Disappointing experience at mountain high resort

Staff at ticketing was rude and incompetent. She overcharged me for an additional private lesson and kept me at the ticketing for more than 30 mins resulting in our party having to rush to make it on time to the 10 am private lessons. We dropped over $1000 for just one day at your resort but the service was horrible.

Staff at magic carpet was extremely rude screaming at me for stepping on the trail with my 3 year old daughter who was her first time skiing. He was caught falling asleep instead of attending n ensuring the safety of the guests at the magic carpet.

Not enough lifts opened. Roadrunner was closed.

Bought 1st time e-tickets online

Bought 1st time e-tickets online, arrived at 9 on a Monday to pick up tickets and get skiing. Expected a quick visit to ticket booth, but lines at all windows, and two windows to handle e tickets. It took 30 minutes in line to get to window. At the window, pleasant help and it took 2 min to get our tickets. Can't figure how it took 30 min. Needed more windows open, or e-ticket ONLY windows.
Employees in rentals, lodge and bar all super pleasant and helpful.
Lift crews not particularly helpful - know they're there for safety, but ought to know the trails and runs so as to be able to offer a suggestion.

10 Years Later...

I grew up going to mountain high and haven't been to the resort in maybe 10 years... It was an AMAZING experience to return to the resort, just as I remembered, with a few necessary upgrades. It was cool to see the things that had changed - and the things that had not. I thought I was going to injure myself immediately and not be able to handle a run down the mountain, but it was just like old times :-)
I was able to carve and get on (and off) the lift without falling. "Just like riding a bike". Just brought really good memories and it was a great experience on a beautiful day with a great friend! All your staff and processes were smooth and everyone was kind and helpful.

Mountain High Ski Resort Review

I directly interacted with 4 different employees at Mountain High over the course of my visit. 3 of said interactions were negative. I was interrupted and belittled at both the ticket and rental windows along with witnessing a rental shop attendant cut off and re-direct some kids to the repair shop before insulting them behind their backs after they left the shop. My positive experience was at the end of the rental process with an employee who grabbed my snowboard and was very friendly to talk to. I am an out-of-town visitor who doesn’t know the resort so there is a chance some of my questions to employees came across as naive. That being said, their responses to both myself and other customers makes it really hard for me to want to return to the resort or recommend it to others.

We had a great time

We had a great time! Everyone was friendly & helpful. Getting our E-Tickets was easy. We never had to wait in long lift lines. Looking forward to our next trip to Mountain High!

Thanks, Cody + great spring skiing

Great spring skiing with my five-year-old. Coach Cody was excellent for the half day lesson. And we skied another two hours just me and my little guy. So much fun. We'll be back!

First time to the resort

First time to the resort, and my friends and I had a great time overall. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the lady who was greeting and assisting the customers in front of ticket windows. However, the cashier at the Big Pines Base Lodge needs to pay more attention to customers waiting in line.

Lovely

Coming from France, the slopes are not the best I know cause I’m use to big slopes (les sybelles). But I had a GREAT time over there and enjoyed it a lot!! Too bad some of them were closed though..

We really wish we had a better experience…

We wish we had a better time at Mountain High since it was our very first time there, but we unfortunately had a lot of bad luck that day. We arrived on time before the 8:30 but because of the long lines at the ticketing counter we couldn’t join the 10am ski classes. We had lunch and waited for the 1pm classes. But just around 12:50pm as we were heading up to the ski school, our son had a diaper blowout. We had no choice but to clean & change him first. Then by the time we got to the ski school they said he couldn’t join the class. He was super upset he couldn’t join (because he had waited all day) and I also couldn’t do any skiing at all that day. We wish we could have gotten a refund, but we were only given vouchers that are only valid THIS season (which probably won’t last that much longer) but since we don’t live nearby Mountain High and my son is currently really sick, so looks like our $$$ is going down the drain :(
We really wish we could have had a better experience and given a better review. If only we could have gotten a refund we might consider going back.

Everyone was nice

Everyone was nice. Beautiful day, good facilities, easy drive. What more can you ask for. You know what. The lady at the ticket window was kind of rude.

I like Mtn. High

I like Mtn. High & usually my 1st choice for local So. Cal. Skiing. The last couple of years I haven’t been as impressed by the skiing there. Last week when i went the skiing conditions could’ve been much better! The runs weren’t groomed very well, very hard packed, chunky snow on many of the runs. All the people that work there are friendly, but the conditions of the runs has gone down hill considerabley the last couple of years. I always talk to other skiers & that seems to be the same opinion of most of the people. It’s kind of sad because most people I know would much rather prefer to ski Mtn. High compared to Big Bear, due to much easier drive. So the resort needs to step it up a little as far as maintaining the runs better.

Awesome but ski lift problem.

The place was amazing and the trails were also incredible. However the only problem was that the ski lift did not have a bar to put over when we rode it so it felt very unsafe. A member of my group even refused to go in the ski lift again after going on it once of fear of not being strapped in. Big bear and other places have ski lifts WITH bars for protection while riding and I strongly believe more people would enjoy their experience there if this very important issue was handled. Thank you.
