I have been trying to cancel my account for one month

I have been a NextPBX/Voicenation and now Ninja Number customer since 2009. I contacted them one month ago to port my number away. Support tickets, support emails went unanswered. The support phone line (when you dig around enough to actually find it) goes to a human answering service. One month after my initial call, I am still waiting for Ninja Number to respond in any sort of meaningful way that gives a result to cancel my service. I have had to register a new phone number with all the hassles of changing a number over. They are still charging my credit card. It is not possible to cancel online (as they repeatedly tell me I must do) as the billing tab gives an error page not found message, as do most support options.
AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE.

After 20 years, we're DONE with NinjaNumber

Almost 20-years a VoiceNation/SimplyOne/NextPBX/NinjaNumber customer. They are now stand-alone, no affiliation with VoiceNation ... however, NN uses VN's live answering service!!! Go figure. There is no customer service at NN. No one ever returns an email, a phone call. Zero response even via Chat (also using VN!). Not sure how they can be so NONresponsive. That Care2Call nonprofit program, is leftover from VN, no response from NN. Rate increases were crazy. Most recent rate is/was well-above the stated rate. The actual messaging interface and service was great. We are done.

Avoid at all costs

FRAUD - FRAUD - FRAUD. Avoid at all costs.
Ninja Number gets ahold of your credit card number and continues to bill with no way to contact them. Emails go unanswered. Phone number always go to a "message service", to which NO ONE every responds to the message.

Poor customer service - Nonexistent!

I have left several messages with answering service that opens a support ticket and escalates my request for sales person to call and noone ever calls! I have opened several support tickets online since Oct and no response. Now I cannot even open a support ticket online! I've been a customer of Voice Nation since the early days and had the best customer service experience. Since my voicemail only account become part of NinjaNumber, the service has become non existent and noone seems to want my business or even care.

The sad thing is NinjaNumber is located in the same office suite as VoiceNation and are sister companies, yet the service is so poor, I don't see how they are still in business. Time to move to another voicemail service pronto!

Grossly overpriced, no customer service, constant price increases

I'm an 8 yr customer with this service, which went well when it was operated by Voicenation, but acquired by NextPBX/Ninja-Number 2 yrs ago - and service has gone downhill from there. They immediately doubled the price of service (+200% price increase, and then doubled it again the following year 400% and again the year after that to the point I was paying nearly x6 the amount I had 2 yrs prior under Voicenation. Oddly, you call their customer service line (Voicenation had great customer service reps) however, Ninja-number DOES NOT - they have a "message service" were a person takes your info and requests, then forwards it into oblivion - an they won't return any emails. After being ripped off for years for an overpriced service, I canceled when they gave their latest price increase (they will only give you a 2-wk notice - which btw, is a violation of FCC regulations) - yet they STILL charged my account for a canceled service. - Voicenation was a good company - but its affiliate NextPBX/Ninja-Number is running their business into the ground with their greed and lack of CS.

I'm not even sure how long my toll free number has been down. A client informed me yesterday. I logged onto the site and it says I owe $9.95 which I immediately paid. The credit card on file wasn't working as I replaced it a few months ago when it was compromised. All Ninja had to do was send an email or phone call saying my credit card wasn't working and I would have updated it immediately. Instead they turned off a number I've had for 15+ years. Voice Nation was much better.

I would give 0 stars if possible

The communication here is NON-EXISTENT. My service has been down for weeks; I have called too many times to count, only to encounter the "answering service" that will leave a message for "Tier 2 Support". Which leads to........absolutely nothing. Just being ignored. E-mails produce the same result. I was a VoiceNation customer who was brought over to this service (and I still have another account with VoiceNation), so I called them and begged for help. They told me that NinjaNumber is a "sister company" and all they could do was leave a message for "Tier 2 Support" to contact me. Well I know how that goes. They are beyond horrible.

All around horrible

Can't receive texts, period. The call forwarding works only when it wants to, and call quality is laughable. The price went from $9.95 a month to $13.95, and even after I called in to put in a ticket to cancel service, they promptly ignored me. Would NOT recommend.

Tech Support is Laughable

Their so-called technical support is laughable! After entering two tickets online and calling their tech support number four times, I still got no response. I eventually found a number, which is for their sister company, Voice Nation. I needed to get them to release two toll free numbers to another provider after I chose to leave them after they doubled the monthly cost. I eventually was able to speak with a Voice Nation rep, Marti, who walked my request over to their technical support people. They released one number and I am STILL trying to get the other one done. Parting note, I have been a customer since 2008 when they were Voice Nation. After spinning off to Ninja Number, their support levels declined. Word of advice to Ninja Number, customers have too many options to stay with a company that does not value their customers. Customers do not have to put up with being ignored. Work on improving your customer support. Get a dedicated support line and not an answering service that can only take messages, and respond to your support tickets in a timely manner.

Used to be a decent service

Used to be a decent service. Recently my call forwarding number stopped working. Found out it was down for a few months. The number no longer shows up when I log into my account. Complained today but still no fix. I would not recommend this service to anyone that values reliability.

VEHEMENTLY DO NOT RECOMMEND NINJA NUMBER!

We have been customers since "Ninja Number/Simply One/NextPBX was Voice Nation at its inception many years ago.

Over the years, the reliability of the phone service has SIGNIFICANTLY DECLINED - and CUSTOMER SERVICE has become NON-EXISTENT. As well, as the phone system evolved and became much more complicated - there is no real GUIDEBOOK, explanation or customer service to assist with set up, changing and / or using the PBX system. When referred to the webpage for this info - there is very sparse information and does not provide an overview or true guidance for full use of this very intricate phone system.

