I was getting bombarded by spam callers…
I was getting bombarded by spam callers until I installed Nomorobo. I don't know what else to say. It won't stop them all but using it totally changed my relationship with my phone. It's very satisfying to see "missed calls" which were blocked by Nomorobo and be able to report spam numbers so they don't get through a second time.
Thank Goodness They Offer a Trial
I canceled the service less than a week after signing up for their 2-week trial. Their service did nothing to stop the parade of robocalls hitting my mobile phone. Ironically, one of the few calls they did flag was actually a call from a hospital that I'd been waiting for. I cannot recommend.
I'm glad I read the reviews because…
I'm glad I read the reviews because they saved me money that I would have wasted on this app that doesn't work. Thank you everyone who posted a review I will keep my money in my pocket and deal with all those robocalls.
Nomorobo no longer works for us, period.
AFAICT Nomorobo simply does not work at ALL anymore. We get an enormous number of robocalls (10 to 20 a day) and some have always gotten through. I understand why that happens, but for the last couple of months I don't believe we've had a single signature "one ring and then blocked" call. Moreover, it seems to me that this behavior started rather suddenly. I checked and Nomorobo CLAIMS that it is still active on our landline.
It seems to me that there are several possible explanations:
1) Nomorobo is no longer making our phone ring once before blocking. I suspect that isn't possible and it is inconsistent with the fact that the overall frequency of spam calls hasn't noticeably changed.
2) Callers from numbers Nomorobo blocks ALL suddenly stopped calling us a couple of months ago. That just doesn't seem very likely for lots of reasons including the fact that it doesn't explain the suddenness of the change in our experience.
3) Nomorobo's list of robocallers is now obsolete because ALL spam calls now universally use spoofed phone numbers that they change before Nomorobo can get on top of them. That seems pretty likely to me although it also doesn't explain the sudden change.
4) Nomorobo isn't actually monitoring our landline despite saying that they are.
More spam than before Nomorobo
Wouldn’t even give them one star if there was a way to rate lower. Can’t believe I just wasted 20 dollars for this useless app!
Keeps billing after service is cancelled
I had Nomorobo for over a year and it did very little to stop spam and robocalls from coming to my phone. I canceled the service deleted it from my phone and they still keep charging me. I have contacted them by email numerous times and they keep emailing the same thing that I've already done about removing the service from my phone yet somehow since it was an automatic payment, I've tried to have my bank stop, it keeps going through. This company is a total rip-off!! You can't call the customer service and emails are ignored except for sending an automated response on how to delete the service from your iPhone which I don't have. According to my bank I may have to change my bank account to get this to stop coming out.
Not blocking anonymous calls at all.
I am get 15 phone calls a day from various anonymous '844' numbers. 15. I report them every day. The next day a new set of '844' numbers pops up. I thought NoMoRobo was blocking 'anonymous' calls? They are not.
useless getting just as many car warranty calls
I got tired of the car warranty calls and installed nomorobo on my cells phone. Luckily there is a 14 day trial period. Cancelled before the trial was over. Received about as many car warranty calls as before and my phone does not show a single incoming call as spam
If I could give the service no star
If I could give the service no star, it would reflect how poor this product works. I tried to get it to work, updating the services almost daily and at least 5 times a week I got robo calls for Extended Warranties or a new credit card to consolidate debt (which I have none). Last week I received a call from Microsoft Support to let me know my computer's been hacked. Of course, that all bull s**t. I switched to a free service and so far, no calls. The product did not work for me and of course, there's no refund. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nomorobo - NoMoWorking.
Nomorobo used to work very well when I first signed up for the free version for my landline. I had even considered getting the paid version for my cell phone. I'm glad now that I did not do so. Lately I've been getting NUMEROUS robocalls - everything from auto warranty scams to "complimentary" stay at Marriot Hotels -- oh yeah, and the "suspicious activity on your Apple account" one - I don't even have an Apple account.
Nomorobo worked very well for years
Nomorobo worked very well for years. Now it seems like it does not block any calls. Yes, it is activated and I did test it to be sure our land line was protected. it just does not work anymore???
Useless
Useless. I use on my landline. I am getting at least as many robo calls since i signed up. Maybe even more!
Horrible. Won’t cancel my trial
Signed up but they can’t block the bulk email to text I am getting. Tried to cancel during the trial period but was charged anyway. There doesn’t appear to be an easy way to contact them.
Completely useless
Completely useless. Spam calls are worse than ever.
Since i have signed up i get more spam…
Since i have signed up i get more spam texts and unknown numbers which their service cant seem to block i have all the settings set correctly im cancelling this from now on im going to answer and scream at the top of my lungs
Since I downloaded the app I have…
Since I downloaded the app I have started to get 5 spam texts a day. I never got spam texts prior to paying for this service. It is a scam. Does nothing to prevent spam callers it only made it worse
Terrible
I've had nomorobo for about 3 years, I get it free through my carrier. I've reported hundreds of numbers, probably thousands by now, but calls still get through. I've asked repeatedly about a caller named 'async' which uses different numbers, calls at least 4 times a week and leaves robo messages on my answering device. All to no avail, never a response from nomorobo. And it seems to be getting worse everyday. If it's free it can't hurt but do not pay for it! It is horrible and does not work.
just a waste of time downloading
just a waste of time downloading , does not work
Nomorobo sounded great, but
Nomorobo sounded great. They were recommended by People in High Places! But what do they really do?
Here's how it works: you get a spam phone call (mostly camouflaged behind a fake caller ID). You report the call on the Nomorobo site. Nomorobo says they'll block that number from ever calling you again.
Sounds good, doesn't it? But:
I've had the service for the better part of a year. I've reported hundreds and hundred of numbers. I still get up to TEN robocalls A DAY. Figure it out: the number of fake phone numbers the spammers can use is literally infinite. So I'm wasting time. I'm not sure what Nomorobo gets out of this, but I know I'm not getting much. Finally I just turned my phone off and I monitor the voice mail a lot.
Didn't work on robocalls
Didn't work on robocalls, then started requiring all incoming callers to enter 2 digit code. Scared off most of my callers, even family!
