We identified a new-build home that we…

We identified a new-build home that we wanted to purchase and were encouraged by the developer to use New Home Solutions as a way to save on estate agency fees. Unfortunately, our experience was far from positive.

The process required us to obtain three separate valuations and involve two local estate agents, resulting in multiple sets of photographs being taken. This was time-consuming, disruptive, and far more stressful than expected.

We were also advised by the builder that all estate agency fees would be covered. However, one of the agents we selected could not be used because New Home Solutions were unable to cover their fees, which contradicted what we had been told at the outset.

To make matters worse, our property was listed using poor-quality photographs that did not do the home justice. These images were published without being checked or approved by us first.

It also became apparent that the valuation strategy seemed geared towards achieving a quick sale rather than securing the best possible price. I would strongly advise anyone considering this scheme to challenge any valuation provided and seek independent advice.

Customer service was another major disappointment. There was no dedicated account manager, and we were continually passed between different people and departments. This lack of ownership made communication frustrating and contributed to an overall poor experience.

In the end, we decided to withdraw from the scheme and try to sell our home privately. Looking back, and having read other reviews, we’re very glad we made that decision before the process became even more problematic.

Based on our experience, I would not recommend New Home Solutions.

Helen went above and beyond to help us…

Helen went above and beyond to help us through this journey. She kept in touch with us all the time and carried us through the peaks and troughs of this experience. She worked so hard for us and is so caring and compassionate I can’t thank her enough. Well done! I would definitely recommend

Shoutout to Karly and Helen!

Helen and Karly were absolutely fantastic throughout our home-buying journey. As first-time buyers, we were unfamiliar with the process, but both of them took the time to explain every step clearly and made us feel supported from start to finish.

We were first introduced to Karly as the sales agent, and she was amazing from day one. When another offer was placed on the house, it became quite stressful for us, but Karly was incredibly reassuring, kept us updated throughout, and helped calm our nerves. She even called us just before the office closed to let us know our offer had been accepted, which we really appreciated.

Once the offer was accepted, Helen took over and continued the excellent communication. She checked in with us regularly, kept us informed about progress in the chain, and was always proactive in making sure things kept moving. On exchange and completion day, Helen went above and beyond by chasing solicitors to help ensure everything completed smoothly that same day.

We truly cannot thank the team at New Home Solutions enough for all their hard work and support. Their constant communication, dedication, and persistence made what could have been a stressful process feel much smoother and quicker.

Thank you again, Karly and Helen, we are so grateful for everything you did for us!

Great communication!

Helen from New Home Solutions was really easy to get in touch with and rang every week to give us an update on the sale. I felt like we were supported through the process as first time buyers, as we knew what the position of our sellers was at all times. Thanks for all the help!

Professional, friendly, efficient and well communicated

The initial sales process with New Home…

The initial sales process with New Home Solutions was positive. Everything after offer acceptance fell well below expectation.

Sales progression was poorly managed

- I had to chase for updates throughout
- Communication was delayed, often not until late afternoon
- Information was inconsistent and changed without explanation
- Three agreed exchange and completion dates were missed

When these dates were missed, there was no proactive call or update. I had to follow up myself to understand what had happened.

Advice that made things worse

I was advised to reduce my sale price to speed up the transaction.

I agreed on the basis it would accelerate exchange and completion.

What followed:

- The buyer’s mortgage needed to be amended
- This added roughly two weeks to the timeline

Result:

- Lower sale price
- Longer process

This should have been anticipated before advising a price reduction.

Lack of ownership

- Emails were often forwarded as “FYI” with no commentary or action
- I had to prompt basic tasks such as chasing solicitors and progressing the survey
- The process felt unmanaged, with the buyer dictating pace

I escalated this to management and requested a change of sales progressor. There was a short improvement, but no lasting change.

When I raised further complaints, these were not addressed by management.

Impact

- Significant delays beyond the original six-week expectation
- Considerable personal time required to manage the process
- Ongoing uncertainty caused by repeatedly changing dates

For comparison, the sales progressor on my onward purchase was proactive and drove the transaction forward. That contrast highlights what was missing here.

Overall

A disappointing experience. The lack of control, missed deadlines, and poor communication meant I had to manage much of the process myself.

I am now escalating this matter to The Property Ombudsman.

I would not use New Home Solutions again based on this experience.

We’ve had a really positive experience…

We’ve had a really positive experience throughout our house sale, and a big part of that is down to Helen Dyson.

Helen has been an absolute asset to the process from start to finish. She’s been proactive with updates, consistently chasing all parties to keep things moving, and stepping in to help navigate and negotiate when needed. In what can be a stressful and uncertain process, she’s been a calm, reliable point of contact throughout.

Her communication has been clear and timely, and it’s obvious she genuinely cares about progressing things and getting the best outcome for everyone involved.

We’re really grateful for all of her support and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

The best!

We have recently sold our house with New home solutions, and can honestly say we have received outstanding costumer service with the whole team but especially Karly who has been so friendly and informative throughout the whole process updating my self and my partner daily! Our house sold within days of been listed with new home solutions and we couldn’t be any more great full with all the help we received from Karly explaining everything so simply making the whole process so much less stressful.

Karly you have been amazing and truly are a credit to the company I really hope you get the recognition you deserve.