Over the past year or so - we have had several COMPLETE PHONE SERVICE OUTAGES, during which WE COULD NOT REACH CUSTOMER SERVICE. After multiple calls - we reached only a "call-center," someone took messages but nobody called us back. While on the phone-call with the "call center," the call center phone lines cut us off mid-sentence. REPEATEDLY! I mean, multiple (25+) times. I'm not exaggerating!

The most recent service outage (a few months ago) was for several days. We are a small Healthcare business - and OUR PATIENTS COULD NOT REACH US. We're talking about pregnant women and oncology patients undergoing critical care - unable to reach their healthcare providers.

Never once did we receive an email, or any other kind of notification from Ninja Number/Simply One/NextPBX letting us know the system status update, what had happened, when it would be resolved. No apologies, no concern, NO COMMUNICATION. We always found out because our patients would start emailing us stating they could not reach us! This is a horrible situation for any small business and makes us look terrible.

During this recent outage, after desperate multiple calls to the call center (and getting disconnected multiple times) - I finally had an actual "customer service" person from the company contact me. The Customer Service gentleman (NOT!) was completely unhelpful. He simply stated that the company's own "service provider" had a major network issue, it was unknown when it would be resolved, and there was nothing he could do about it.

At the end of a frustrating conversation (no apology, no true understanding of our situation, no empathizing whatsoever) - I finally asked him to direct us to a GUIDEBOOK on using the system. This way I could figure out how to redirect the calls somehow - since it wasn't working as currently configured.

He stated that he would be happy to walk me through it on the phone. Honestly, I no longer wanted to talk with him. I re-stated: "No thank you, just please send us a guidebook or cheat-sheet - or SOMETHING, so I can try to redirect the system on my own." He restated that he could stay on the phone to walk me through it, but was unable to send me a guidebook, instructions, or anything that would provide guidance to work with the phone system as a reference.

On my end, I felt like no matter how much I tried to explain to him why I thought is strange that the Ninja Number/Simply One/NextPBX didn't have some basic handbook for reference on using the phone system for their customers (ME) - he would never address this directly. No explanation, no comment on how that would make sense and he's sorry it wasn't available, no welcoming of feedback as in "Gee, thanks for the suggestion." Nothing but, "I can walk you through it on the phone, that's the only way I can help."

Please understand that I had no interest in staying on the phone with him. I wanted something concrete I could refer to the NEXT TIME there was an outage and it took me THREE DAYS TO REACH CUSTOMER SERVICE. No way! So, I declined and continued to ask for some written or digital resource that could allow me to work with the system on my own.

Throughout the entire conversation, I was absolutely respectful in my use of language, no threats or swearing or yelling or other inappropriate language or tone on my part. I was extremely frustrated - but, also extremely professional.

After 10 minutes of circular conversation, he finally stated to me that he could not provide what I needed - and let me know he had decided "he should hang up." He stated that "I [he] didn't yell, or use foul language, and I think I should just hang up." His inference was that he was "frustrated" and would have liked to (yell, use foul language). Then he did. He hung up on me.

That was it! What else is there to say . . .

I will be reporting my experience to the Better Business Bureau

Tech support eventually ignores you.

I have been with ninja or its predecessor company for several years. No problem until recently. Unlike other reviews, I had no problem speaking with tech support, and he (probably just one) was very friendly, and tried to help with my problem. But, after it could not be resolved, he has repeatedly ignored many emails. When a caller connects with my number after 2-3 dial tones, there's often a three to four second pause (white noise) before one more ring and then my outgoing message. Therefore, many callers may hang-up. Avoid this company.

HORRID CUSTOMER SERVICE

Really really horrible customer service. I have never been treated so rude in my life when I did get someone to answer. Then for ongoing support... zero. They won't call you back. They have this attitude that it's all there, just look on the site. The features work intermittently. They told me it would do things it won't so they later retracted. Too late, it's printed on my materials! Wish I'd never signed up.

I have been with Ninja for 8 years by way of voicenation and the day of Thanksgiving, where I get the most calls for donations and video work, all of my numbers stopped working and have disappeared from my dashboard. I called tech support and obtained an answering service and was told it may take 2 to 3 days to get a response and that's not including a holiday weekend. My service is mysteriously gone and I can't get any answers or help while our organization is embarrassed and humiliated by the experience.

Our nonprofit corp contacted Ninjanumber.com to help with a fund-raising campaign. They allegedly provide free/grant through a program on their website, I followed the instruction by adding a link to Ninjanumber.com on our main page and attached a copy of our IRS 501c3 determinaton letter that proves we are an exempt charity. They sent back a boiler plate "on it like a ninja" email and so far they have been just like ninjas, out of site and nowhere to be found, nothing, no explanation for not contacting us , no phone call, no rejection letter, nothing! Sent another request, more of the same "on it like a ninja". (Edited)

Update: After posting this comment, I was contacted by another representive, who apologized for our experience, and offered to give us another chance. (our 2 point application has been sent twice) I'll update after an actual commitment has been made...

Couldn't get anyone to respond from the…

Couldn't get anyone to respond from the chat system. No phone number to call. Searched their help forums to no avail. The setup was not intuitive at all past setting up voicemail. The app would freeze on my phone anytime I got to the point to set up voicemail which you have to go through the entire setup process any time you want to make any changes.
Using their web portal severely limits your ability to make system changes.

**Update**
20 minutes after they didn't respond to chat this last time, and after I left this review, I got a call from one of their techs from Georgia. I politely told him I already changed to Evoice, I would suggest it over Number Ninja.
