I booked my vehicle in for new tires - make sure you have all day!

I booked my vehicle in for new tires & wheel alignment from 9:00am–12:00pm, having paid in full two weeks earlier to secure that booking window. I arrived on time as scheduled.

When I dropped the car off, I found the customer service interaction unprofessional and it left me feeling uncomfortable. The staff member made several unusual comments about death that were inappropriate in a customer service setting.

At drop-off, I explained that I needed the car back no later than 1:00pm as I was working that afternoon. I specifically arranged my day by taking the morning off to accommodate the booking.

At 12:40pm, I received a phone call which I assumed was to let me know my car was ready for collection. Instead, I was told that the tire change hadn't even been started and that the car would be ready later that day.

I explained that I needed the vehicle for work and had made this clear when I booked it in. The response I received was essentially, "Well, come and pick it up then. What other day would you like to book it in?" There was no apology, no acknowledgement that my time had been wasted, and no attempt to find a solution. I explained that I had taken the morning off specifically for the appointment, but this appeared to make no difference.

The overall experience left me feeling that my time was not valued. I had paid in advance to secure a specific booking window, organised my work commitments around that appointment, and yet the service had not even commenced by the end of the agreed timeframe. The lack of communication, accountability and customer care was extremely disappointing.

I'm giving two stars because the price match was competitive. However, the requirement to pay for the service upfront before any work is carried out feels like a hard-sell tactic and, given my experience, only added to the frustration.

After using Mycar for a few years now…

After using MyCar for a few years now they have lost our three family cars business with this pay up front crap
I pay when the job is done not before
This is no reflection on Natalie and the team they always do a great job

The communication was very timely

The communication was very timely. The staff were friendly and the service was exceptional even letting me know a part was under warranty so took the car back to the dealer. Now that's customer service.

Very poor at explaining what they did

Very poor at explaining what they did. Left to last minute to start working on my car even though I was there when they opened at 8am. Got car back and the paperwork states tyres were rotated which they weren't. Lights on dash still on but not told about them staying on till they sort out the issue. Was told they would order part and now still waiting for call. Got car back at close of business stating at least I have brake lights now. Had they have stated on it earlier when it was dropped off they could have sorted the issue by getting the part during the day. Very poor in my eyes. Paid the extra to have this sorted but still have the problem.

Didn't look after me like grandma in the add.

I had a really poor experience with…

I had a really poor experience with these guys. I took my car in for a service (essentials plus $299) & they had my car for 7 hours before even looking at it. I got a call saying it needed about $7k worth of fixing (yep old car I know, just the service please). When I finally got my car back, the glove box was on the floor, along with all my belongings. The cabin filter was not replaced or put back in. I drove away & heard a weird noise only to find that the air filter was also not put back in & just left loose under the bonnet. I check my log book & nothing filled out & when I rang they said ‘it wasn’t a log book service’. No filters replaced (nor put back in) so basically I paid $299 for an oil change which I can do myself much cheaper. All I got was ‘sorry’. Nothing else. No discount, nothing. Do not recommend.

Friendly, knowledgeable and trustworthy

Natalie and staff are very friendly and trustworthy. The online quote provided was accurate plus Natalie threw in a couple extra things that my car needed free of charge! Even though I live on Brisbane’s north side now, I will keep coming back to mycar Wynnum to get my car serviced. Every time I visit, I am very happy with the services provided!
