Whole Genome Sequence 30x

I am very satisfied of the service. Despite COVID19 restrictions, i got the results on time.

The kit was easy to use, the customer support were very reactive and always provided answers within hours.

The platform is user friendly and explains everything.

I like the lifetime subscription and the accuracy of the 30x WGS.

For the Genetic Adventurer!

Loved this company! I've been able to dig deeper into my genetics and geneology using Nebula; I now have much more detail for my family and my myself, even after testing through Ancestry!
There is more genetic information than genealogical, so if you're looking into the world of genetics, this is the place!

You can also upload your raw DNA from other companies (23andMe, Ancestry etc) and I found several cousins overseas! Very, very happy with Nebula! Keep up the good work!

An incredibly helpful resource!

I love Nebula Genomics! I've had some health issues that we've had a hard time pinning down what was wrong. Without much known family medical history we decided to submit a sample to nebula. It really helped get us on the right track for a treatment plan and I'm grateful for their resources!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I paid thousands for whole genome sequencing and their monthly service just to find out years later that it wasn't even my DNA they sequenced. I met with a genetic counselor from another company and we used the genome browser to find out it was a male's DNA they had sequenced. I contacted them over and over again just to be met with nasty responses from uneducated customer service members. All I wanted was to be retested. Instead, I had to file a fraud claim with both my credit card company and the Better Business Bureau. I trusted this company as it was started by George Church but he would be ashamed to know how crappy of a company it is.

You'll regret it - files are incompatible with almost every other service, conversion not possible

The file type you need almost everywhere is the 23andme format. They don't offer it.
You'd think there's an easy way to convert the raw data to 23andme, right? That's what I thought before buying. Wrong! Note, that I'm a pretty technical guy, I can code several languages, and I did not manage.
The Nebula blog itself has a super outdated "side note" on how to convert their file to 23andme. And it doesn't work. All scripts online are outdated, too.
They also don't tell you what version their raw files are in, or give you any other help.

The height of frustration? The Nebula blog is littered with articles about services that DON'T SUPPORT THEIR FORMATS. So they make you think there are all of these services you can use, and after you pay them to sequence your DNA you find out that HAHA, you can't.

My guess is that it would take them 3-4 developer days, max 1 week to offer their own files in 23andme format. But they won't do it, because they want you locked in so that you pay their super expensive monthly subscription fee.

I thoroughly regret having paid more money for files that I can't use.

Terrible service. Stay away

The companies customer service is shocking. They are slow and don’t know anything and anything. It’s like they are outsourced with no access to the actual actual system. After 5 months my test failed despite following instructions perfectly and spending $150 on a door to door express courier to return the sample quickly. Don’t bother

Having deep knowledge about yourself…

Nebula Genomics lets you upload a raw DNA data file (my 23andme data) and get back a report full of genetic-based information about your various traits for free. Some of the traits are quite unique and interesting, I can compare them to Genomelink.

We then ordered and received my Nebula whole genome sequence with just a slight delay. The cost is a few hundred dollars. Pretty amazing.

I get access to Nebula’s research library, there are 200+ searchable reports keyed to my own genome.

These are readable and clear, each with research references. I was also able to download my Nebula raw data files.

These are large, so it helps to have fast Internet, although no need to download your raw data to get the constantly updating reports.

They got data back to me even faster than the expected turn around time and kept me updated promptly throughout the process.

Fake results

The results don't match with an existing genetic condition, therefore they are fake. I do not trust them

It is worth waiting

It is worth waiting! I love the detailed report of my data, with the great UI, it is such an enjoyable thing to read everything and to know more about myself. Great customer service!

Nebula has issues

Nebula has issues. I have used Nebula twice to do 30x WGS for myself and my daughter. First, know that they will take AT LEAST 16 weeks. This is likely caused by what is known as their batching procedure. They blame CoViD but it is more economical to batch the analysis as running individual samples does not make sense. This adds time. Second, they do not notify you of the sample receipt. Once you get the quality email you can expect 12 weeks before you get the data. The data is questionable. When my daughter's data was run it was high quality with a depth of 32-37x. The X data was less, ~12x. This is expected. This was under the old owner. My data was poor with a depth of 21-27x (average 24x). Even their own tool, gene.iobio, question the read depth. The X and Y data were in single digits. I have alerted their customer service and got silence. This is with the new owner. Why would the read depth be off? 1. Instrument needs service. 2. Runs shortened to save money. 3. Operator error 4. poor quality control. I would hope that it was an operator issue but what happen to quality control? This data is almost worthless. I had hoped they would fix this but all I got was silence. I suggest you find someone else.

