, why companies do not use the Royal Mail for these areas i really dont know. Has definitely stopped me and I bet many other potential customers from buying from them.

Ordered a couple of things from this…

Ordered a couple of things from this Company now and found them really good. I think the products are quite charming. Things dispatched very quickly and the delivery service has always been really good. Everything I have ordered so far has been breakable (plates, ceramic items etc) but they all arrived well packaged and in one piece.
