They force you to complete courses you don't need, and it is not the best place for sculptors. You have to turn in 140 other drawing assignments before you get to sculpt, and none of the teachers draw before they sculpt. You have to buy tokens (expensive), and if you cancel your membership, your tokens are non-refundable. I'm out $130 and learned nothing new from it. waste of money.

NMA is a wonderful place to learn and I can attest that my skills levelled up fast when properly following their assignment handing in programme and the course.

The teaching is out of this world and I like the structure of everything, the presentation of the site. The feedback on work is always helpful and insightful. You can tell the staff really know their stuff and care to do their job well.

I've tried a few online art schools, and the level of teaching, the breadth of subjects and the production quality at NMA are the best I've seen. These are some of the best online art courses available, with a highly affordable subscription. I've learned so much, and yet I'm only scratching the surface of years of learning ahead of me. Can't recommend NMA enough.

Since joining in late 2021, NMA has not only delivered on every point, they have reset my expectations for myself and for my art education. Specifically, the NMA learning tracks and coursework have put me on a clear and rigorous path to achieving my most ambitious artistic goals. The group and individual coaching programs have given me incredible access to multiple world class artists and accelerated my development. The NMA community of artists (instructors, coaches, TA's, and students) has given me all of the engagement and support of an academic campus experience. It's also a ridiculous value. If you're called to the artist's journey, NMA is the way.

I was so excited when I discovered New Masters Academy 2 years ago. I was desperately searching for a serious, high quality and professional online course which would fill the gap in my quest for artistic knowledge and skills. NMA is by far the most complete online art academy in existence today. There are many art schools, courses or programs online that specialize in drawing, painting or art history but none to my knowledge encompass the whole gamut of art education from drawing, anatomy, figure, still life and landscape painting (my personal interest), illustration and comic arts, sculpting, 3d character art, artistic expression and style to name just a few. All of the instructors are well known professional artists who are very inspiring and skilled in communicating their expertise. What I particularly enjoy is the flexibility of the courses. Students can take part in live classes and receive critical analysis after doing the exercises or view the courses at their leisure when schedules are too tight to attend. You can even purchase personalized coaching sessions which really come in handy when you're stuck or experience painter's block. All in all I don't think one can find an academy as complete as New Masters Academy. I wish them continued success and am so grateful that they exist for budding artists such as me who can't find good art instruction locally.

This website is amazing. A great thanks to people who are working on it and all the artists who take times to give us the best advises and detailed lessons. I'm interested in drawing precisely and my only matter here is to progress fast enough to work on all the resources I'd like.

Great, in-depth classes which cover a lot of ground. Very helpful in learning how to make art, and a wide variety of topics across the entire field. Well worth it.

I could say so many great things about New Masters Academy - I just feel so fortunate that I found it a year ago, and took the leap of subscribing. In that year I've completed at least four full courses, including two live ones. The live courses are incredible value - it's amazing the value you get for the price. The proof in the pudding is that the other day I happened to look at some drawings I was doing in my first weeks, and then looked at things I'm producing now and i have clearly improved a huge amount. The vision, passion and dedication of the team is obvious too - this isn't just a cold content site. You know there is a team behind it who are constantly experimenting and striving for improvements. In short I'd absolutely recommend NMA.

New Masters Academy is top of the line art instruction. I wasn’t able to attend art school due to the price of private art school, and my inability to receive financial aid for public art school, due to already having an undergraduate degree. Without New Masters, I would not have been able to complete my art education in any kind of meaningful way. Over the past two years, I have improved dramatically, and even won an art contest, despite having started my art education late in life. I would recommend this school to anyone who is serious about their art education.

Better than an onsight education as you are able to observe in detail methods and different approaches that are used to tackle a subject, with the advantage of repeating the sessions if needed.
The website is well structured and user friendly and let's you personalise your learning trajectory. And courses are being added constantly.
The included image library with well lit subjects are a welcome upgrade, as well as the tutoring offered, if interested.
I am a member for three years now and will continue as the learning never ends.

I am a mid career artist but constantly striving to improve and learn new things. New masters has been my best learning experience online so far. Especially the courses by Steve Huston, Ray Bustos and Glenn Vilppu have been a tremendous resource for me. Furthermore, the huge library of references and live models comes in very handy during my daily sketching routines. Happy to be part of this passionate community.

The best online art school there is. Abolute amazing Teachers, who love their profession. Doesn’t matter if you are an beginner or advanced student, their is always inspiration and something new to learn, to push yourself to the next level.