Good Product — Worst Customer Support Ever

Just so you know this is a genuine experience, my kit number is NBR76G38. I spent over $1000 on a Nebula Genomics 100x WGS test. I followed their instructions, sent the sample and waited. And waited. Just wanting to know whether they had even received the kit (I followed the package using the shipper's tracking number, but from Nebula's web site you can't tell what happened after that!), I contacted them via their support page. A week later, they replied saying they were looking into it. A week after that, they said the kit was too old (!) and gave me two options: refund or replacement kit. I replied requesting a replacement kit. It's been a month since this ordeal began, and I am still waiting for a reply.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They promise things they never deliver (e.g., transfer to FTDNA); they will use any excuse to reject processing; and they do not invest in customer support. If they keep going this way, I expect them to go under sooner rather than later. For the customer support team, that means you will lose your precarious subcontracted job, so brace for it.

Nebula genomics stole over $1000 of my money

Nebula genomics is a fraudulent company. What ever you do DO NOT purchase their services. They stole over $1000 of my money and have persistently refused to provide any service. I wanted the full genome test because I have an autoimmune disease and wanted the bigger picture on my genetic profile. In the end I gave up on Nebula because I live outside the US in Australia and it just got too hard. Save yourself the grief and expense and shop elsewhere.

WILL CANCEL MY ORDER

I RECEIVED MY ORDER CONFIRMATION ON MARCH 9th AND IT IS NOW APRIL 21st.
MY INITIAL KIT HAS BEEN STUCK IN A PARTNER SHIPPING FACILITY SINCE MARCH 14th.
I HAVE HAD MANY EMAIL CONTACTS WITH NEBULA WHO PROMISED TO RESHIP THE ITEM. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN.

THEY JUST KEEP SAYING THAT USPS IS HAVING DELAYS SHIPPING TO AUSTRALA. THIS DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE THE TRUTH.

I HAD A PARCEL SHIPPED TO ME FROM IHERB IN USA ON APRIL 14th. TRACKING SHOWS THAT THIS PARCEL CLEARED CUSTOMS IN SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA ON APRIL 18th. THIS CLEARLY SHOWS THERE IS NO DELAY BY USPS.

I SUSPECT THAT NEBULA HAS NOT COMPLETED DOCUMENTATION REQIRED BY USPS. EVERY TIME I CONTACT THEM THEY APOLOGISE BUT DO NOTHING

Pros and Cons to Nebula

Two views as I've used Nebula two times.
30x test: 4 mo wait for results but they came and were solid.
100x test: had to request updates on status. Passed QC, failed 2nd QC. Disappointing but it does happen. Should have been told immediately- it isn't the customers job to ask. Difficult to get a response after that but currently responsive.

Pros: solid results, great tools offered including a genome browser (igv) and (watered down but still useful) mutation analysis (gene.iobio) for running specific genes, locations or panels.
Cons: long wait time, poor communication after sample is sent

If you have a reasonable understanding of genetics, raw data is compatible with multiple analysis tools. This is the major benefit of getting sequenced with Nebula.

Is it worth it? Up to you. You have to have a lot of patience and know there is no phone number for help. Support is email only. The results are solid and useful if you put in some time.

Worth it to avoid nasty surprises!

After an unexpected heart attack in my 40s caused by a genetic condition I didn't know I suffered from I decided never to be caught unawares again and got sequenced. Nebula is one of the few companies that offers 100% sequencing at a good price, but better to wait for the special deals they sometimes put on to get a great deal.

The sample collection is from saliva so simple and pain free. After a couple of months the results became available. I found the special reports they provide really helpful to gain basic insights on different things like heart conditions, blood cholesterol, diabetes etc which give you a score based on results from other customers.

For advanced users they offer gene navigation software which is at first quite challenging to learn but is incredibly powerful if you know what you are looking for.

After 6 months I feel I've barely scratched the surface in terms of information it makes available. At the end of the day it gives me some peace of mind knowing I can look up any genetic condition I read about and know if I have it right away and can take actions to minimise my risks. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in taking their health and longevity seriously.

I uploaded my DNA from Ancestry and had no issues getting my information. The information I have received has been informative and validating. I look forward to getting more from Neubula Genomics to inform my children more on their genetics.

Nebula sequencing deep and accurate

Nebula sequencing is top of the rank for deep and accuracy. It brought me more informations than I expected. It let compare my DNA with health scientific studies. I also discovered my genomics belongs to a rare european group from the first humans to conquier Europe.
Delays are longer than announced and info about it could be improved.

Excellent experience getting my genome sequenced

I purchased the Nebula Genomics ultra package and was sent a saliva collection kit. My first sample collection failed but Nebula sent another kit and the second sample collection succeeded. Overall I had an excellent experience getting my genome sequenced. The collection process was hassle free and easy, and I am now able to view my genome online on my computer.
