Poor Communication

We chose Kitchen Creations because Lee came across as genuine, knowledgeable and trustworthy. He wasn't the cheapest quote we received, but we felt his professionalism and approach made him the right choice.
Unfortunately, our experience after paying a 50% deposit in March was extremely disappointing.
Our kitchen installation was due to begin on 17 May, but once the deposit had been paid, communication almost stopped. Messages and phone calls regularly went unanswered, and we were left chasing for updates. When we did manage to speak to Lee, he said he hadn't contacted us because he had no new information. We understood that delays can happen, but all we asked was to be kept informed.
The start date was then moved to 8 June. Once again, that date came and went without any communication. After several attempts to contact Lee, we eventually discovered he was on holiday. He said he would get in touch when he returned, but again we heard nothing and had to chase him ourselves.
Eventually, Lee visited our home with another tradesman and assured us he was still committed to carrying out the work. However, he explained that he had taken on other jobs and was therefore unable to start ours. He promised to provide a new start date within a few days, but once again no communication followed.
By this stage we had completely lost confidence. Our kitchen project had been left in limbo for months, our deposit was tied up, and we still had no confirmed installation date. After taking advice, we ended the contract and requested the return of our deposit within 14 days.
When the refund had still not arrived by the morning of the deadline, we informed Lee that we would have to take the matter further. He stated he would refund us when his new card reader arrived. The money was eventually transferred into our bank account at 11:15 pm that evening—around four months after we had paid it, and without any work ever being carried out.
We fully appreciate that delays can occur in the building trade and would have been happy to work around revised dates if we had been kept informed. What we found unacceptable was the repeated lack of communication, missed commitments, broken promises and the constant need to chase for updates and, ultimately, for the return of our own money.
Our decision to choose Kitchen Creations was based on trust. Sadly, that trust was completely lost.

Avoid!

My parents paid Lee £12,000 to revamp their kitchen. They made the mistake of telling him that they would be away for the summer. He still hasn’t returned to finish or correct many of the mistakes that need to be done. He hasn’t spent a single full day working on their kitchen. He clearly has other priorities.

Drawers open on their own where they haven’t been fitted properly and the weight of the front panel is pulling them open, the hob hasn’t been sealed, doors are missing, a cupboard has been cut to fit so it is completely vulnerable to steam and damage. Doors are hitting the walls when they are opened and causing damage to plastering. Drawers hit each other if they are opened simultaneously. All of the fittings are brushed steel and not chrome (as ordered). Isolator switches are not marked. I could continue…..

They have made multiple failed attempts to contact Lee. As soon as they have asked about the worktop manufacturer he has replied but failed to acknowledge all of the outstanding work.

My parents tv is currently sat on blocks of wood. They asked him to fit it to the wall using a bracket provided.

My parents have spent a considerable amount of their money on having their kitchen modernised. And I can assure you, they wish they hadn’t bothered as getting someone to fix another workmans errors is impossible.

I have advised them to seek legal advice as the work completed is far below standard and incomplete. They are really disappointed and we trusted Lee to come into their home and complete the work that they have paid for. A considerable amount for replacement doors and fittings…….

The least you could do is pick up the phone and reply to them after they have paid you for 99% of the work. Or is the last £400 not worth the effort?

This work started in August 2025. It’s November and there is still a cupboard door missing!
