scam, misrepresentation, partial refund

feels like a scam or very poor business practice. I ordered a leather jacket (L) but received a cheap oil-smelling plastic one similar to a raincoat, clearly S though there were no labels to confirm.
returning wasn’t straightforward, all shipping costson customers, nearly half the jacket’s price. I negotiated a 50% refund and kept the jacket.
the customer service was polite, responsive, and handled the refund process quickly and efficiently
