Would not recomend.

We where a group of 6,
out celebrating a birthday. What was mentioned when the booking the table. Even wrote if a cake could be made, or that a cake could be brought by us. But cleary that message was lost in translation.
3 of us was not happy with the overall food experience. Menu was confusing, went for a sharing platter. And have to pay 12,5 pounds for 100gr, and the smallest size to ordner was 600 gr, do the math, 72 pound. And everything Else had to be ordered as side dishes. And the steak, that was ordered as well done, came in 4 small pices, we wondered if the chef had mixed the up the coal in the grill with the steak,it was that burned and uneatable. A good chef knows to grill a steak.
And because off the reputation the Coal Shed has, we expected a lot more. In terms of good food and service. The service we felt, at least the 3 of us, was that we felt left out from rest of the table. Felt that the staff was inattentive and did not really listen to you. The dessert for the 3 of us, once again a sharing platter, did not came with the rest of the table.
Overall,

When you have left a place such as The Coal Shed, a popular, expencive resturant that has all good reviews. You want to feel satisfied, happy and that you have spent your money right. But we left feeling unsatisfied, cheated, uncomfortable and we felt like something was missing.
It felt like we could have gone to the chip shop down the road and be more satisfied than we were at The Coal Shed.

Due to our experience we would not recommend it to others nor will we returen.

A little bit old fashioned

I think Tripadvisor is a great tool and supports my choices when going to either restaurants, hotels etc.

I still think it can be difficult to do the right searches, get too many choices when one has searched for a specific thing.

But in general it's a tool which is very helpful and I also like to give good and honest reviews as it feels reliable and trustworthy.

Trip Adviser is a useful tool to plan…

Trip Adviser is a useful tool to plan and find new places to visit, to stay or to eat. As its based upon feedback from other travelers or visitors it must be kept in mind that the recommendations are subjective as likes are as different as people are. However, I experience that it will mostly give a good guide to what to expect. I use it a lot!!

Very pleased with TripAdvisor

Very pleased with TripAdvisor. Been a true friend on all my holidays! And I love how you can read both facts and reviews from other people. I’m more interested in other people’s opinion than what the owner of the places say.
