Extremely Poor Bolton Council Tax Service

Very disappointing experience with Bolton Council. My Council Tax issue has been ongoing since September 2025 and is still not resolved despite multiple emails, phone calls, and even visiting the Town Hall in person.
I paid £949 on 29 January 2026, which staff confirmed cleared my account. However, on 11 March 2026 my account suddenly showed £934.08 due again. I also received threatening letters about a summons even though I never received a proper bill or email notification.
I have spent nearly one hour on the phone trying to fix this issue, only to be told that my account has still not been updated.
This level of service from a public authority is unacceptable. Residents should not have to chase the council for months to correct what appears to be their internal error.
