Best decision ever!

I truly cannot recommend studying with CNM enough. Beginning my Nutrition studies with CNM over 3 years ago was whole heartedly the best decision I could have ever have made. The quality of the lectures and the information was far superior to my previous degree, which really surprised me. I loved the clinical training and feel I have left CNM as a well rounded and confident practitioner! Thank you CNM :)

Horrific experience, stay away!!!

I signed up for this course with genuine excitement and hope for a new chapter in my life. Initially, the school’s staff were warm, friendly, and accommodating, which only fueled my enthusiasm. However, within just two weeks, my entire world shifted. I took a pregnancy test and discovered I was pregnant. Simultaneously, my husband received significant news from his employer about a likely relocation to either Asia or the USA.

Being a mother to two toddlers under the age of three, managing a chronic illness, and now navigating the challenges of pregnancy, alongside my husband’s career upheaval, left me completely overwhelmed. It was abundantly clear that I could not juggle these immense life changes while pursuing a new academic endeavor.

I reached out to the school immediately to explain my situation, expecting some level of understanding and compassion. Instead, I encountered a shocking lack of empathy and support. They outright refused to accommodate my request to revoke the contract, stating I was two working days outside their stated time frame for cancellation. Two days!

What followed was an exhausting and distressing game of back-and-forth correspondence. They demanded “proof” of my circumstances. I explained that my first pregnancy scan wasn’t scheduled until mid-January and that my husband’s employer could not provide a written relocation confirmation at this stage. Yet, despite my openness and honesty, they showed zero flexibility or humanity, treating my deeply personal struggles as bureaucratic obstacles.

Their refusal to escalate my case when I asked for higher-level intervention was another devastating blow. I had already submitted a comprehensive written statement detailing my situation, but they insisted on further formalities, only to ultimately dismiss my concerns. Shame on them. They left me feeling trapped and financially burdened, knowing full well I could not afford the course under my current circumstances.

Adding insult to injury, they later attempted to “spin” the situation into something positive, pretending I had made an enthusiastic decision to continue with their program. Let me be absolutely clear: I was forced into this path due to their cold, profit-driven policies. Their behavior has caused immense stress and anxiety, leaving me questioning how an educational institution could act with such disregard for the well-being of their students.

To anyone considering this school, please be warned: they are purely focused on profit and will not support you through personal challenges, no matter how legitimate or unavoidable. Their lack of empathy and compassion is appalling, and my experience stands as a testament to their true priorities.

ADDITIONAL INFO: Based on their replies to other victims on Trust Pilot, they consistently make excuses in every response. Their scam hasn't changed at all. Don’t be fooled by these phony replies!

My response to their answer below: Dear all, please be aware that they are referencing their official complaint process. The email provided to me was info@, which is a generic address. They never specified any particular person, especially nobody from the director or management level. This is how difficult they make it for individuals like me to receive a resolution to such painful experience. I still stand by what I had original said: STAY AWAY!!!

Dear Sara
I’m very sorry to read of your situation and do encourage you to contact the College to discuss matters in person. I understand you feel continuing with your studies under your circumstances would be challenging and it’s clear you’re managing a great deal.

I’ve read through all of the email correspondence with the College and do feel the staff were understanding of your situation and responded with empathy. Regrettably, however, the College did have to inform you that as you had missed the cut off date it would not be possible to defer or cancel the Biomedicine course. This is covered in your terms & conditions and applies to all students. It’s not possible I’m afraid to have a different policy regarding this for different students...the cut off date has to be specific and consistent for all. It would be incredibly unfair and potentially viewed as discriminatory to have arbitrary rules regarding this.

The College stressed that it was very happy to discuss options with you in understanding of your circumstances, such as taking a break from your course allowing you to focus on your personal situation without the pressure of coursework. The College also offered to discuss a flexible payment plan to assist with the fees and help alleviate any financial burden.

In all correspondence the language is empathetic and understanding of your situation. Unfortunately, we are just not able to bend the policy.

To address the point you raise in relation to escalating your case to a higher level of intervention, I’m afraid it’s simply not true to say you were refused your request to do so. You were supplied in writing with the exact procedure to take your grievance to a higher level for review. It’s noted that to date you have not followed this procedure.

There seems to be a very big misunderstanding at this point as the finance department is not asking for evidence of your pregnancy – this would be wholly inappropriate. You are corresponding with accounts, having said you were experiencing financial difficulties, requesting that your situation be reviewed and accounts are asking for evidence. It is normal if a student is saying they cannot afford to pay fees that an accounts department will request financial information for a review.

