Quick to resolve my issue

I've updated this review as I had a problem with my order due to a facebook email being used when i signed up. It's not entirely clear why facebook or the shop app used this email but I was contacted by Jamie who was very helpful and has advised that my order is on the way and will send the tracking information to my actual email.

Don’t travel far to visit this shop

Follow this place online so travelled 300+ miles to visit the store.
Only to be greeted by some kid behind the counter mouthing off “If it’s not on the board you can’t have it”. Went there with a list of cards they had in stock on website almost £700 to spend.
Well done kid you made £13 on 2 xJurassic Park cards and lost a customer forever.

Hi Craig,
Thanks for taking the time to review us, Jamie here the owner of the business, I wanted to reach out to you regarding your experience. I was actually present in the building for this interaction, while you spoke to my colleague.

So for a lot of reasons which I will cover briefly here but if you would like a more detailed explanation you are more than welcome to pop in and talk to me, call us on 0131 466 5465 or drop us an email at moxinthehole@gmail.com

Our policy at current is that it is we only sell the singles on the wall display that are available in-store, while we work to increase the number of singles on display, the main reasons for this as you mentioned yourself that you usually use mage and saw our store on there, is in addition to mage, we have our own website, cardmarket, ebay (and some other platforms in the works) so in order to ensure inventory is correct and timely processing all orders go through the website for other items.

In addition to this, the binders that you could see behind my colleague for pulling orders from are maybe around 2% of our total inventory.
A lot of what is listed on the website and the above platforms are kept off-site in our storage as you will recall the store has quite a narrow layout, so we wouldn't be able to hold all the inventory in the unit. So although the website shows it as being in stock, a lot if physically not in-store, which is why shopify is set to display that usually those items are available within 24 hours so that they can be picked and brought to the front counter accordingly for collection.
So the list of cards you had would likely have not been available.

So to avoid your disappointment its why we don't currently deal with lists over the counter, because in-stock online and in-store are two separate things. Now given you said you were looking to spend £700+ which didn't include the more valuable cards from the wall, I can only assume your order must have been a lot of the cheaper bulk commons/uncommons or rares/mythics below £3-4 as they are kept off-site which I imagine must mean your list was several hundred cards. To allow prompt processing on those kind of orders it's why they are stored separately.

Which is why we offer shipping 6 days a week with free shipping.
I can only apologise, that my colleague actually getting you the Jurassic Park cards, because they had just been filed away so he knew they were on site was an issue for you with the rest of the list that may not have been available.
Kind Regards
Jamie

A gem of a store

I'm so very glad my wife and I decided to take a chance on a Lorwyn draft night while on holiday in Edinburgh; Mox is an absolute gem of a store. The selection of single cards, accessories and bundles is extensive and competitively priced, and the community friendly and welcoming. I had an excellent time and will not hesitate to drop by again if we end up in Edinburgh in the future.

Very disappointing experience

Very disappointing experience with Mox in the Hole.

After placing an order, I contacted them to add additional cards. I was later told that orders cannot be edited, so I asked for the order to be cancelled so I could reorder everything together.

I followed their instructions and raised a cancellation request. After this, communication stopped and I was blocked from further contact and prevented from placing new orders, leaving me unable to resolve the situation or reorder.

The handling of this was inflexible and unhelpful, especially as I acted quickly and in good faith throughout. Blocking a customer instead of resolving the issue is not acceptable.

Based on this experience, I won’t be ordering again.

Amazing customer service and great prices!

Did a large order of singles from them and got amazing value for money, their prices were way better than what I'd find on cardmarket or ebay.
I did have one problem with my order where a playset of one card was sent in the wrong rarity, after emailing them about it I already had a reply within the hour with them confirming they'd send out the replacement the next day with next day delivery.

Amazing customer service, will absolutely buy from them again
