Five of my boxes arrived damaged

Five of my boxes arrived damaged, with huge holes down the side. They were strong double walled boxes which were well taped, and they arrived looking like they had been thrown off a truck. I will not be able to see in person what's fallen out of the boxes and what's damaged inside the contents of the box within their small claims window, so they will not refund anything. I had credit with them, and they wouldn't refund that to me either.

We're sorry to hear of any issues with your shipment - we can see you sent 10 boxes from France to Portugal, with everything arriving on time on the 19th of May.

You contacted our team on the 22nd of May to report that some of the items arrived with damage to the external packaging. It is very rare for any damage to take place especially if items are properly packaged and protected for transit within a couriers network where they will be travelling in an automated network with other heavy and large items. This not only applies to the actual external packaging but also how the contents are packed, spaced out and any empty space filled so that contents cannot move around and affect the integrity of the box itself.

All couriers will have specific deadlines in place for claims which our team did advise on - our timeframes are in place to allow these deadlines to be met otherwise no claim will be accepted. This is standard with most companies.

You advised our team that it would be over three months until you would be able to inspect your items and be able to advise on if any items were damaged or missing - unfortunately this would mean that this would be too far past any deadline for a claim to be processed.

Your unused credit for removing an item for €71.68 has been refunded and should be back with you within the next 1 - 2 days. If you need anything else, please let us know. Our customer service team is available via email and phone at www.mybaggage.com/contact.

Please stay clear of MyBaggage

My mother, who lives in the UK, recently passed away. My brother and I have been sorting out her things, and my brother, who lives in the USA now, sent some very personal, nostalgic items from our mother’s home, to his home in the USA with MyBaggage.

That was at the end of April. He followed all the instructions provided by MyBaggage to the letter, but the 2 boxes are being held at customs clearance in Los Angeles with the carrier, FedEx, because apparently the information they received was not complete. And now, at the end of May, they are stuck because no one seems to know what FedEx wants, or how to provide what they need, despite my brother contacting them directly. MyBaggage is trying to help but as the middle man, who didn’t know what FedEx required in the first place, are of no use.

And now my brother risks the boxes being returned to the UK, to an empty house.

My advice is to stay clear of MyBaggage as they don’t know what the shipping companies need, they don’t know what customs needs and they are no help when things go wrong.
Go directly to the shipping companies instead.

If your items are held at a customs clearance hold, this is down to the shipment not being able to be cleared by the CBP in the USA, this is a governmental agency that is not under the control of either My Baggage or our couriers. Customs may ask for additional information regarding the specific circumstances for your shipment.

All couriers are obligated to comply with any requests from customs and we do appreciate it can be frustrating especially when additional requests may come through as more information comes to light regarding a shipment.

Delayed luggage for more than a week now

I used My Baggage services to send my luggage from Australia to Spain. My luggage was estimated to arrive on 18/05/2026 and is now delayed by more than a week. Throughout the process, I have repeatedly provided all requested documentation, only to be asked for different documents days later, causing continuous delays and confusion. My shipment contains essential personal belongings that I urgently need, and the lack of clear communication or a realistic delivery timeframe has been extremely stressful. Very disappointed with the handling of this case.

We’re sorry to hear your shipment has been delayed due to customs clearance checks in Spain. We do advise of potential delays to all customers before and during booking. We advise against sending time sensitive items due to this.

Customs checks are handled on a case-by-case basis by the relevant government agency. All couriers must co-operate with customs requirements, which means neither My Baggage nor the courier can control customs holds, processing times, or requests for further documentation.

Easy to book,good service

A very good delivery service for two…

A very good delivery service for two out of three bags shipped, arriving within the expected time frame.

Very easy service to use from booking in the items to clear instructions how to affix labels. Items were collected within the indicated time, and we were provided progress updates along the way. 3 items shipped, 2 items received within the week as expected.

Last item has tracked to same delivery hub (arrived on the same date) but still not received.

Avoid. They take your money and vanish the moment anything goes wrong.

I used My Baggage to ship to Germany and the experience was a masterclass in how to fail a customer.

The shipment was stuck at German customs because FedEx demanded documentation I had already provided through My Baggage's own customs form including proof of my German nationality. The information was sitting right there in the paperwork they forced me to fill in. FedEx ignored it and kept asking for more, dragging out over a week of back-and-forth while My Baggage stood by and watched. The bag eventually turned up, over a week late, with absolutely no thanks to them.

When I complained, the response from customer service was a textbook deflection: warm apologies, a patronising lecture about how customs is "technically" between me and the local authorities, and a smug reminder that I'd signed up to the courier's terms of service. Not one of my three specific requests was acknowledged. The entire reply was engineered to make their failure my problem.

The whole point of paying My Baggage instead of booking FedEx directly is that they're supposed to manage the customs and courier layer for you. The second it goes wrong, you discover that they see themselves as a middleman with zero responsibility for the outcome they just sold you "shipping" and the rest is apparently your problem.

If your route is straightforward, you'll probably be fine. The moment anything goes wrong, you are completely on your own and they will tell you so, politely, while pocketing your money. Use literally anyone else.

We’re sorry to hear about the frustration caused by the customs clearance process. Since the UK left the EU, every shipment is checked and cleared by the delivery country's customs agency who work closely with all couriers. Customs checks are handled on a case by case basis, but customs is a government agency and all couriers must co-operate with their requirements. Neither My Baggage nor the courier can control customs holds, processing times, or requests for further information.

Once you contacted us on 19th May, our team raised this with FedEx and opened a case to chase this further. This was the first you raised this with us and our team acted straight away. You were in touch with the courier from the 11th of May and only contacted us over a week later. We feel it is unfair to claim that our team did nothing. As soon as we are contacted about any issues, we are always more than happy to assist.

This was such an easy experience

This was such an easy experience. I sent 6 boxes of my things from the UK to Cyprus. Every step was taken care of.
I only wish I had know right from the start I needed double walled boxes and not once I booked. A great service if you aren’t moving houses and need a few things sent over to a different country.