In response to your comments regarding the College’s replies, we consider all feedback seriously and take the trouble to look at situations individually, reviewing all correspondence in order to get a full and accurate picture. Many of the staff who work here are graduates themselves and work at the College as they had a positive experience and, as trained naturopaths, none of us wish for our students to experience stress. However, in order to be fair to all we do have to remain consistent in the application of our policies.

As mentioned above we’re very happy and willing to discuss this directly with you.

Herbs and plant healing for cats and dogs

I very much enjoyed the Pets and People course given by Anjie Main 26th October 2024 at the College of Natural Medicine (CNM) London. It was a very good introduction to supporting the health of cats and dogs using herbs and plants. By the end of the day a good selection of herbs had been identified and teaching given to enable us in their practical use. Anjie was very generous with her knowledge, and her teaching style was relaxed, friendly and welcoming which took away any barrier to learning. I feel equipped to begin using herbs safely, and inspired to take my interest further.

CNM changed my life!

CNM changed my life and I am so grateful that I found it. After looking for a place to study nutritional therapy, I decided that CNM offered the best course for me as I could study in person but also I loved that they emphasised naturopathy. It was so inspirational to learn about for the naturopathic philosophy of healing which has underpinned my practice ever since. I was constantly inspired by the lecturers and studying naturopathy as well as nutrition, meant that I could also bring in Bach Flower essences, tissue salts and detoxification. My journey with CNM didn’t finish there, and that’s what I love about health too..you never stop learning! During the naturopathy course, I found the iridology lectures fascinating so I went on to do the full iridology diploma! It’s a fab diagnostic tool so I would really recommend! This was where I discovered my love of herbs after studying iridology with Peter Jackson-Main who is the herbal medicine course director. So I knew what I had to do next! I then studied herbal medicine and although I’ve spent many years studying, I cannot underestimate the value this has brought to my life. Of course I’ve changed my career going full time into natural medicine but the benefits extend beyond this. I can look after my health (and my families), met wonderful people, made best friends and I’m genuinely feel so lucky that I was able to learn from incredible teachers who are so passionate about helping people heal. Health encompasses so many aspects, from the body to the environment and I feel empowered to look after both. Best thing I’ve ever done!

Health Coaching course

I’ve just completed the Health Coach diploma and couldn’t recommend it more. CNM gives you all the tools and skills to go out on your own and work within the health industry.

I opted for the online course which was perfect for me to fit in alongside work. The lectures were easily accessible and digestible and the team were incredibly supportive.

I’ll be looking to study with CNM again in the future!

Supportive environment & community

I completed the Herbal Medicine & Naturopathy Diploma at CNM, and it was the best educational experience I’ve ever had. The environment was extremely supportive, and the teachers, students, and staff were exceptional. Over the course of four years, my life changed significantly, and I’m grateful to everyone who contributed along the way.

As I begin my journey as a practitioner, I feel well-prepared, thanks to the comprehensive knowledge from the lectures, practical skills from clinic days, and the confidence I developed throughout the program.

Thank you!

I am so incredibly grateful to the Director of Studies, Karolina and her outstanding team for their unwavering support throughout my Diploma at CNM. During some challenging times, especially when my elderly mum was frequently in and out of hospital, they showed consistent understanding and compassion, allowing me the necessary adjustments to my course and assignments whenever I needed them most. Their kindness, patience & professionalism have been a god send to me & a constant source of encouragement. It’s clear they genuinely care about each student’s success, always going above and beyond to ensure we have the tools and support we need to succeed. Anyone who is considering a place of study with a compassionate, dedicated & supportive team, I can’t recommend CNM highly enough. Thank you Karolina & team for everything.

Post graduate training

I recently studied a Kinesiology foundation short course at CNM in April 2023.
I learnt about muscle testing, how, according to Chinese medicine, muscles are related to organs in the body, as well as emotions. I have learnt skills how to identify and restore balance in the individual.
It was such a valuable learning experience and has really added to my skills at a Nutritional Therapist.
I thank CNM for providing graduates with so many interesting options for further study and this list is ever expanding.

Great to Learn again

I have really enjoyed studying the course with the CNM. I chose them as they seem to be the premier name in naturopathic and holistic education in nutrition. The course itself is very interesting and I feel I learned a lot, even though I thought I knew a lot! As others mentioned elsewhere in other reviews , particularly with my batch, communications fell a little short of expectations, where expected communications failed to materialise and the inability to pinpoint where that went wrong and so the same mistake was repeated again, made them look a little unprofessional at times. Tutors were great, especially BioMed and Nutrition ones.
The real acid test to reviews always to me , though, is , would you go back? would you use again? With their reputation, yes I would., although very pricey ..I am looking at Nutritional Therapy Course after this.

