Very Disappointing Experience

We recently planned our Egypt trip through Nasco Tours, booking everything from accommodations to local experiences. Overall, the itinerary was well-organized, and coordination during the trip was smooth. The team was responsive while we were planning and ensured that most arrangements went as expected.

However, our experience was impacted by an issue with a prepaid activity. We had booked a hot air balloon ride in Luxor for $640, which unfortunately got canceled due to bad weather. While we completely understand that weather-related cancellations are unavoidable, we were assured that the refund would be processed back to our credit card.

Despite multiple follow-ups over an extended period, we have yet to receive the refund, which has been quite disappointing. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and failure to process a legitimate refund has been extremely frustrating. Once the payment was made, there has been little to no support in resolving this issue.

I would strongly caution others to be careful when booking prepaid activities through this company, especially when it comes to refunds.

Be wary of scam

Be careful with this company – it really feels like a scam.

In Egypt you already pay the tourist price, which is generally very expensive, and of course guides and drivers still clearly expect a baksheesh on top of that. Normally that’s acceptable because the tours are supposed to be complete (guide + private taxi).

We booked three tours with them during our stay. The first ones were fine, but they completely ruined our last day of the trip.

They offered an interesting tour, but it was already quite expensive compared to competitors. We simply asked if a small discount was possible – which, as anyone who has been to Egypt knows, is something that happens everywhere. They offered a modest but acceptable reduction, so we agreed.

Once in the taxi, we realized that most of the program had disappeared. Out of the three planned visits, only one remained.

After several phone calls and discussions, they refused to listen and refused to change anything.

But don’t worry — the mandatory stop at their “partner shop” was definitely not forgotten. You know the type of place where you’re given a “tour” and then pressured to buy something. I don’t even particularly mind this Egyptian tradition, but it’s quite ironic that for the one part of the tour nobody asked for, suddenly there was plenty of time.

So yes, be careful when booking with them.

Ehab Mahany - great tour guide!

Ehab was an excellent guide today at Karnak Temple, Luxor. He was incredibly knowledgeable and took time to answer questions and explain things. He went out of his way to help us and his enthusiasm for his subject was second to none. He was also a very pleasant guy and was keen to show us everything. I would definitely recommend him for any tour in Luxor.

We went to see the pyramids with this…

We went to see the pyramids with this company, booked through our hotel in hurghada. It was the worst trip I have ever been on in my 52 years of traveling. The guides were misogynistic, racist, lied through their teeth and were exceptionally rude. They were 40 mins late picking us up, took us to multiple additional places that were not on the itinerary, just to try to get money out of everyone. They had no care at all for us enjoying the trip or for providing what we had paid for. The trip ended up lasting 24 hours. 2 hours going round picking people up, 1.5 hours dropping people off, plus a 6 hour drive to the pyramids. Most of the day was utterly wasted, usually having to sit on the coach. Absolutely zero communication, no one knew what was happening. Refused to translate for the British people on the trip. Disgusting company, really let their country down and showed a side of Egypt that I never want to see again. We went on other trips, which were a delight, as was the hotel we stayed at. Genuinely, avoid this company at all costs, especially if you have children or are female

In response to your reply, if this is the case then I am sure you would be concerned about their actions under your name. Ironically, when I spoke to them about the trip and their behaviour, they said they they had nothing to do with the planning of the tour either. It is very difficult to tell where the truth lies

Reply from Nascotours

Dear Ms Rachel Stubbs

Thank you for your reply to our response. We take your feedback very seriously and regret that your experience was disappointing. While our role was limited to providing transportation for a third-party tour that was not booked directly with us, we remain committed to high standards of service — as you can see from our reviews and online presence.

We would welcome the opportunity to restore your confidence. When you return to Egypt , we can ensure an exceptional experience and make things right.

We are deeply sorry to hear about your experience, as it does not reflect the values or standards we uphold at Nasco Tours.

To clarify, the bus used for this trip was rented by another travel agent who organized and managed the tour, including the guides and itinerary. While Nasco Tours provided transportation with our logo and name on it, we were not involved in the planning or execution of this shared tour. For private tours directly booked through our company, we ensure the highest quality of service and professionalism.

We sincerely regret the inconvenience you faced . Your feedback is invaluable, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

Kind regards,
Nasco Tours Team

Khaled and Monda were very good

Khaled was a really really good tour guide for us. He not only explained every Luxor history in pleasant and funny way, he also protected us from all the scammers. We were honestly mentally exhausted from all these tour guides who forces you into buy stuff that you didn't care about but Khaled was more interested in protecting you and making sure we have the best experience. If you're not interested in something, you just tell him that and he will customize the route accordingly without being pushy. I rarely recommend tour guide because Egypt is not for the weak but I would highly recommend him.

Also Monda was the front office person who coordinated and she was very kind and scheduled a tour for us last min without any problem. I would highly recommend

Best tour in Luxor

The whole Nasco Tours team made our experience wonderful today. Led by tour guide Khaled Fouad, the entire morning exploring the Valley of Kings and Habu temple was magical. He is the best tour guide in Luxor combining humour and brilliant knowledge of the sites.

The booking process through Monda Menious at the Hilton hotel was a breeze and the driver Emad Khier performed all his duties perfectly.

Many thanks,
Michael and Miriam

Booked four great day-trips

Booked four day-trips in and around Alexandria and found Nasco to be very helpful, from their desk inside the hotel, finding their drivers and tour guides to be responsible, well informed and made each day something special. Vehicles were clean and well maintained and guides were courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. Marwa Said, on the front desk was especially helpful with suggestions and recommendations for each tour!

Your dream Egypt holiday a hassle free reality

I was given the Nasco contact email by the Movenpick Hotel in Aswan where we had booked. Originally I was only after an Abu Simbel trip. However, the way Emad handled my enquiry, his responsiveness, helpfulness and attention to detail meant that I quickly decided to use Nasco across our entire trip.
Emad helped plan our activities, made suggestions in a helpful, not pushy manner and was a point of contact throughout. This is invaluable when travelling with kids as things can go wrong and off schedule in Egypt. Having someone you can always call on to help, is a massive relief. Emad also surprised us with kindness and thoughtfulness, like an impromptu felucca ride.
Emad's team is also brilliant. E.g. our luggage did not make it from Cairo and they made all the arrangements to pick it up from the airport when it was flown over.
Emad also arranged the most amazing guide, Kerolos. He had studied archaeology, spoke fluent English and was a fountain of knowledge. He accompanied us throughout... Abu simbel, Philae, Komobo, Edfu, luxor East and Eest bank, abydos, dendarah. With my son's passion and incessant questions, Kerolos showed patience and willingness to engage and share fascinating details.
All the minivans in which we travelled were clean, well air-conditioned and with sane drivers that never put us at risk.
Everything we did with Nasco worked like clockwork, the one thing we did not (booked before I got Emad's email) was a disaster and resulted in massive stress. Emad makes Egypt the dream holiday it should be. We are planning to visit Cairo once the new museum opens... guess who I will be reaching out to, to organise our trip....
