AMERICAN’S ACCOUNT OF AN EXTRAORDINARILY DISTURBING EXPERIENCE with AGENT LEA FILIP

It is neither habitual nor of my nature to publicly recount very negative professional experiences.

Yet, given the circumstances in this particular incident, the extent of my shock, and the truly despicable manner of how this entire episode unfolded, do feel compelled to ensure that others are made fully aware of my experience.

I'm American-Portuguese, raised in Los Angeles, with 18 years of professional experience spanning two continents.

Can therefore state, that I have never encountered a real estate professional whose conduct I found as profoundly unprofessional, discourteous, appalling and offensive as that of Lea Filip.

We discussed meeting during the course of this week, however, no subsequent communication materialised.

After 48 hours of complete silence, ultimately found myself having to take the initiative, contacting her via WhatsApp to ascertain whether the proposed meeting was still taking place.

She subsequently sent me an audio message, which I listened to in its entirety before calling her directly.

During our telephone conversation, she informed me was unable to meet with this week and therefore would instead wait until the end of September effectively postponing the matter by five or six or seven weeks…

What I found particularly offensive was not merely the postponement itself, which clearly a form to discreetly end any collaboration, but the truly disrespectful manner in which it was communicated.

Her tone was considerably dismissive, lacking in any interest, essentially mocking, and at times as though the circumstances were being treated as a source of amusement that being said a demonstrating a tremendous lack of respect and integrity.

Subsequently took the liberty of expressing my position with complete candour.

Explained, in light of her failure to contact me and the fact that I had ultimately been obliged to pursue the matter myself, found it exceedingly difficult to place any confidence in the proposition that she would genuinely re-establish contact several weeks later.

Was followed by her sending me a lengthy written message expressing her dissatisfaction with my tone and addressing the concerns I had raised.

Before being granted even the basic response opportunity, she chose, in an act utterly devoid of any diplomacy, discernment or professional consideration, to unilaterally sever all avenues of communication by blocking me across every available channel.

No further dialogue.
No clarification.
No opportunity to respond.
No attempt at professional resolution.
Nothing.

The entire interaction was extraordinarily rude, profoundly condescending, dismissive to an extent I found deeply offensive, and entirely lacking in the foundational professional courtesy one should reasonably expect from someone operating within the real estate industry.

Had she concluded that our professional expectations were incompatible, she was entirely within her rights to bring the interaction to an end; however, she gave no indication whatsoever that such a course of action was under consideration.

Instead resorting, without warning or the slightest attempt at diplomatic resolution, to the extraordinarily abrupt and deeply reprehensible act of severing all communication.

What I find wholly unacceptable and beyond unprofessional is the manner in which she chose to do so: after providing no follow-up whatsoever, effectively postponing the matter for five or six weeks, only after I had pursued her for a response, and then unilaterally terminating communication before I was even permitted the elementary courtesy of responding to her own message.

What kind of real estate professional treats and severely disrespects another person in such an extraordinarily discourteous and unprofessional manner?

If you expect to be treated with full dignity, courtesy, transparency and professional respect, would strongly urge everyone to exercise considerable and significant caution before contacting her.