Fantastic start to the Naturopathic Nutrition diploma

Having recently completed the first year of Biomedicine at CNM (year 1 of a 3 year Naturopathic Nutrition diploma), I have been very impressed with the high level of teaching we received. Our lecturer was extremely knowledgeable, engaging and brought great energy to the lectures. If there was a particularly complex concept to understand our lecturer would go over it as many times as required to ensure consistent understanding across the class. The lecturer was very approachable and open to answer any questions raised by the class. Each new lecture started with a review of previous lectures to keep reinforcing the learning. There are also high quality video replays available for each lecture which you can review post lecture to repeat any areas that require additional study. I now have a great foundational knowledge of anatomy and physiology, prior to commencing my Nutrition I and II studies.

Financially Ruthless

Financially Ruthless . Please be warned. After showing initial interest to this company I was aggressively marketed and phoned on multiple occasions inviting me to apply to join the foundation bio science course for Nutrition. Eventually I succumbed and paid the year fees up front to get a reduction. Unexpected within the first 6 weeks I had a change of circumstances and could not continue and was unlikely to in the foreseeable future. . I asked them for a refund but they would not agree and refused to answer my emails. They blocked access to all materials and held on to 3 k . In desperation I asked to defer which they agreed too. I have never been able to complete this course and I consider them to be ruthless considering my circumstances when they refused even a partial refund. Please be aware they ARE aggressive . On no account pay fees in advance . I cannot warn people enough . I think legally they were strictly speaking entitled to keep the money but morally they did nothing for the 3 k and are absolutely disgusting . They are also exempt from complaint under the university rules as a private outfit.

Dear Mrs Battrum
I am very saddened that you feel this way and encourage you to contact the College directly. We would value the opportunity to talk through your concerns.

I have fully reviewed all correspondence with regards to your situation and to be fair the College has worked with you for several years to assist you in completing your Biomedicine course. It’s true that once you have started a course it’s not possible to cancel. There is the opportunity to cancel a course two months prior to its commencement as detailed in your terms & conditions and this is considered fair and reasonable by both the College and our overseeing bodies. All of our dedicated staff work here because we are passionate about training naturopathic health practitioners but like any educational college we do have to remain viable. It’s very hard to operate as a training provider and deliver our courses to those students who are continuing on with their studies if we do not ask for all students to abide by the terms & conditions in which they enrol onto the course.

You started the course in July 2020 had been on the course for over three months when you got in touch to say you were unable to continue. You had accessed the course, listened to lectures and done exercises.
The college immediately cancelled your future course so that you would not be liable for these.
It was explained, that as you had started Biomed, it would not be possible to cancel the course at this stage but in understanding and recognition of your personal circumstances we offered you the opportunity to take a break from your studies, which you emailed in to say at the time you appreciated and asked for a year break. The College was happy to approve this.

Sometime later a further break of a year from studies was then approved to Sept 2022 and then a final extension was offered in July 2023.

The College fully empathised with and appreciated your difficult and challenging circumstances and in order to support you through this provided you with an overall extension of an additional three years in which to complete the Biomedicine course, which is normally required to be concluded within one year.
This was done with no additional expense to yourself and only on the final request for a fourth year was the admin fee of £150 and the balance only up to the current fee price applied. We consider this a reasonable request.

From the correspondence record we have worked with you and remained in touch with you throughout this journey to assist in making your studies more manageable. I can see that student services reached out to you on several occasions by email and phone to see how you were progressing on your course and offered support and further time out from your studies when this was requested.

You had a purpose to learn more about nutrition and refer to the course as being ‘excellent, life changing and transformative.’ We would love to be able to see you continue with your studies in this valuable field.

With best wishes,
CNM

A great way to study whilst in full time employment

The course set up is a great way to learn if you are working and need to fit your study into your working schedule . I felt that some parts of the course needed updating eg: the Fitness & Exercise module and the Marketing & Business modules . The organisation was some times lacking , for example , several of the live tutorials and case study tutorials either did not happen , or many of the students did not receive the link , this was rather frustrating and there was confusion over whether the lecturer was allowed to record the session or not , which meant some did not get recorded . For me the coaching module was by far the most useful and interesting and i really enjoyed the coaching case studies .
