Review for Stephanie Johnson – Check Cashing Store

When I brought my mother to cash her check, Stephanie Johnson provided outstanding service. She was caring, patient, and very attentive to my mother’s needs, making the entire process smooth and comfortable. Stephanie went above and beyond to ensure we were helped quickly and treated with genuine kindness. Her professionalism and warm attitude made us feel truly valued as customers. We left with smiles on our faces — thank you, Stephanie, for showing such compassion and excellent customer care!

This was not the first time I have exchanged USD for foreign currency here...but it will be the last. I have exchanged USD for Canadian dollars, the rate was not correct, but I was in a bind so I paid it. This time I was attempting to exchange USD for Euros. The current market rate is ~1.15 Euro to USD. This was NOT the rate they were using. For 200 Euros, they informed me it would be $271.42. I asked how when the market rate is 1.15. It should be $231. It was explained to me that and I quote "google is not correct" It was like trying to pull teeth as what rate he was giving me. He stated 1.32 and their fee is $5.99 . I explain to the gentleman that isn't even close to the rate. They were overcharging me by $35.
For the record, the market rate for the past month has fluctuated from ~1.14 to ~1.159. which is not even close to what they claim the rate is.
If you want to be ripped off when exchanging foreign currency...then this is your place!

I had a visit with the money Mart in Pearl city, Hawaii, Hawaii. The cashier that assisted me in cashing my check was on point with her customer service and the time it took for me to cash my check on January 22, 2026 took a little bit, but I left a very happy customer. The reason it took time to my understanding was because of the processing time it took to approve the check.

Hello, my name's Daniel Ginn and my experience with money mart has been very disappointed ever since my mother passed away. I have been getting ripped off and checks deposited into money markets and transferred to other accounts. Using my name in my account. In my identity, I went into money mart to try to rectify the problem. And to find out more, they just kicked me Uber to the store and wouldn't give me no information about my accounts, they said we're not doing business with you no more and I said, well show me proof that you're close to my account and stuff, they wouldn't do that. And I try to talk to the police, but the police took their side and said that they were doing nothing wrong that it's their choice if they wanna do business or not. And recently, I was Ripped off Jordan principal, check-in another large check. In my Gs ts and tax checks were all cash in these accounts, so I'm living in miramichi New Brunswick in the morning merit, I'm referring to is in New Castle and the clerk I was talking to is Sharon, in her co-workers that's pretty sad that we inherent money or we get money.And you tell cashier that you're being wronged , and they're okay with other people going in there , fraud

I’m so happy with the service that I have received from the crew here. I have take a few lines here and they always make sure that everything is clear and on point with what I am asking. They also make sure that I never have a late payment as they call ahead of time to remind and keep everything up to date.

I needed a check cashed. Michelle was Knowledgeable, friendly, and quick. Also very pretty 😊
If I need to cash a check in the future, I will most definitely be returning here. Thanks again.

The girls here are always so good with me and polite. Everything usually goes very smoothly on their end of things even when I make it a lil hectic! Today I was in the store and Bella and Cassandra were right on it with me gave me the fastest experience I’ve had so far and I’m a regular at this point haha. They both took an interest in my kids and asked about my day it was just a wonderful experience all around. Also Bella is gorgeous if someone could give her my email thatd be great 😅😅

I was so stressed out trying to send money but Hilda made it simple and fast. She is very efficient

My ACH cleared on July 6 and it's July 14 and still can't get a loan. Been a customer at store and online. They keep asking For S. S. Proof which I've sent 5 times. This is a really bad Corporation. It's called Global. Loan from them approximately 5 years. This is pretty much it for me. Try Moneytree or Check and Go. You will wait forever with this Company if you go online.

I participated in the California COVID-19 rent relief in 2022 and was finally issued a check after 6 months. unfortunately i went to money mart to cash my rent check. the store manger lied to me and said there would be no hold on the check and about an hour later they told me there would be a 8 day hold and that there was nothing i could do about it. A government check huh. it is impossible to get a hold of live person that works for Money Mart. the bottom line is if you need your rent check cashed avoid Money Mart at all costs they are shady crooks who have horrible customer service and they held my rent money hostage for 8 days so they can collect interest on the money i am assuming. Bad company

The young lady was professional and multi talented. She did Western Union and was cashing checks at the same time. She worked three Windows and still was polite. I would like to thank you for hiring great people. Store # 1908 . Good job.
