Told us who to avoid and look for the orange shirt reps only
When we arrived we had to wait around 45 to 60 minutes for the bus standing waiting. But departing the bus arrived on time.
The crew on the boat were very nice. We got great pictures of whales, sunset and the rocks. Didn’t like that we had to share the box of food and it was difficult to hold onto as well as holding a drink because the water was very rough. The seating was very uncomfortable on the boat. the bus driver that brought us to the marina was tailgating and speeding which made for a really scared drive.
I was never picked up from my resort for my ride to the airport. Communication to find out what was going on was nearly impossible. After Waiting a full hour because no one was responding I ended up having to take a cab and incurring a expense of $100 USD so that I would not miss my flight. I would not recommend this company for such an important commute.
The shuttle to and from the airport was very easy. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.
The representative was very helpful, fluent in English and knowledgeable about the excursions.
These people in Punta Cana are extremely confused. Had one group sitting in the van 45 minutes prior to us making it to the van. Simple and easy adjustments are made more complexed then needed. I would stay away from this company at all cost. We ended up calling a taxi the service is trash. The workers are jackasses
After a long day at airport our bus ride to resort was uplifting because of the nexus staff!!
When being picked up from my WE WERE PUT ON THE WRONG BUS GOING TO THE WRONG AIRPORT. 18 were being picked up the resort I was staying at that morning by Nexus Tours, turns out 6 people were suppose to return to La Romana Airport and 12 people should have gone to Punta Cana Airport. In what I can assume was some confusion with this bus driver, all 18 people and their luggage was loaded onto the same bus. When we went to leave the driver did begin to call names but stopped after 4 people - which was the same experience we had on the bus when we were taken to our resort so it unfortunately didn't raise any flags as my name had never actually been called. I would have assumed someone would notice an extra 12 people on their bus but this was not the case.
Once we departed our resort, we went to 3 others to pick up other passengers which is standard. However when we left our resort we were told we were missing two passengers and they had called ready to be picked up. So we even went back to our resort a SECOND TIME, again no one ever commented on the fact 12 people should have missed their correct Nexus transfer or that once again there was so many extra passengers on this bus.
The driver at this point made a joke about mixing up Punta Cana and La Romana which airports which at the time was funny and off we went. One thing to note is our flight was 5 hours delayed on the way in so we arrived at 10pm after dark. This means none of us had any idea what the drive to the airport should look like as we had essentially not seen it. All we knew was as part of the drivers joke he had said it was 30 minutes to Punta Cana Airport and 1 hour 20 to La Romana.
After 40 minutes of driving my group of 10 started getting concerned it had been more then the timed 30 minutes and we were on a highway which we didn't think we had been before. So we checked a phone map only to reveal we had been heading far away from Punta Cana this entire time. So much for sit back and enjoy the ride. At this time one person in our party went to the front to ask the driver to confirm where he was going, only to be told La Romana - very far away from where 12 of us needed to be, considering at that point our flight was taking off in a little more then 2&1/2 hours. He asked us how we ended up on his bus - we replied at his instruction. He asked how we missed name call - we replied he had not done it. The driver then proceeded to tell us he would attempt to figure it out for us. Considering we were going to be stranded in Dominican far away from our flight with very few ideas or options for his mistake, that part was appreciated considering it was his instructions that had gotten us into this mess. After 10 more minutes of him continuing to drive in the wrong direction for 1/3 of the total passengers on his bus, we were informed after the next tole he would pull over and another bus should be coming for us - a little concerning in the middle of an unfamiliar country but we were slim on options. We continued to this tole, pulled over and after waiting 5 minutes a second smaller bus/van pulled up. We then were instructed to unload, had to dig all of our baggage out of the storage- which as the first pick up on this was was not an easy task and transferred to the other vehicle. All while being berated by the original bus driver for getting on his bus - which mind you we did at his instruction. All of this was also understandably to the concern of the passengers who were on the correct bus heading to the correct location as this was also taking their time and all of their items had to be removed for ours to come out. This other bus driver - who I don't believe was in any way affiliated with Nexus then had to drive us 35 minutes back in the opposite direction to Punta Cana Airport. When we finally arrived we had 1.5 hours until out international flight departed with a lot of bags needing to be checked. All of this after having been on Nexus Buses from 8am until 11am for what should have been at most an hour and a half trip trip to pick up others and drive to the airport. We were lucky to make it to through bag check with 5 minutes to spare and security with 10 minutes before our flight boarded.
I will never step foot on another Nexus Bus, not only are they extremely disorganized - if and when mistakes are made on their part not only will they not apologize, they will blame you for simply following the instructions they gave you.
We went on the adventure boogies tour yesterday , couldn’t recommend this enough … best time ever - so worth the money and lots of variety of activities . Definitely wear something you don’t mind getting stained with orange because you do go though big puddles on the ride back after you’ve swam in the caves . You will also get to take pictures with a monkey , iguana , macaws and snakes so bring some tipping money .
It was good, a bit of a wait at the airport, the van goes to a couple hotels before it got to ours. But the transport service works well. Thank you
Transfer was about an hour late picking us up from the Cancun airport to our resort.
We stayed at the Tropical Princess Deluxe Hotel in Punta Cana, where there was a Nexus Tours representative on site. I approached him to enquire about booking a trip and asked for pricing. He repeatedly avoided providing a price, instead saying “don’t worry about the price” and pushing me to commit immediately. When I explained I needed to discuss it with my wife first, his attitude changed noticeably and he became rude, aggressive and very unprofessional. He then used inappropriate language and swore at me. I asked for his name to raise a complaint, but he covered his name badge to prevent identification
Two days later, I saw him again and attempted to mock me by smiling in my direction and waving. It was like he was actually enjoying being rude to me
When you pay lots of money to go on holiday and relax, you don’t need or expect this sort of rude and disgusting behaviour. Based on this experience, I found the representative to be unprofessional and overly aggressive in his sales approach. As a result, I would not consider using Nexus Tours in the future.
No a/c in the van the driver stopped twice to try and fix it the tour was 6 hours and ended up being nearly 11 hours a 2 hour plus time period for lunch could have been cut in half to allow time for shopping in Sayalita and missed San Pueblo al together was told we were going to stop in Buciericas but never did not impressed at all
Everything worked out excellent, from the flight, to airport transfers, to the actual resort. No issues and an enjoyable 2 weeks at the Iberostar Waves on Cozumel
